  1. Chips and beer!!!!! It's just horrible. I eat so well most of the time, getting in my protein, my vitamins, fluids, etc, but a few evenings a week, I put back a full serving of chips and a couple beers. It's my weakness. It's so much less than a binge would've been presleeve, but it makes me feel SO guilty!!!!

    Shoulder Pain

I thought it was more of a pain from stress or tension too until I realized it happens anytime I eat or drink. I have a heat pack on my shoulder now. I tried to eat a boca burger on a sandwich thin and I didn't tolerate it well at all, so the pain is more intense than usual.
  3. Does anybody else experience pain in your left shoulder every time you eat or drink? It's taken me forever to put this together. It's the same pain you feel after laprascopic surgery, but less intense, thank goodness. It's becoming quite bothersome though.

No Motivation For 6 Month Sup. Diet

I started the six month medically supervised diet and gained every month for three months. It was so stressful. Finally I gave up on insurance and took out a personal loan and had te surgery. Now I'm 9 weeks post op and down 40 pounds. My failure on preop diet didn't impact my great success with the sleeve. It's the tool you need to succeed!!! Good luck!

    Coffee?

I detoxed off coffee before surgery, but got a skinny vanilla latte at Starbucks after my one week post op check and haven't looked back. I even bought an espresso machine and make my own low fat sugar free lattes now. It's a good source of protein with the milk! I'm 9 weeks post op and down 40 pounds and drink a LOT of coffee!!!

    The That Would Never Come

    Yay for you!!! Good luck!!
  7. I invested in a zip able 3 ring binder and several baseball card holder sheets. I made sections with dividers and I can whiz through my book and I save tons of money!!!
  8. I just received my big canister of isopure unflavored I ordered off bariatric eating. Any suggestions on how to use it? I'm SO done with any kind of shake or smoothie!!!! I'm 4w2d post op. TIA!!
  9. I am 4 weeks 2 days post op and have been logging my calories in my fitness pal for a week. I'm getting anywhere from 650 calories/day all the way up to 1100 one day. I can find all kinds of information about what foods to eat and portion sizes, but what about actual calorie intake? My 1100 calorie day was because I juiced some fruits, added a banana and a protein shot and sipped on it over a couple hours. My Fitness Pal tells me everyday that I'm eating too few calories, but I think we're unique due to the nature of our surgery. Sure would love to know how many calories others are taking in.
  10. I was sleeved December 28th and am on a pureed diet. I log all my food into My Fitness Pal and am getting about 800 calories/day. I have lost 24 pounds and have only lost about 1 pound in the past week. Is this too many calories? Of course fitness pal informs me my metabolism is going to diminish due to lack of calories, but there's no way I could take in 1290 like they're suggesting without eating or drinking junk. How many calories is everybody else getting around 4 weeks post-op?

    I'm Preop b***h.

Be comforted to know that even though you'll be on clear liquids after surgery also, you won't feel the blood sugar lows, the crankiness and hunger just DISAPPEAR!!!!!!! You can do it!!!!

Week 6-- Only 6 More Pounds To Onederland

Wow this motivated me! My heaviest weight was 265, goal weight 150, I'm 5'8" and I'm doing the couch to 5K program. So many similarities. However, I am 4 weeks post op and I didn't lose any weight before surgery, so I'm still at 241. I feel I'm a little stalled, but I have not been in the gym every day. I'm still trying hard to find time to work out with a full time+ job and three kids. Sigh. Any advice? And thank you for posting this. I'm 10x more motivated than 10 minutes ago!

    Feeling Sick

What kind of solids are you eating? I had my sleeve the day after you and I am on pureed foods. Cottage cheese and tuna salad are about the closest thing to regular food I eat and even then I chew it up like crazy. Did this happen before you started solid foods? Have you checked your heart rate during one of these episodes? Also, I can really only eat 1/3 cup at the most. I ate a boiled egg once and it stuck at the top of my stomach, caused a lot of pain and I ended up having to vomit. That was the only time. Other times I've had one bite too many or didn't chew quite good enough and I get a pretty bad pain. I would back off solids until you got this resolved.
