  1. Hey ! Tender is a great way to put it. I had the 2incision lapband and i tell you what this left side is killing me! Im 4 days out now and today i think i overdid it. I went for a drive by myself ( not really sure what my dr said), but i just couldnt stay in the house anymore. Visited my parents about 45min. Away then took a nap at my sisters on the way home. By time i got home i was in quite a bit of pain. Took a loooong hotshower and just now am starting on my second Protein Shake. I switched to nectar sweets brand chocolate. My sheet says i can have skim milk so i mixed it with that and i seem to be doing better. I was tired of pooping!( sorry to be gross). Having issues with constantly needing to sneeze, and tonight im very tearful. I think its because im such a go getter and right now im not seeing the light at the end where i will feel like myself again..........

  2. Hey- I'm just three days out and have heard my stomach growling, but no hunger pains as of yet. My Protein Shakes are finally running right through me so I think I need to up my Water. Its so hard getting all my fluids, all my Protein etc in. I've been off pain meds since yesterday. I just want to feel like my old self. I don't like not having energy. I've been gradually doing things around the house. Great job on your weight loss so far! Thats promising and inspiring! I've yet to get on a scale. Figured I would wait until my first appt. Keep me posted. We can do this!

  3. I was banded on Monday, and I am swollen. I started burping in recovery and still burping. I figure it is gas. I just started passing gas out the other side. And I was rejoicing...LOL I have not had a bowel movement yet. Actually, I am afraid to because of the pressure on my abdomen. I graduated from the recliner to the bed last night. I handling my clear liquid diet like a champ. I just got an appetite today. But, I can't get down alot right now. I swear there must be Fluid in my band. But anywho...Im doing alot better today. Because the past few days were miserable!

Last night i stayed in the recliner and didnt sleep to good. Might try the bed tonight. When i breath in deep my left side pulls. Im backing down on my loratab to every 5hrs and 10ml instead if 15ml. I havent been hungry at all, hope that feeling lasts!

  4. I'm not feeling that bloating everyone talks about? My surgeon "suspends" the liver out of the way with sutures anchoring it up. Not sure if everyone does that. Overall, I'm doing great. Getting my fluids/60g Protein Shakes in and thank God I finally pooped today (sorry to be so forthcoming!) Glad the site is back up. I was kind of going through withdrawls. Feeling slightly weak, but making myself get up and do little things around the house. Hope you all are well!

  5. I've been so busy with my photobooth business (Thank God!) over this last weekend with a big wedding show that the time has FLOWN by! Can't believe tomorrow is here. I have to arrive by 0930. Was NOT very impressed with not finding out my surgery time/arrival until after 5:00pm today, AND after I called them twice. People have to make arrangements, etc. I truly get surgery scheduling because I'm a surgery nurse, but really? Finding out my surgery time at 5:30pm the night before surgery? Kind of re-donk-ulous.

I'm getting ready to go scrub-a-dub-dub! See you all on the skinny side!

  6. Hi, I'm Tiana I aaam 18 years old, and I'm about 3 weeks away from my lap band surgery date. I am 325, my BMI is 52 ( shocking I know!). My overall goal weight is 150. And I think it's very doable for me.

I decided to have the lap band on my 18th birthday. When I decided I needed to do something about my weight was when I was unable to fit on a ride at Hersey Park, then found myself google fat friendly amusement parks. I then realized it wasn't the parks that needed to change, it was myself. I love amusement parks.

I start my two week diet on Friday, yippy, I think that's all. K, bai!

Tiana! Congratulations on taking back your life NOW! Reading your post, you literally had me in tears. If I could turn back the clock and start this process at your age, I think we all would. You are not alone in this, and I too was told to get off a ride (as everyone is sitting there starting at me knowing why I was asked to get off). If you need any support at all please email. So excited for you! teeth_smile.gif

Hi horsegirl- you should be fine. Surgery of course there are risks, but unless you have extreme health issues youll be fine. Dont freak yourself out too much.

    1. When I go to my highschool reunion ( c' mon you knew there would be a highschool reference right?) All my classmates will say " You look the Same as you did in highschool!

  9. My surgery is on january 20th and i'm SUPER nervous!!! I think my mom is even more nervous than I am. I've been waiting 7 months for this. I'm more worried about the fact that every family celebration we have is centered around food. How do I stop myself from getting depressed about this?

My family also is centered around food. My husbands as well. I will have to work on this I'm sure.

  10. Hi Mich! Sending peaceful and calming thoughts for your blood pressure. Hopefully if your PCP got you on meds right away, you will be under control enough for surgery. My EKG was abnormal, but I had a stress test done two years ago. I talked to the hospital today to make sure there weren't going to be any surprises day of surgery, and I think so far so good. Hang in there!

  11. Thank you all for your response. It is really easy to get frustrated, but I am only human. I'm just one of those type A personalities.

I agree with Patty Girl that this site is for all of us bandsters to stick together! Some of my family doesn't even understand, stating well can't you just do it on your own. I too am completely a Type A personality which is where I think we get in to trouble, because we CAN"T control this sometimes. Keep positive!

  12. First off thank you for your honesty. Secondly get the word failure out of your vocabulary. I have not had the surgery yet, but I've been overweight yo-yo up and down my entire life. We self sabotage our success. For every "failure", you need to recognize a success, like the fact that you took a step to save your life! Start from scratch. Take today and make it yours. Your surgeon is not your enemy, he's there to help. Prayers for you in getting back on track. Thank you again for posting!

  13. Shay that's so awesome! Congrats. Can't wait to be reporting my surgery is done as well. How are you feeling today? I put myself on a Protein liquid (revised to one high protein meat meal at dinner since my doctor didn't require diet) and so far I've lost 9lbs this week! I've never peed so much in my life. I've given up soda cold turkey but definitely still drinking tea for the caffeine! Keep us posted, hope you are feeling well!

  14. My doctor doesnt require pre-op diet. Im 7 days away. Im doing a high Protein diet. So far today its been ok. Everyones body is different. I would talk with your surgeon, maybe a nutritionist. I was fortunate to be at a center of excellence where they require on going nutrition classes, etc. Good luck in your journey!

  15. My surgery is tomorrow and i am definitly nervous!!!! My hubby and I are checked into our hotel and wow I am nervous. I am so hungry and all I can hope is that I will be myself again soon. I am just going with the plan right now - on autopiolet.

Best of luck Shay! Will be thinking of you tomorrow and sending positive vibes your way! Keep us posted!
