    November sleevers

7 pounds is great. The cream soups are nice. After sweet shakes, protein Waters, jello and pudding. I miss savory food and salt haha. I'm off work until December 14th. I actually will probably be fine to go back sooner but my doctor started off work worst case scenario if 6 weeks since I get short term disability. Are you allowed Tylenol? That has made a world of difference for me. I take the pm one at night and had my first good sleep last night. One day at a time. We can do this! Sent from my XT1635-01 using BariatricPal mobile app

    17lbs down.......

Fantastic. I am almost 5 days post-op and am down 10 pounds from my last weight in 7 days ago. I still wonder if it is worth it when I am smelling delicious food that I am unable to eat. I know it will be worth it in the long run but let's face it, it took years of eating poorly for me to get into a situation that requires surgery to fix. I'm not going to magically stop thinking about food overnight. It's going to take tough love and a complete reprogramming of my mind. One day at a time. Started liquid diet on the 31st

I think having a pre op diet will help you in the long run. My doctor doesn't do a pre op diet and now this post op diet is killing me. Everything smells so delicious! There's so many food commercials on TV, in magazines, on billboards... You can do it! Stay strong. Sent from my XT1635-01 using BariatricPal mobile app

    November sleevers

I'm struggling with getting enough fluids too. At least I'm allowed ricotta cheese, cream soups, jello, pudding etc too but I'm still only averaging about 300-400 calories a day and struggling with enough water. It feels like so much work to constantly sip sip sip. I sometimes forget for a couple hours at a time. Sent from my XT1635-01 using BariatricPal mobile app

    November sleevers here

Now that I'm almost 5 days out my energy level has dialed back a bit. I didn't realize how much the pain meds in hospital made a difference. I'm not taking the oxy they prescribed me but a Tylenol now and then is helpful. I'm walking about 2 miles a day and that's in half mile increments at a time. Pretty much eat a meal (aka drink a shake) then go for a half mile loop. Sent from my XT1635-01 using BariatricPal mobile app

    Meal Prep Sunday

Those look so delicious. I'm only 5 days out so still have a long way to go before I get to eat real food like that. Sent from my XT1635-01 using BariatricPal mobile app
  7. Oh good I'm glad I'm not the only one. It's only temporary. My husband told me not to worry about him because he knows I love to cook delicious aromatic meals and he does not want to put me into a position where it will make my life hell. He'll cook this less smelling foods or grab a quick bite on the way home. 6 weeks. We just have to survive 6 weeks. I did cook him a steak and garlic bread made with freshly roasted garlic because the ribeye was in the freezer and he's been such a good sport. But oh man. That food smells soooooo good. 2 hours later and it's still lingering. Sent from my XT1635-01 using BariatricPal mobile app
  8. It's ok. Very sweet. I keep it at room temp and pour it over ice and by the time I get through 8 ounces it's just about perfect from there melted ice. Sent from my XT1635-01 using BariatricPal mobile app

One month out and feeling good!

lol I stocked up with like a 3 month supply of protein drink mixes, protein water, SF jello and pudding, bone broth, creamed soups, Greek yogurt... After what I've been able to get down there last year days I realized it's probably actually 6+ months worth of supplies considering I'm only eating a tablespoon here and a teaspoon there. Heck one small box of Jello will serve me twice a day for a week. Plus, my taste buds are suddenly changing and I'm not even enjoying my meals except the protein shakes which thankfully I still love. 12. I'm only 3 days post op. The day before surgery I made a batch of my favorite SF lemon jello and a batch of SF chocolate pudding. Previously those would each be 4 servings for me. I served up a tablespoon and ate some of both today and stopped after 2 tiny bites because I just was not enjoying them. Yesterday they were yummy. Today they just did not make my mouth say yummy and I didn't want to waste calories by eating something I wasn't enjoying. It seems like my taste buds are slowly changing day by day. Most be my body's way of telling me I don't need something. Sent from my XT1635-01 using BariatricPal mobile app

    Anyone else hate Gatorade?

Protein20 is strong. Like super sweet. I water mine down until I can handle it. It's almost like I get two bottles for the price of one. Sent from my XT1635-01 using BariatricPal mobile app

    3 days out and hungry

Following. Three days post op and I feel like I'm starving. Yesterday I was able to get down 1 protein shake, 1/2 cup chicken bone broth, 1 tsp chocolate sugarfree pudding mixed with 1 tsp non fat ricotta cheese, 1 tablespoon Greek yogurt, 1 sugarfree popsicle, and about 1 - 20 oz bottle of water. I also walked about 3 miles. I feel like I have done nothing but eat and drink constantly. I'm exhausted from thinking about what I need to eat and when. I went to sleep last night asking myself what the heck I have done to myself. I have lost 10 pounds since Monday through this morning (Saturday) (6-days). I hope a day comes when I don't feel like I'm starving to death. Sent from my XT1635-01 using BariatricPal mobile app

    Pain near old port site

I had my band removed in February 2017 and have had phantom port pain ever since. They just did my sleeve surgery on Nov. 1 and I still have this old phantom port pain now paired with the pain of the new surgery. I hope that with time it will go away. I know this post was started months ago so how is everyone doing now? Sent from my XT1635-01 using BariatricPal mobile app

    RNY November 2017

I know how you feel. It's been a somewhat rough day with out all the hospital pain meds. I've only walked about 1.5 miles. Low energy plus I seemed to get winded pretty quickly. I found protein Waters online and at the grocery before surgery. There's no way I want to be out shopping right now. Give it a few days and we will be kicking butt on this weight loss! I feel like I am having to put too much effort into meal/liquid/protein planning. I'm just not hungry and it seems if I don't think about what I need I might be missing opportunities to get down what I need. It's quite exhausting to be thinking about it constantly. Yes, getting the protein in has been difficult. I'm on stage 3 diet so I'm allowed yogurt and ricotta cheese. I'm not a fan of Greek yogurt but I found it's more palatable if I add a little stevia. So two stevia packets to one container of yogurt. Stir. Then at meal time I mix 1 tsp of the yogurt with 1 tsp of the non fat ricotta cheese, I also get sugar free pudding, cream of wheat, creamed soups ect. That gives my protein a little boost. Plus a half a protein shake in between. I also have protein water so I'm trying to make every bite and sip count for my protein. Did they send you home with those little tiny medicine cups? My nurse gave me about a dozen and I'm doing like you. Filling them, lining them up and sipping on them as often as I am able. Have you been able to get out and walk. I just mapped my apartment complex and it's just about a half mile around the perimeter so I'm trying to do one or two laps every hour that I'm awake. 22. How are you feeling today Sunshine? I'm a little more sore than yesterday but it's because I'm not being doped up with pain meds by nurses every few hours But it's tolerable. Keep your chin up. You'll be home soon and feeling great in no time at all. Sent from my XT1635-01 using BariatricPal mobile app

Hi Sunshine! How are you feeling? Mine was on Nov 1 also and I came home yesterday. How's your hydration? I have not been able to get as much liquids down as I'm supposed to but I'm trying real hard. I think yesterday I topped out under 40 ounces. Gonna try to remember to sip sip sip more today. Any pain? I'm feeling it a little more today since I'm not getting meds shot into my IV anymore but it's tolerable so I have not had to take anything since I got home. I finally got a beautiful hot shower today and that felt wonderful! I'm going to go out for a walk in a few minutes. Sent from my XT1635-01 using BariatricPal mobile app

    November sleevers

I had a two week vacation planned for like a year before my surgery was even scheduled. In fact there surgery was scheduled for the first available spot afterwards so it was only 2 days after I returned home. So my big day actually rolled around pretty fast at the end! Your day will be here before you know it. Good luck! Sent from my XT1635-01 using BariatricPal mobile app
