    Sleeping Positions....

I am 2 weeks out today. Last night I fell asleep in my usual post-op way, which is on my back with a pillow on either side of me for extra protection and comfort, but woke up this morning on my belly! I am a belly sleeper and can't sleep any other way, but after surgery I wasn't gonna even go there. I could hardly stand the pain of laying on my left side with the dang pillow! This morning I was a little sore when I first woke up, but once I started moving around I've was fine. I think your body will let you know when it's ready. Hang in there!!!
  2. I don't get it...most of the post I read say that people feel great after the first few days. I'm on day 8 and still don't feel that great. Don't get me wrong...I don't feel horrible, I just don't feel wonderful. My incisions are healing up nicely but my insides still hurt. I feel like there isn't enogh room in there or something (like my torso is too short). sleeping on my left side is hard, bending over to pick something up can be hard too. I went shopping last night and we were out for about an hour and my left side started hurting so bad I had to stop and sit down(almost like the feeling you get when run after drinking too much water). It is still just very tender and sore and I worry it isn't supposed to be. I am also still having quite a bit of gas???
  3. I had surgery on 12/21 and was up about 10 lbs before it was all said and done (3 or 4 days later). I wasn't eating much of anything after my surgery and when I did eat it was a teeny tiny amount of broth or sf popsicles. I think it's mostly the swelling from surgery. They pumped me full of fluids while I was at the hospital. I think I finally got back down to my day-of-surgery weight at about day 9 or 10 post-surgery. Hang in there...just worry about healing and staying hydrated right now.
  4. Oh man...I didn't have any pain in my jaw. That sounds awful!!! I hope it gets better soon. Maybe you should add a post and ask others about it.
  5. It's funny you would post this. I had my surgery the same day as you and I felt the same way today!!!! It's strange how much things changed over the last 2 days.
  6. Thanks guys...you all made me feel so much better about things! Each day is getting a little better!
  7. I had surgery the day after you and my doctor recommended taking Milk of Magnesia if I hadn't had a BM after 3 days. I ended up taking it, but only took it the one time. Things are not back to normal in that department, but it's slowy getting better. Good luck!
