  1. Hey guys! Ok so I'm about a month and 2 weeks post op... Lost 37 lbs so far... However I've kinda slowed my roll.. I've been following a super high protein and low carb diet ( like the only carbs I was getting was from the bits of lettuce and tomato I've been eating.... I found that I'm pretty much nauseous EVERY DAY! I don't want to eat anything because of this nausea and I'm pretty sure that at this point I'm not eating enough. A sample day: Breakfast: Maybe 2 pieces of Canadian Bacon Lunch: Super small salad consisting of lettuce tomato, chicken & oil/Vinegar/salt/pepper Dinner: Maybe half of a small steak and a sugar free popsicle So... I think I may not be eating enough... And that I'm being too strict with my carbs.. I know most people DO have some carbs and even things like wheat bread or tortillas on occasion... Should I be expanding my diet some?? Any ideas on what all the nausea is about? My problem is that my Dr. is a great surgeon... But not much of a people person.. He's super curt and short when I ask questions and he's just not much help.. So I've been relying on fellow banisters for help. THANKS!!!!!!!!
  2. Ok So I guess I have a ton to ask about.. I'm less than a month post surgery and am a bit stuck... So I'm on my first menstrual cycle since getting my band (12/16/11) and I had been losing about a pound every two days... but for the last week, NOTHING.... It's incredibly frustrating considering it's actually the first week I started exercising! I was wondering if anyone else had had a similar experience... could it be Water retention from the period??... Moving on... I've been wondering about diet... I am always STARVING when I'm on strictly liquids and can't really wrap my head around the pureed food deal.. So I was wondering if anyone had started solids a little early on, like 3 weeks after... Now i'm not talking serious solids, but like perhaps one meal a day with some salmon or Mahi Mahi... I've had it a few times and it went down totally fine, but I just don't know if it might not have been a good idea... Suggestions?
  3. OK so I was banded on 12/16/11.. I'm kinda going through this on my own because I made a choice not to tell anyone about being banded.. I was just in no mood for judgment from people who didn't understand... Only my mother and husband know... So, that being said, I find that going out with friends is REEEEALLY tough right now... It's pretty difficult to explain to them why i'm only having Soup broth and Water right now..lol... I know it's still early in my journey but I've tried having grilled fish a couple of times before and totally tolerated it just fine... But I can't help but wonder if it might be hindering my progress..... I've lost 24lbs since my pre-op diet but have actually hit a plateau this week with no loss (note, I'm on my period and am hoping that that is the culprit) So I was wondering, has anyone else progressed to something like fish earlier on?.. I'm finding it's like the only was for me to get any real Protein in since I can't seem to stomach Protein shakes (I've tried several and they all taste horrid to me... and make me nauseous). Any advice would help! THANKS!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Boob Question

Oh Yeah.. My boobs (and feet for some reason) were my fists parts to get skinny.. And I'm super happy actually 'cause I hate big boobs... I was a DD pre-op.... and now (only 3 weeks post op) I'm a big C.... I hope to get just to a smallC and I'll be thrilled! Oh and if you do some weight training and push ups, etc, you should;t have any real sagging issues.. GOOD LUCK!
