Wow! Laddie1229, you are doing great! Congratulations. I am at 225, and I don't have to lose any before surgery. I have my psych appointment next week and I will be done with my checklist, so hopefully I will bave a surgery date within the next few weeks. You seem to be losing fairly quickly, and I hope I have similar success. I wasn't so sure about Lapband and got a little discouraged with the average 1-2lbs loss a week, but slow and steady is okay for me too. I am a little terrified of gastric bypass, so the band it is for me. @mags2u, thanks -

Thanks, Laddie. I was referred to this website from one of my support group members. I have been browsing and have found it so informative. It feels good to read so many success stories, after hearing so many horror stories about the band. Congrats on your new life. How are you doing after your surgery? -
You have to choose what's right for you. I am pre-op, and I am waiting on a surgery date. I have only told 2 of my best friends about my decision to have the surgery. My husband ofcourse knows and supports my decision. I have struggled with my weight for over 10 years, and people always tell me that I'm not that big...or just work out and watch what you eat. Hello, I've been there and done that and have gone on every diet and taken every diet pill...and it hasn't worked. I am convinced that everything is not for everybody. Which is why I have kept my decision to myself for the most part. I don't want anyone trying to convince me not to do it. Believe me, I have weighed the pros and the cons, and my decision is based on my health and my desire to live a healthier and longer life. Stick with your decision and best of luck in you success:-)
