Tried A New Protein Drink Today
kcsmicah replied to DebiC's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
You can also get the shakes at Sams Club...at least the chocolate ones. Price in Bama is 17.88 for a 12 pack. You can order them online too but they are more on their website at www.premiernutrition.com. I agree with everyone else these shakes are the best!!! -
Well tomorrow at 8:30 am I will officially be sleeved. I am soooooo excited but also sooooo nervous! Guess that's normal though. Everyone please say a prayer for me and the doctor that all goes well. I will post when I feel up to it!! Btw, I am calling my new sleeve "Nanner" cause it's shaped like a banana and I'm from Alabama....cute huh? So me and Nanner will check in soon....

And I Shall Call It Nanner....
kcsmicah replied to kcsmicah's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Me and Nanner are back in the hotel after surgery and I have been sleeved. Surgery went great, the doctor said I was a textbook case and everything went great. I am sitting in the hotel sipping on some propel zero and doing okay. I am walking every hour or so to help get rid of the gas pains which are pretty intense on my shoulders and chest. Hopefully that will go away soon. I will update more as I progress. Thank you for all the prayers and support! -
I had some labs done last week for allergy testing and my ALT level came back at 185. Now I am freaking out that the surgeon is gonna get in there and be like "Wow! Her liver is really fatty and I can't do this surgery !" Does a high ALT level mean that your liver is really fatty?? Any help from anyone that has been in this situation would be great!! My surgery is less than 72 hours away!!

kcsmicah replied to koriswlj's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am looking forward to being confident enough to have sex with the lights on!! I know that sounds silly but I have been married for 11 years and I am too self conscious to be with my hubby except in absolute darkness! Weird?? -

kcsmicah replied to koriswlj's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am on day 4 of two protein shakes and a lean and green dinner and I am down 6.4lbs. Only 11 days to go and I will officially be a sleevie!!! Yippee!!!!! Btw, found a new protein drink today and it's awesome. Its called Premier Protein and you buy it premade from wholesale stores like Sams or Costco!! They have no aftertaste like some I have tried. Message me if your surgery date is around the 20th so I have some buddies to lose with!! Good luck to everyone!!! -
Seeking Buddies 5'2" & Under
kcsmicah replied to ladymacwhiz's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I am 5'1 and currently at 237 on day three of my preop diet. My surgery is the 20th and I am sooooo ready!! -
My surgery is scheduled for the 20th in Las Vegas so I have been on the preop diet since the 6th and have dropped 6lbs. I think the weight loss each morning makes it easier for me to stick to the diet throughout the day. I am super excited but also pretty nervous!! Good luck to everybody!!!
-
Congrats on your date!!! Isn't it exciting?? I'm am being sleeved on the 20th so yesterday was my first liquid diet day. I will have to say it wasn't that bad! Good luck to you and keep us informed!

Does The Liquid Diet Get Any Easier?
kcsmicah replied to PreciousCargo's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Precious Cargo - my surgery is also the twentieth so I started my liquid diet today. I found that for today at least it helped me to drink beef or chicken broth in between my protein shakes. That at least made the hunger bearable. Good luck and stick with it!! -
Tomorrow begins my Gastric Sleeve journey as I embark on what is expected to be a miserable two week preop diet. My surgery is scheduled for 01/20/2012 with Dr Thomas Umbach in Las Vegas! I am a southern girl from Alabama so I will be traveling cross country to have this done. I am so excited but also very nervous!!! My pre-preop weight is 243 and I would like to be down to 180 by my 30th birthday in May and then ultimately down to 135 as I am only 5'1". Any advice on getting thru the next two weeks would be most helpful!! Thank you all!!!!

Ready Or Not, Here I Go!
kcsmicah replied to kcsmicah's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Thank you all for the encouraging words! I know that I can do this! I have never failed at anything that I have set my mind to and committed myself to. I finished school and got my degree while both the hubby and I were working full time and had two kids as well as I have been quit smoking for a month now. So I know that if i commit to it, I can do it. Catracks -thank you for the advice on the broths, I will certainly start keeping track of the ones I like best. How are you doing on the weight loss? When was your surgery? I haven't obtained a goal from my surgeon yet, the 135 was what I set myself. Like you, I too know my body frame and would look plain funny at 110. Good luck to all of you! I will update again soon and let you know how it's going!!
