Egd Tomorrow. Kinda Nervous. Any Reassurance Out There?
BeGuiled replied to Raven21's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi, Well, I'd liken to a different procedure and some people are put under for that one and some are not. One thing is it may NOT involve as much as it seems it does just to be done. They are going to scope the area and it should not be as intrusive as some one can think it to be, that is what I think. Other is more than likely if nothing is wrong now that you know, there will be ever less chance anything is to be new then. I wouldn't be scarred myself I think. Good luck -

Hi miss Snookimz, I hope the eval went well as well as the rest, I found mine simpler than I'd thought it would be and then that the Psychiatrists based most a guidline they already have rather than so deeply into or brief discussion, also it came with a little instructive stuff more than when I talked at all. My NUT wanted most to see that I new what I was doing and had the answers while also adding instruction deeper into my needs. They have limited me by giving only a diet first stage but said when in the past they hand out paperwork and instruction for whole diets I guess maybe people freak out and stress or reach for things early in the process they need not jump into. I got a large batch of menu time/date schedule blanks for future use though. Next for me is a few physical pre-op exams scheduled Nov. 28 and surgery is Dec. 11th, 2012.

Ninja Blender Vs Magic Bullet ?which Is Easiet To Clean Up?
BeGuiled replied to becksnky's topic in Food and Nutrition
I love my Bullet, its an easy clean, I found its versatile too. Won't use a Ninja because it looks like its for larger quantities, hard maintanence and it seems a porcupine to deal with when in parts. -
SarahG0417 You've made my day this morning, thanks, in part I'd been aware yet now have added to my Amazon cart saved is, Gas X strips medicine cups (I ordered 100 on Amazon for cheap, to help with sipping....line up 4 for every hour with liquids) espresso spoons (also bought on amazon, they are like baby silverware, for helping take smaller bites) liquid tylenol dry mouth spray (Biotene) baby wipes also, I see that Jello shot cups are cheaper than the medicine cups and may add a value when measuring food or Protein stuff. And I saw a sippi cup that was in the mix items, I wonder, this seems a solution maybe that I can not drink like that ? hmmmm.

BeGuiled replied to Virgo_Chk's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hehe, the muscle you keep is back to me hun. I have similar male comparitive view and much have always prefered some extra in this at least with some one for me, this is a hard thing to see with out being there.. I think what you are thinkng also a few times each day about the huge change to be, its going to be worth it for numerous more reasons than the ones that would stop me from doing it, lots of luck. -

Incision Discomfort And Sleep
BeGuiled replied to evonnrae's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Seems after a surgery I had years back this is the norm but once your able in these first days to move about it may help that you do 3 or 4 times before a nap then one or two times naps and some of the feeling disapates. It's tuff waking the way you did and then for some days until you finally get that good rest a few times. -

BeGuiled replied to ShrinkyDinkMe22's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi, I think of the size spoon I used before maybe 4 years ago, I had always eaten from the largest spoon I could find just short of a serving one, I gave that up, but had one or another in my ktchen drawer for years and nobody did quite see it always when I used it. I was put off by the idea of baby utensils and have yet to try that one out but I'll have to do something just to be sure. I am thinking and may get some to seperate/cut the food into bite size portions before I put them in my mouth. It seems People also may just get slower because the lesser apetite and discomfort helps them to and you will get used to it. Keep thinking it and then it will become the thing to do. -
Sounds like a plan but adding also a start to doing tea and adding not only flavor to cafiene, even non-caf stuff and bit of health. i might see that I like this soon and trust the youthberry orange blossom as well, why not. Thanks
-
Nice site, order on line. http://tea.teavana.c...word=Youthberry I am bogged down and into coffee to much, think of this type thing a bit more these days.

Also want to read more on this. I know to have stock for transition diets first weeks after, I know to set up in home to be comfortable in one spot, and to get to the bathroom, Kitchen in readiness. The doc should ask you to get clean with certain soap I think day or so before surgery ? Pillow can help you roll out of bed, real comfy stuff you'd wear. Laptop or a book, you'll pay for use of a television too.

New Dad/husband. Scared Straight. Just Got My Surgery Date. Please Help With Advice
BeGuiled replied to rxkid2384's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I heard and read both, forums and group,Thing is most are told its all no for a start I guess. Those who drink coffe seems usual they waited a month post surgery only but more longer even over a year feeling right with it, also heard a few didn't wait so much. coffee alone has no calories though. They can be comforatble with one cup, some more is that they drink it 1/4 cup at a time and so on. Some have other sources to replace like green tea might be maybe. Some still just do not. Soda is a no no because it aids in what expands the stomach and makes it stretch faster and more. Most soda's have no nutritional and Vitamin content and the ones with sugar are no good to more doctors these days. Some one banded said that alcohol can not be drank in any normal quantity and will get you real drunk very fast, I am unsure that it efects stretch of stomach or what I might imagine to use for another example at all. It may be that alcohol will be absorbed to quickly to just have a couple rounds and and personaly did I do it I wouldn't ever think to just use straight liquoer unmixed again. Couple rounds seems filling to me from listening to others too. One thing on that you must know already I'd bet is that alcohol is a heavy calorie drink on its own too, beer more so than others with no say cream additives ect.. My thing is smoking, cigs that is, I may if fully quit last the longer year or what have you added to anything I do after quit for time. -
This is one heck of a post. Glad I looked but can't read it all just yet, gee's I worried on me being older than most people who are not medical directed to do it and what have you and the thought that helps to align it for me is its perfect for my age at 49 when I am beginning only to feel and see some effect from being a fatty long term, this is going to be a comfort and turning point, a real high lite I think just now but less to the side of just the medical benifits and more for the things every one gets from it all ways. I'm feeling younger for today and stopped thinking so old of myself, gees.

Do Any Of You Feel Guilt?
BeGuiled replied to ShrinkyDinkMe22's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
ahhhhhhh, look at the people who tell you about it, Dr's, nurses, office poeple, and supportative friends. So, see that of some they light up ! Because they know it works, can be life changing and is effective for you. I think about it and need the help a bit too now that you need. You made the choice, seems others for any thing that you'll bring up or comes around to discuss will always sway your opinion until your surest that its the correct thing and thought it through. As is for all things, opinions are opinions and make people say it one way, they may tell you different more possitive ways to, some may not, but that's OK. Stay happy, don't worry and be scared to let it change you to much now or later on. This too, my Brother says nothing, he did say he'd support later on, and he only said, I don't know that its a good idea but only that you want to. Vaguer than I want him to be, he likes that vagueness all the time too, I do not, lol. -
Hi again, this Post is helping me, glad I saw this. tparkerc59 I am going for that, people talked the same of Syntrax nectar, I am glad you added the flavor you'd prefered and its going to be my trial start to see wahts this like now. JenniferCS See yours to be most interesting, looked into Body by Vi at Amazon an had seen various formulas and flavors, Whats yor take on better and best tasting choice there ? Mine tastes real good, but not so much as when I leave the adding simple and less, in its normal state its great compared to the stuff that came with my Mail ordered boxed pre-packs. Thanks

Hello Jenniferhm, I think Ready-to-Drink Isopure Plus 0 Carb Protein Drink is the one I am going to use. I am pre-op, but had used Protein shakes with Nutrisystem, and started using a powder called Muscle Milk (light), you can adjust accordly your preference for amount to calculate the protein added to each drink. You use a blender, can add Water or skim and fat free milk to it. I also add many things of whcih I am not certain I would use right away and need your consideration for the extra few calories, a low amount of calories usually but adds up some more into the whole thing. I use sugar free flavoring called Devinci, I chose banana and the Muscle milk light is Banana creme. Muscle milk comes in full ready to use drink too though. The Devinci sugar free flavoring masks flavor of things I might add when I want a healthy drink. Some additives I use are, Bee Polen, Organic Raw Honey, Acai powder, goji berry powder, Turmeric, Amazing Grass powder, Maca powder and there are more. I do not put all of them at once that I purchased, just for a healthy drink to add a good boost. I buy from Amazon and a few sites for the powders that are exclusively healthy and organic content sites. If you search Amazon, com you can see a varried choice of what some one my tell you to get and of other stuff there with a fair price, also GNC,com. I know there are sites exclusive to this and others too, these will have protein powdered drinks and alike, and more too though. I have yet to know my exact plans for the newer version of my drinks but it may be very simlar and then just lesser portioned at some time when I am through first phazes. Hope you do well with your choice when you find what you'd like most to do for now and later on too. Sorry if I am an overload of info for uses elsewhere.

Sounds like I may not be able to go any where and trust a toot then. If I do not to think first what to do if it happens, I can imagine this its problematic and also that it applies for a while when on puree and soft foods alone.Yuk, I will maybe need carry supplies or wear a darn diaper like Grandpa did. I don't expect that I will go far on the liquids though but may have to see the rest to come and think more about farting in general, guess its no joke. This is a true value fact, wow. So, no real pillows made yet then ? hmmm, it would be fun to have one around.
