  2. Wonderful! I can't wait to get where you are. Well I've always chilled easily and had to carry sweaters everywhere even in the middle of summer. But I am looking forward to everything else! Sent from my XT1635-01 using BariatricPal mobile app

    64oz A Day, Really?????

Sip sip sip all day long. It's a full time job. Heaven forbid you take a nap or get busy and forget for an hour or two because you just threw off the whole days schedule! That's where I struggle the most too. Getting enough liquids in throughout the day between waking up and going back to sleep. I noticed now that I can actually drink a little more than previously. Instead of 2 Oz's every 10 minutes I'm able to drink 2-3 ounces in 5 minutes. It goes through me fast so I'm not worried about it sitting in my stomach stretching it out. It feels like I'm drinking and peeing all day long constantly non stop. Sent from my XT1635-01 using BariatricPal mobile app

  5. Hi. I am 36 hours post-op. Before I had the surgery I advised my husband he'll have to fend for himself for a few weeks. We are older ( no more kids at home) and he was a bachelor for a while before we got married a year ago so he's pretty self sufficient. I'm just wondering how everyone else does it. I'm just afraid to be around food that I know I love when I'm only allowed this liquid diet portion of recovery. I don't want to get into a position where I might be tempted to cheat and ruin my new stomach. Is anyone else making their significant other fend for themselves? What about those with children at home. How are you managing meal prep and not being tempted? Sent from my XT1635-01 using BariatricPal mobile app
  6. Same. It's just me and hubby and he said he was fine fending for himself and he might even be lose the 15 pounds he gained since we met and I started cooking for him 6 years ago. However, I broke down and cooked him a steak on Sunday and chicken breasts yesterday. He deserved it. He has been such a wonderful support for me this whole time! I cooked extra chicken yesterday so now he can have salad with grilled chicken and quesadillas with chicken this week too. Sent from my XT1635-01 using BariatricPal mobile app

    November sleevers here

They provided me the meals that I was allowed. I did have to add a packet of Splenda to that yogurt because it was plain and gross and I poured the shake over ice to thin it a little. For lunch I got a bowl of tomato soup. [emoji106] Sent from my XT1635-01 using BariatricPal mobile app

It sounds like you'll be on what my doctor calls phase 2. Below is a copy of what my phase 2 clear liquids looked like. Sent from my XT1635-01 using BariatricPal mobile app

    Week ONE clear liquids

Every surgeon is different. What did yours advise you when you went to meet for your pre-op appointment? Mine doesn't require a clear liquid diet after the first day so I'm on shakes and stuff like pudding, cottage cheese, ricotta cheese, cream soups etc. I have to get down 64 ounces of liquid and 70-80 grams of protein each day. It's supposed to take me 10 minutes to drink every ounce but I can drink a couple ounces in that time. I left the hospital the day after surgery on the stage 3 phase of my plan. I've heard my doctor is more generous as other doctors require clear broths and liquids for the first 2-3 weeks. Please ask you doctor what plan he follows!!! There's a good variety of protein water on the market that will help you meet your protein goals. I found mine on Amazon or at the grocery. They are too sweet so I water them down about 50/50. I get about two bottles for each one which also helps with your liquid requirements. I struggle with meeting my requirements. It feels like an all day constant chore and I sometimes forget to sip for a couple hours and that can throw me way off track. Sent from my XT1635-01 using BariatricPal mobile app

    August Sleevers-How are you doing??

My doctor requires you to sustain for 3 months but I've heard of other doctors that say to wait 6 months or a year. Yes, I have heard that it does affect you much faster with smaller quantities. Sent from my XT1635-01 using BariatricPal mobile app

Yes. My doctor put one on while they were prepping me for surgery and I was allowed to remove it after 48 hours with strict disposal and hand wash instructions. Sent from my XT1635-01 using BariatricPal mobile app

Bmi 35 Need To Lose 75 Lbs

Thank you! I'm very similar to you in stats (age 50 (a month shy of 51), a smidge over 200 pounds and depending on who measured me last I'm somewhere between 5"2 and 5"3) and was sleeved 5 days ago! I just ordered a Kindle copy of your book! I'm looking forward to seeing how your whole first year of this journey went. Sent from my XT1635-01 using BariatricPal mobile app

    November sleevers here

Welcome, and congratulations on taking such an important step. I was also sleeved on Nov. 1. I had some nausea in recovery and threw up a couple times before they even got me to a room. I came home the next day and each day seems a little better. I'm struggling with getting in all my protein and fluids right now but I'm making extra efforts. How's your energy level so far today? Mine is tanked. I need to have some lunch and go for a walk. Sent from my XT1635-01 using BariatricPal mobile app

I find the shakes to be too thick for my pallet so I added about 4 ounces of unsweetened original or vanilla almond milk to mine too thin it up and make it easier to get down. You can do this! I know it seems difficult. But just get through today. Keep hydrated. Drink your water. Each day is a new day. So just keep doing one day at a time. Good luck! OK Ladies, kinda embarrasing question for you all

Sadly I was not cathed and I threw up twice in recovery which caused me to pee all over the bed. The very kind nurse got me up (I was mostly out of it) and washed me with a clean cloth while someone changed the bedding. Luckily there was a pee pad under me so it wasn't too bad. No dripping to the floor or anything. Anyway while the nurse was washing my booty I told her she must be my best friend because only a best friend would wash your a$$ after you've peed yourself. We all had a great laugh and then I zonked back out as soon as I was back in bed. Sent from my XT1635-01 using BariatricPal mobile app

That time of the month during surgery.

I've been on or started my TOM (Time of the month) a couple times for surgery. They gave me a mesh panty and pad. No big deal. I'm almost 5 days sleeve post op. I only had one night at the hospital and there was no Cath thank God. Sent from my XT1635-01 using BariatricPal mobile app

    Clothing for Hospital

I brought a robe so that I could take walks without mooning everyone on the ward. I also brought a toothbrush and toothpaste, 1 pair of pajamas (because I get so cold and knew the hospital Johnny would not be adequate warmth) I brought a Super soft fluffy blanket, phone and charger, chapstick because my lips always get so dry, hairbrush and pony tail things, 2 clean pairs of panties, and slippers with actual rubber soles. I wore the same pants home but brought a clean blouse because I didn't want any cooties close to my incisions from previously worn clothing. Even if I did only wear it for 2 hours on the way to the hospital. My hubby had a nice new bottle of water for me for the ride home. Sent from my XT1635-01 using BariatricPal mobile app

    November sleevers here

My surgery was Nov 1 and I can drink about 2-3 ounces in a couple minutes and then wait 10-15 minutes and drink another 2-3 ounces. Liquid moves through me fast. However, with that said, I tend to forget to take drinks so I sometimes go 2-3 hours without taking a drink. I was averaging about 40 ounces a day (shakes, water, broth combined) but I think yesterday I got up to 64 ozs because my husband was home reminding me to sip sip sip all day.
