Big Daddy D

Hi Big Daddy D is back, Well it has now been 7 weeks since my surgery and I thought I would give everyone in the lapband world an update on my progress. So what has been happening so far. Well I have lost 2 stone already and have been feeling more and more like my old self everyday. I have to be honest I have relied very heavily on the support of Bridget from Europe Surgery and I know without her support and counselling I would not be anywhere near as successful. I have spoken to Bridget about 100 times since I got back and I am so glad I used her as I feel that constanly contacting the surgeon would not be good. Bridget is always available with handy tips and advice and words of encouragement, she is never to busy to hold my hand and talk me through the next stage. I have had an easy ride to be honest and am glad I have had someone in the UK guiding me very step of the way. When I booked Bridget told me to call her anytime and I have to say I have more than used this option over the last 7 weeks but to her credit she always picks up the phone and gives me fantastic advice and offers words of encouragement. Anyhow I have 5 more stones to shift and then I will be me again and able to live the life I was meant to in my new slim body. If you need any advice just call Bridget she will guide you or inbox me and I will try and help the best I can. Thank you Bridget and Europe Surgery for being my guardian angels and helping me achieve what I always thought was impossible. Big Daddy D

Hi Julie, Thanks for your emails of support over the last weeks they have been great. I had the jitters last night and thought about changing my date but spent an hour on the phone to Bridget and she talked me through the whole process again (she has the patience of a saint) and I feel really positive now and have paid my deposit, booked my trains and now my adventure is about to start. I have to agree calling Europe Surgery was the best thing I have done they have organised everything for me and literally been on call 24/7 to answer all me queries. I have now spoken to lots of Bridgets past patients and they have all made me feel very relaxed and have helped me confirm that I am making the right decision. Having some one in the UK to help me do all this has just made my life easier and I am now looking forward to the brand new me appearing in about 6 - 12 months. Well what a Christmas and New Year had a fab time and now back in the real world. Got really excited last night as I marked my surgery date on the calendar (9th March) and then counted the weeks to surgery. Went for a long walk with the dog yesterday as now started my program of fitness to help with my recovery. Spoke to Bridget yesterday about my deposit and about to do the transfer today so wish me luck as my computer always likes to make my life complicated. Train tickets booking took me forever as I am sure I am cursed when it comes to IT but I had support and Bridget talked me through the whole thing once I had crashed and burned on my own. Well Happy New Year to everyone and I hope 2012 makes all your dreams come true. Oh did I say I AM SO EXCITED ABOUT LETTING OUT THE SLIM ME!

Well now got the bug so here goes the 2nd post of the day. I have now had confirmation from Europe Surgery (can stop calling her that lady now as her name is Bridget) and my surgery is all booked. I have to pay a 250 euro deposit which did surprise me a bit as some firms are charging 500 euros but not going to argue with that. The price includes 3 nights stay one night in the clinc and 2 in hotels all arranged by Europe Surgery. I am travelling on Eurostar as never done it before so a little over excited (big boys and trains). Off to book my Euro Star tickets now and will update you all later on how I got on. Not the most computer savvie man in the world but you never know until you try.

Wow just joined and been reading your comments all morning and it has finally given me the guts to go ahead and book. So picked up the phone an hour ago and rang Europe Surgery as they seemed to be the way forward with most users on here. Spoke to a lady who went through the whole process from start to finished. Felt a bit sorry for her really as I did ask about 9 million questions and no matter what I asked she answered everything and explained in great detail. I found it great to have an English person on the other end of the line explaining everything to me and also the lady said I could contact her between 8am and 10pm which I thought was excellent. Well after going through everything I have booked in for February and am now so looking forward to changing my life. I have always been big and although I have no health problems at the moment my GP has advised me this will change in years to come. So here's to the new way and would just like to say a big thank you for all your posts as it has made a very stubborn man sort his life out for the better.
