Congrats on a safe surgery! Glad everything went well! I was not hungry at all at first and I have lost 22 pounds since 1/19. This is the best thing I have done for myself!

I take care of my Dad he lives with us and have 3 teens I know where you're coming from!

Looking forward to onederland! It is 18 pounds away, but I feel good about this! I know I will get there!

@ hdavis72- I am in the same place as you. I seem to have fallen a little these past couple of days and making valentines Cookies for the kids did not help, but wouldn't have missed it...tradition! Anyways I am going to go back on a liquid diet so I can get back to where I was. I have been doing so well it is amazing what a slip up can do. Going to try and reboot my mind for lapband success. CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR WEIGHT LOSS! I hope I can say the same next year!

Good luck! This is the best decision I have made for myself! Feels so good to be doing something for me! I was banded in January and love my new life! All your emotions are normal. You are going to do great!

I was banded the middle of January and this has been a little overwhelming for me to figure out how to eat. I am doing a little better now but it definitely takes a conscious effort while eating! I try not to eat when I am in a hurry and chew chew chew so I can let the brain get the message that I am full. It is almost as if you have to think "o.k. am I full yet?" If I can do that now I think it will get easier. I was supposed to have a fill tomorrow, but the Dr had to cancel. I was looking forward to my first fill becasue I have done well without one so far, but my willpower is wearing thin. So the next appointment is in 2 weeks. It is going to take constant thought when eating not to hurry, weight food and staick with the plan! I might try rebooting myself, with a liquid diet for 2 days. It will get better. It's just a whole new game. This is America and we learn to eat in quantity. I read a book" why French women don't get fat" What it said is that they eat to taste not to get full and it is actually true. I would much rather have good food and savor the taste.

I am newly banded and have lost 22 pounds since January first. I know my reason for doing this is for my health first. I am doing ti for me, but looking at it in a different light I am also doing it for My kids. I am taking care of thema nd I need to be here to do that. I have put a picture of the three of them on in the front dash of my car. I did that so I can remember although I need this for me I also want it for them. I would like to meet my Grandchildren someday! good luck!

I'd ask" what do they mean about gas pains?"

I definitely had a last big meal! Steak and Lobster! I also had a check list I had going a longtime before surgery of all my favorite foods I really like and had them all one last time! Greek,Chinese, caramel corn, Burger and fries, Japanese, Sushi....I enjoyed them all and dont regret it at all. I am doing great right now I am down from244 in beginning of January to 223 today post lap band! I say go for it and Enjoy!

I would say the Portion Control overall is the goal of having the lap band . I would suggest you cut portions so that the weight loss can be achieved. I know I try to eat smaller amounts just on my own because I want to get to my goal weight as soon as I can. Good luck!

I couldn't eat or drink a thing the gas pains were so bad! I found a product called Phazyme for gas. It has the maximum dose of simethicone (gas reliever) worked very well. Hate to say it burping and tooting helped and I am not a fan of either, but I did what ever it took. It took me about a week. Hang in there it will pass! Best wishes on your journey!

This makes me nervous! I was banded on the 19th of January and lost 13 pounds. I weigh 225 now, but I am afraid it will come to a stop and not lose more. I was 244 at the beginning of January. So I had lost some before surgery too. Hope to lose 1-2 pounds a week. First fill in a week. Good luck. I think switching up the exercise type you do is a good thing too or skip a day or 2 for a little while because I think your body gets used to a certain schedule and doesnt respond as well to doing the same thing each time.

I love this Soup. I was a week out of surgery and it was my Daughters 18th Birthday. We went to a japanese steak house (her request) and was wondering what I'd eat. This is very filling!

Happy Birthday!

All normal feelings, but it will pass just hang in there and you won't regret it at all. Especially when you see the numbers on the scale going downward! The first week was not so comfortable and actually not comfortable at all, but it passes! Hang in there- we've all been there and we are here to support you!

I had my first op appt yesterday too! Went down 15 pounds and 12 days post-op. Going to start walking today with a friend and hopefully riding an exercise bike at home. CONGRATULATIONS very encouraging!

I have the same problem with my best friend(since Kindergarten). She has always been overweight when we grew up and I was small. When I mentioned to her that I was going to have the surgery she was so negative and not suppotive at all. She said she'd have to be in the 'Fat club" all by herself? It's not like we have ever had a fat club I think she just doesn't want me to be thinner. I am doing this for my health. She said I am looking older since I ve started to lose weight. I told her I realize that might happen, but what I want is to be healthy so if I look older at least I will still be alive! Its kind of pointless otherwise! So I just take it with a grain of salt and stay away from the subject as much as possible. good luck!
