Hi gang. So i was banded 10/07/11 and have had slow an steady weight loss. I also have had Fibromyalgia since 2003 (28yo) an recently have been diagnosed with Secondary Raynaud's and Lupus. I have noticed that as of lately when I am in a flare up my band is Super tight! Does anyone with autoimmune disorders experience this to? And how do you deal with it? Mis73 I know you deal with something too (not trying to call you out) do you have any tips? Right now its even tough getting down my meds. I also am going with warm liquids tea, chicken broth and such. Thanks guys!!

I have Fibromyalgia... Anyone have the Band and FM? Pros/Cons??
tym4me replied to vacationgirl1's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I have FMS Lupus and Raynauds. I have my band for 17 months. I have not seen significant improvement with these conditions of mine. However from losing weight i can walk longer i no longer have plantarfacitis clothes fit better. So i say its a win win for me. -
yah hubby is great. sleeping is all i can just about handle right now. And that is sometimes work. Lol Here's to getting through another flare

Thanks Missy. I was hoping you'd see this post. I too believe that my condition has always been the Lupus but until there was concrete evidence the Dr. just went with Fibro, too. I deffinitely appreciate the link to the anti-inflamatory food pyramid. I also had sent hubby to see if there were alternative ways to take my meds. Sorry to hear you just had a flare up. An YES they really do suck. Thanks

Sipping, drinking, gulping
tym4me replied to Aza359's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am the same as Toddy. I am in the green zone an I can not gulp. I can actually hear an feel when it passes little by little. It is not comfortable. . Think of it this way... Try pouring a full 2liter bottle of soda through a funnel. It takes its time an lets air bubbles out as its going down. I sip sip sip all day. -
Hi. I would guess that you would not be denied surgery based on your med list an diagnosis. In your phsych appt they may ask questions regarding your mental stability only in refferance to see if you are understanding enough to comprehend the whole aspect of surgery. I too take many of the same meds as you (an many more :-) ) an i had my surgery one year ago. Good luck!

My eye are ALWAYS bigger than my stomach. (Probably literally) Whether at home or a restaurant. Good thing i have a hubby an 2 teenage boys all 6feet tall an taller to eat my leftovers. -
Im so sorry to hear that. Hope you feel better soon. If you are nauseous or worried about vomitting. Ask your doc for compazine. Vomitting hurts so badly with the band.

tym4me replied to Banjo257's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
CG awesome job. Its only "down" from here. -
CG Your hubby had an awesome idea!!! Luv it. Congrats. 100 pounds gone will be your soon. @ ourney seems to have stalled out. I am eating right, but not losing. The last 2 weeks though I have had a lot of headaches and been nauseated a lot and my back has been killing me, so working out really hasn't been possible Make sure your drinking enough. Headaches an nausea can be a sign of dehydration

I use caloriecount.com an there are other apps too. But keep track of calories. I like things super easy so i also have daily sheets of different items to pick from an as long as for that day i dont deviate then i know im within my cal. range for the day without having to count
