Anyone Not Feeling Negative?
mags2u replied to littlerlou's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I just want to take a moment and thank you. Your posts have been encouraging to me and I know others and although I'm only 1 month out and things are going well, I look to banders that have gone before us for support, encouragement, examples and just really wanted to thank you. You've made a difference and hope you continue to stay on this site! -
Are You Sure You Don't Want Anything To Drink?
mags2u commented on mags2u's blog entry in Is that a Fat Joke?
It actually was easier than I thought. It becomes a game. I just look at the clock on my phone when I'm done eating and know what time I can drink. I actually practiced before surgery. I think it helped to do that to get used to it. But also, you will be full. Its weird, but it just works itself out. -
Are You Sure You Don't Want Anything To Drink?

I'm thrilled to death with my weight loss. I think because I've worked for it to. I work with a girl who had the sleeve done over a year ago. She lost quickly, but didn't work for it. She still doesn't exercise, she eats like **** and I'm proud at the fact that I've had to use some restraint. I HAVE been hungry between meals. This was such a life changing decision. I'm following my nutritionists recommendations, I'm exercising, so it feels real to have lost what I've lost. My goal is to lose another 50lbs by July and I know I can do it. Have you been filled yet? I just got filled today and LOOOOOVEEE being full between meals (only liquids today!). Keep in touch! -
Didn't hurt at all! They give you lidocaine injection (feels like a sweat bee sting) and then you don't feel the port needle at all. It was over before I knew it. Filled with 2cc today. I'm definitely full just even on the liquids/protein shakes. I did eat some very watered down cream of mushroom soup and did fine. Tomorrow I'm on mushies. Now I think the challenge will be getting all my water in between meals since I'm full. Hopefully this will last a while.

Got my UNJURY shakes today! What a difference. Tastes much better. Thanks for the suggestion!

With having to get 60g Protein in, which Ive been pretty right on I thought we could share any tricks of getting extra protein in. My favorite is WonderSlim chocolate pudding -15g and add 1/4c riccotta cheese (skim)-7g. It makes it really creamy and very filling!

Thanks for the reminder of the protein processing limits our body has. Thats why I love this site- it keeps us all up to date! I ordered the Unjury shakes. Should be getting them soon! I haven't really had any issues getting all my protein in either. I DID discover however that Prudence (my band's name) does NOT like 100%wheat sandwich thins! OMG I thought I was dying.

Just wondering when everyone is going for their first fill? I'm February 9th. I've really started craving a lot more than I have but I'm doing good. Down 23lbs and hope to be down 25lbs by the 9th.

What To Mix With Greek Yogurts (Plain Or Vanilla)
mags2u replied to shues138's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
My nutritionist told me to avoid the ones with fruit already in the because they have about 17g sugar. I mix peaches packed in water (drained) or I mix my protein powder in it. I prefer ricotta cheese over Greek yogurt. It stays with me longer. -
Im getting filled Thursday! Super excited about being full. Ive done great losing 25lbs since the 10th of Jan. But it will be nice to have a little more restriction. Our ports are not directly at the incision site so thats why they go in at a different site. Congrats on your weightloss! Are you on clears fill day then mushies for one day?

Awesome!

Oh my goodness! What a success story! You are an inspiration to me as I've just started my journey a month ago. My goal was to be down 25lbs at my 1 month bandiversary and I made it today (3 days shy!) Congrats! Thats exciting to see long-term results to all of us newbies!

Well I'm totally committed (or my husband would say I need to BE committed!) to exercising. I know that the scale staying at 18lbs lost for a week was because I needed to get up and shake what my momma gave me! I am doing Zumba on Tuesdays/Thursdays, but I was searching for something I could do at home. Low and behold, I bought the Just Dance 3 for the Wii. HIGHLY recommend! Everynight when my hubby goes to bed I get my controller strapped on to my wrist and I go to town. I'm sure if anyone was videotaping me I would go viral instantly because I'm sure that is a funny site to see! It actually lets you keep track of your week and your "sweat points". Not sure really what that means, but I'll take it! NSV of the week: Going back to work and having two boxes of Krispy Kreme GLAZED donuts on the table and not even having a desire to eat one!

Absolutely LOVE myfitnesspal.com! All of the girls at work do it- helps so much to keep track! Couldn't do this journey without it!

Tips For Starting Exercise
mags2u replied to MissManders's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm a ZuMbA girl. It is simple dance/aerobics without having to be a dancer. It is for all fitness levels, and can be modified to your needs. It keeps me motivated! I also do the Wii Just Dance 3. Good luck! -
LOL Suzi- when I bought my first house, I called my mom and said, "hey mom, I don't know what I'm doing wrong but my mashed potatoes don't look right." She said, "why what do they look like" and I replied, "Well they're white?" I ALWAYS thought they were yellow because my mom cooked with so much butter!

I Got Banded Today And I Feel Pretty Good
mags2u replied to stac7975's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Congrats and glad to see you are home and feeling well. Keep us posted on how you are doing! -
I can distinctly remember at one point my first week out walking down my hallway hunched over going "Dear Lord why did I do this!" It was a split second thought. The symptoms you are having are SO common. If you read others post, you are absolutely right on track. The good news? EVERYONE kept telling me hang in there, around day 6 or 7 you will turn the corner. And they were right. Are you walking? Even if it is in your house round and a round, walk walk and walk somemore. It seems its the only thing to help, as well as gas-x. They make a strip you can take too. You can get through this point. Hoping you starting turning the corner soon! Hang in there!
