I am not sure. I just thought that you might have some concerns that you thought could be important in preparing that you didn't think of in advance.

I am a serious diet mountain-dew junkie. So that's caffeine and diet soda in one! It is practically the only liquid I have consumed unless there was no other choice for the last 8-10 years. I am slowly weening myself. I have migraines and was afraid that going cold turkey would bring one on. I am down to 1 diet dew a day and I am drinking tons of zero vitamin water, fruit 2o and powder mix ins. I am not a big fan of the mio but I am getting in 6-8 of these water sources a day at 16-20 ounces each! Huge accomplishment for me. I have only felt cruddy for the first couple of days at 1 a day. But it's getting better and once I am done I intend to always be done no need in ever going back! I think this will be mentally my biggest feat! We can so do this! My family never thought they would see the day I go to the grocery store and do not come home without my dews. I have left my house at 11 o'clock in a work night to go and get a 12 pack because I ran out and couldn't bear the thought of waking up and not having on waiting. Serious ADDICT here!

I Have migraines. I am nervous about not being able to take those medications for a month before surgery. I am currently on a preventative as well as 3 meds for treatment when I get a migraine. Does anyone else have these concerns or been through this already? I am hopeful that the number that I have will decrease after surgery.

Zen, I have never been able to find triggers for my migraines. But I will certainly find out if my diet affects them. I do take topamax. Funny you should say that, my husband researched them online was calling them dopamax. I have had some memory issues but they have gotten better. I was on it my first round for about a year I came off it for 9 months then decided I needed to give it another try bc the migraines were getting so frequent. It hasn't been as bad this go around. Thanks for sharing.

Me too! Hopefully we will both have less and less. I reconfirmed with the dr that I do have to come off everything but can take treatments meds for a migraine up till two weeks before surgery.

Hi fellow August sleevers. I am scheduled for August 10th, in Tijuana with Dr Kelly. I am 5'6" and about 255. I am so excited and ready to start my journey to a better me.

I agree. It can be scary to think of both on top of each other. I have my fingers crossed that neither of us will have to know what that's like but instead will have a migraine free experience. I am actually hoping that all the changes the sleeve will bring into my life will reduce that amount if migraines I have.

My dr told me I had to come off all meds except blood pressure(which I do not talk) one month before surgery even birth control pills.

Hi all. I have been lurking on these boards for sometime now. Thank you all for sharing your experiences, it has given me a certain peace of mind in going through the decision process. I have finally committed and set a date. I will be getting sleeved by Dr. Kelly on August 10th. I would love to hear from any other patients who will be there at that time.

Glad you heard from him so quickly. They are like that, so far I av been very pleased by all communications.

I was nervous that she wouldn't go with me bc she has had a couple of back surgeries and traveling is hard on her. But so very thankful I have her going with nothing like taking your best friend!

I am planning to bring my mom with me. Can't beat having momma there.
