I do not think that you current dr. can by law withhold your medical records for any reason. You have the right to them. I have fallen off the wagon a bit in a rutt and struggling with this. I have gained back 3 pounds recently because I have no will power. My band is tight but I keep pushing it. I feel like Im giving up on myself...not a good feeling. good luck. sometimes we have to do things that are not comfortable but i assure you that stepping outside your comfort zone might just relieve the stress you feel right now!

Any info on a syracuse lap band support group yet???

You have the love and support from your significant other...that is priceless! I plain don't stand in front of a mirror naked...not a good idea...and totally unnecessary. Just don't do it! Listen to him. I know that I would much rather have some extra skin than I would be dead at a young age! I did this for my health, I did not want to get diabetes or any other obesity related medical issue! You are doing great and for god sake stay away from the mirror naked! lol Once again a lucky girl to have the support of him!!!

I have chosen who I want to tell. I preferred not to tell many people just because I don't want to be "watched" to see how I am doing. So far I have found that the people i did tell have respected my wish not to tell others. I know the weight loss will show, but I know someone else who had it done and people are constantly asking him. I don't want that kind of attention. I just thought there would be too much pressure for me to lose weight for other people and not my own personal journey. I have found I do better when I am not under pressure. I am sure that plenty of people want the support, but I was afraid of failing or having to prove myself. I work at a school and we work closely together. I see everyone everyday. Good luck with your journey!

Hi! I am getting my first fill tomorrow too! I have not had a fill and my surgery was jan 19th. So I have been doing this all will power. There have been a lot of things I had been dealing with and for one reason or another it has been put off til now. My Dad died and that took a lot of energy to care for him, I really didnt have a minute to think about myself. So instead of setting myself up for failure, I put it off til now. I am not really nervous about pain, I am more worried about what kind of changes will happen once the band is tightened. Do you know how much Fluid they are going to put in your band??? Good luck tomorrow! Let me know how you did!

11 pounds! Good job! I still have not had a fill surgery was 1/19. My first fill will be on 1/17. I am sure that my Dr. will not be pleased. I have lost 21pounds since surgery, but surgery was 4 months ago. I think the 11 pounds is great! Don't let anyone dictate how you feel about your progress. It is only you that will find what drives you in this battle and if something makes you feel good about yourself (ie. lost 11 pounds) that is what will keep you going! Insist on the information. This is your journey...not theirs!

I would also like to know if there is a Syracuse lap band support group outside of the city. Maybe there might be someone who might coordinate one. I went pre-op and now it is 3 months out and I could use a boost and support from others that live this!

When i am trying tops on and they are size XL I actually read it again when i take it off and check it again thinking it couIdn't be! I am just around the corner from no more Plus size shopping! I might actually like shopping soon! Congratulations to you!

Thought I would be doing better, but I haven't had a fill yet so it has gotten much harder. still chugging along. Congrats to all those who lost this week!

I know one of the reasons they do the psych eval. is because some people who have underlying reasons for their eating disorder/habits may need counseling before and or after the surgery to deal with the issues that may have gotten them to this point. It will be fine. It was kind of like going to the principals office. Nerve racking, but it's all good! You will be fine!

You might want to try going back to liquids for a few days, then mushies and work your way back up. Kind of reboot your body and your mind. Get you Water in too!

I know when I see an ad for food and the plate is overflowing I think are you crazy! How did I ever eat that much! I definitely think our portions in the U.S. are way tooo big! What makes me cringe now is seeing premade food that is full of preservatives and fat. Ewww! How did i eat that....and why???

You are going to need all the rest you can get to heal. I know I went back to work in 4 days and I was exhausted, I felt like there were bricks tied around my ankles. Take advantage of resting now! My pain was not too bad. I found the port site to be more uncomfortable. Just be patient and listen to your body. Best wishes!

At your height and weight you should be approved. Good luck!
