5 Weeks Post Op My Esophagus Is Burning Is This Normal? And Fixes?
BeGuiled replied to ahh2bm3's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
it sounds like acid reflux, does warm liquid get up your pipe some times ? They told me mine should some time go away after the surgery but I also read that you can get a temperary case post op for a while, some times short temperary some times long enough for a med to be used. They give me prilosec now pre op and I have been on many over years, its a capsule though, I am unsure what med they would offer you but it might also be if thats the case you won't be using it long term but only while you need it too, I read that too. -
Hi GENNYOSKINNY, post link on this as far as I got, http://www.verticalsleevetalk.com/topic/59685-vitamin-help/ I chose these: they don't taste so bad to me, not great but OK, can mix with other drinks too. https://wellesse.alice.com/

There is still the gym after the fact, I think you know best what gives and whats good. Go for it ! All the good stuff is the same but should be better utilized then as far as I think of it all. People may forget you did it so don't remind them starting now, lol, in hopes you'll not have to hear it all over to often. Stay happy with it. Hi Back2Me2012 -

Maybe there is something else that can help that, you might try calling your NUT. I think that you may also find that you can use pepto or . I don't know but ask the NUT what the equivelant is for wls patients. Also I have had ideas myself for improving digestion post op but still unsure about them for now and pre op.

lol, I guess I am both cheap and don't care right now enough but I have to think that I might after I am post op a while, I'll look into both items if I get there when that is, so want to be recognised.

nice to know, I shop there every now and again since a few months back. they have fairly priced a ton of organic, free range and some nicely healthier stuff, a little gourmet for some of it too. thanks
-
wow, I hoped you were saying that, I almost didn't open the post because I feared it told a story of food smells and temptations as such, but its cologne, cool beans, I'll try to see if I can find it some time and try a whiff, who knows. I like Geo, its pretty good and I like the scent fine enough and has a decent kit of after shave and what have you.

Thats real possitive stuff there about being a letter writer kariwimms, I believe this is a better alternative to the lap band or by pass and held out 6 extra months to be aproved, finaly was, earlier than I thought it might be but I have gotten ready quickly to do it on the 11th Dec, great that you got by some challenges, I have joint probs and especially knee troubles now too. Can't wait to lose the weight ! I have changed allot myself already and am aware and fear what your talking about to some degree that I with certainty will eat some things bad for me. Keep staying good with the diet, lots of luck.

hey simplyfedup, Just saw you at another older post (Woo Hoo! Got My New Date. December 11), so yea, Woo Hoo, me too. So, how many times did this cancelling go on and when was the first date they gave you ?? -
They are good when you are on the puree stage, beans have some protein, 1/2 cup refried beans has 5 or 6 g protein, 140 calories and 3 g fat. You can purchase them with no fat and no sugar with 90 calories per 1/2 cup which is Old Elpaso brand fat free refried beans for instance and has 6 g protein per 1/2 cup. They are basically already smooth and ready to add to puree mix recipes or as is. remember you'll not be eating 1/2 cup straight away though and a tablespoon or so will have flavor more so than any protein.

Hi JerseyGirl68,simplyfedup,Caroline G, mocanitanj again, I am on the Dec. 11th too, I am glad to see that your back on track, happy for you. I see my Surgeon and then get tests at near by hospital tomorrow. I hope everything will be cool and I just get the go ahead but this is one thing I worry about now just not knowing yet about my Gall Bladder. Not scared just yet, lol. I lost 17 pd.s since they gave me my date when I was not expecting the insurance to come through until next year, I have no liquid diet but was told just to lose what I can before surgery and am started doing well so far. Had a low cal Thanksgiving day. Lots of luck to you, see you guys when it comes close too. -
Nice, a bigest mile stone 5 months out, great. I have aprox. 150+ I should try and lose post op.

Tea is on ! I bought four kinds, Slim and Slender, My morning Mate, Spiced Manderin Oolong, Honeybush vanilla. I have also a sample of Maharaja Samuri Chia. Got a one use rock suger too, I never will use it though. The " Slim and Slender " diet tea needs to be drank in the long term for effect, I have 2 weeks for this that is if it lasts. it is suposed to inhibit the cells from taking on fat while being a metaboliser and apetite surpressant all from this mix. Started with this one to see whats the taste about, it smells real greeny and herby, it has a bunch ingredients giving it that scent and 2 teas mixed, Mate Green and pu-erh black tea, the scent from nettles. So, that being said, it tastes different, kind of as it smelled, like a more than just mild taste of a cristmas tree in a cup, lol. May be efective, can't really just now say. Yea, I can drink it daily once a day or something with out being disgusted, I don't expect that its a good tea to get out of bed with at all. It may just be that its purpose in whole is just for a die hard dieter. I added agave and ff milk to it. I'll write again on the others but will be slow to get to any, starting with the My Morning Mate along with a daily of this up until nearly probably my surgery next month.I'll let you know that if I think it helped me stay down in the pounds as i am suposed to diet now. gees, I feel like tea critic here.

Some times I think its just because the size of that person, I lucked out, my Doc doesn't believe in it and he just asks you do what you can for a few or so weeks before the surgery to lose what you can and said it may help, also adding not to gain to much over a few pd.s or there would be consequence for it.

I have a few instruction pdf. files I found that are post surgery liquid diets I have been using for this, they have basic know how and essentialy has to be what any doctor will end up giving you later to use. Here is a sample diet outline, go down the page and you'll see what it out lines for this; http://www.northwest...ectomy-diet.pdf I guess its also basics though, sorry if it doesn't help. also I plan to cheat with this when the time is right,Reddi Wip Whipped Cream Fat Free, as long as I don't get gas into my system I think I am good, lol.

http://www.mychiaseeds.com/Articles/LoseWeightChia.html some people doubt this but it seemed to feel that it works OK when I use a bit more at the times I tried for me.

You need to stick to that confidence you had just prior to now, even just initiate to clear your mind of bad thoughts. I can only suggest that you might try to do something to get your mind of the surgery for a while, watch a funny movie ot tv shows and get some laughs, let yourself feel better, hold hands or deep breathing, try what it is thats like meditation for you to relax or maybe go to a mirror and tell yourself its all going to be OK and some thoughts you have and correct them. Once done at the hospital maybe it should just be that soon after you'll not look back at this and it won't be so big any more in your thoughts to be afraid, should be inevidable then. Get some or any good sleep if you can too. Think possitive, get rid of negatives breath it in. I hope thats something

klperry, I don't ever use sugar, quit a long time ago with that. I am using organic agave syrup and milk, agave I bought but it costs, you can get a lesser priced agave syrup at the market. Heres a catch though, I also have been using just Equal and add lemon juice and this is how I plan to drink it post surgery with herbal teas. I have only some black tea blends I had gotten and add to a banana creme black tea the agave but I have also a couple others and one is lemon flavored and I add a touch more lemon juice and equal. I like it fine both ways, the agave is nicer but costs in calories (not like sugar would even more) equal would not have any calories. I am sorry but the sugar you use I don't have a craving to use it and am quite used to these things instead, I fear you might feel its real plain to have it with equal and lemon juice but thats what I'd bet is best for you now.

Hey again, I am following your leads on this, I went more for basic and for quantity first time around. I don't know that this is a great herbal or not, I want the youthberry orange though with out being able to say just yet, that's next time I shop on line and purchase there. I let you know when I tried all the stuff, but basically Honeybush is just another kind of tea, this one should be good as I did like my sample from Teavana fine and expect that it is, just saying that you'll know better than I having that store there and I bet they have taste samples on site, ooooh, thats sounds good little bit of a thing to do. Thanks, I'll keep watching this post for any update.

Yep, can't wait, want it done and over, no turning back and no regrets.

Hey there again Piplula , hope you see this, I am excited to say I am getting an order I made direct from the Teavana site on Monday, includes a teacup+enfuser. I have some black tea blends now, wow, it's all good, I have no need for coffee at all since more than a few days back. I got some herbal for post op in this shipment too, a few 2x 2oz. diet teas and a couple more. I figured to buy in 2oz. bags to keep it fresh and use it like that with no canisters around but what the hay, I may go much further with this post op and back into cafiene. Thanks, this was a huge jump start for me to get the tea and its great now doing it. http://www.teavana.c...ite-infuser-mug http://www.teavana.c...illa-herbal-tea

Hello again, I am in New Haven CT, Yale GI group, bariatric surgeons. I was nervous for a few days, pretty badly, going over the reality of big changes to be made and difference of things after it's done led me to some pent up fears coming out, right now though i am fine. Remnd yourself that what you wanted and thought before was bigger than just the fears, put them aside and feel the better things you think to get done. I was thinking it all at the same time and now am just working on the needs for the few weeks before and after plus the short hospital stay, this replaced the fear cloud I was in. So where are you at ? sorry it took so long to answer. if you want help or something you can give a hollar.
