I can't drink soda at all, I've taken a few sips from hubbies drink when I'm desperate and it felt awful. It actually is uncomfortable, I'm not interested, I'll stick to raspberry iced tea if I want sweet.

Chin up my friend....let me tell you, knowing someone will lecture me... I am 3 months out, I have NEVER been able to drink 64oz of Water a day. I have NEVER eaten 1000 calories a day. For the first month I was lucky to hit 600 calories. But as time goes by, you won't even notice but you'll suddenly find you can take another bite....another spoonful...not much but enough that you'll start feeling better. I hate water...nay I LOATHE water...imagine my horror upon learning that some people drink 64oz a day? Well, I live on unsweetened tea, I add a little raspberry flavor to make it tolerable for my sweet tooth and my doc is happy. I am manic about my Vitamins (try to stay that way too) and am down 50 pounds in 3 months. No, it wasn't perfect, yes there are some on this board who would lecture me or tell me I did it wrong. But I feel good! Well now I do! The doctor and nut are happy, my blood work looks fantastic and friends and family compliment me on how healthy I look (nobody knows I had the surgery). I would endure the struggle again because its worth it and I feel fantastic. Heck, I AM fantastic! And you are too!!! Keep going girl, you are gonna look amazing in those jeans!

Comfy sweats, your tooth brush, hairbrush and socks. Your feet will be freezing. I took my iPad but didn't read too much. But I could face book etc. -

Um, can I get that on tape please?
neekoal replied to neekoal's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Every one of these doctors has their own rules, that in itself is crazy, so you get on here, see all the conflicting advice and it makes you more crazy. I really just posted this because I thought it added a bit of levity as it was so unexpected. I went in because I was achy and feeling like I was getting the flu or something. Stomlin-the net is FULL of conflicting stories but the NUT directed me here for best explanation. http://www.builtlean.com/2010/04/27/starvation-mode-are-you-eating-enough/ I'm thinking the Ensure or Boost is the way to go, I cannot endure another Protein shake, one already kills me. -

He says 1000. He also recommended Boost or Ensure to add in the calories in drink form, that may be an option for you. I can't do dairy so the milkshakes are out for me, he knew I couldn't drink one anyways, I'd get 3 sips in and hit a wall. -

Doctor and the NUT and yes, consuming too few calories sends your body into starvation mode and makes you sick. I'm supposed to do this for two weeks and then go back to see him to re-evaluate. I don't think it was bad advice, I was not feeling well and he frankly saved my life after a bad Lapland from another doctor. I lost too much too fast, so he is trying to put the brakes on then restart. But I understand why you would go to that reaction first. -

I'm 5 weeks out, I can only "stomach" (pun intended) about 600-700 calories. Doc says I need to drink the extra calories (about 1000 a day he says) since I can't eat them. Even drinking is a trial but I can get a Starbucks Tall down over the course of an hour. I find every week I am doing better, I definitely am getting more variety now so that's good. -
Today I had my post surgery follow up and my doctor and NUT said something to me that nobody has said in years. He looked at me and said, your weight loss is great but I need you to eat more calories, stop for a milk shake or get a Frappacino if that's what you fancy. You have my blessing to do what it takes. After I picked my jaw up I just laughed. Good news is I've lost 37 pounds!

Dr. Richard Collier CONROE TEXAS
neekoal replied to jennaleigh1992's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
I used Matthew St. Laurent in Cypress, not much farther and I trust him completely, what a great doctor. He works out of Willowbrook and North Cypress Med Ctr, I haven't met Collier but I can tell you NOT to use Dr Wilkenfeld in Conroe. -
Moving from band to sleeve
neekoal replied to shannon crotts's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Sounds like you have a classy hubby there. I had a revision in early December, just now beginning to even want food. Up until now I had to force myself to eat, as of this morning I am down 34 pounds. The last week and a half have been super slow, a little up a little down, but as long as I'm still down I'm happy! Good luck to you and if you have any questions feel free to message. -
Wow, this thread went from cheeseburgers, to pickles, to hating, to cat fighting, to gay pride, to openly flirting, to Chinese food and at last post was on post surgery BM's. I'm exhausted!
