Can't Eat Anything But Still Not Losing?
tym4me replied to esmlaura's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I am on the other side of the fence with this one. I have to keep my band on the tighter side to help me recognize when i am done eating. At first i was on a 1000-1200 cal a day intake. I wasnt losing anything However i have medical issue one being hypothyroidism so my body naturally has a slow metabolism When i cut back to 800 cals i started seeing the numbers go down Also i walk 3 miles aday an drink my Water. But for my its the amount of calories that make the difference -
Your husband showed great selfcontrol which is more manly than some men with their mouths an their "machoisms". Yes we are all beautiful an valued no matter what society says. Good luck on your journey

tym4me replied to JessRess's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I hope you feel better soon. Trapped gas has even been congused with a heart attack because of the pain. Walk it out is the best advice i can give -
Have a slip. I ate some chopped pork earlier an i guess i didnt chew as well as normal. Well after over 2hours of being stuck an sliming an the whole thing i started to projectile vomit Now i cant even keep Water down! How long should i wait to see about liquids again or even eating? Thanks all

I am so glad you are feeling better. My surgeon said experiences like this are why he always puts in an empty band the swelling from surgery is enough in itself for a person to recover from. Never mind the added restriction of a fill. Yes slow n steady wins the race

IDK of shakeology but juicing is awesome a great way to get ur vitamins in. I then add unflavored protein powder an it helps me.

Hi Angel i dont know about being a mentor. But i am from Mass. I live in Springfield by Chicopee. Ive been banded since 10/11 an have lost 25 lbs only recent got into restriction. After my 5th fill. I have stepped up my excersise 3miles a day an arm strengthening morning an night. I just recently put myself on an eating schedule since i tend to graze this helps keep me mindful of when to eat not only what to eat. Talk to you soon

Kat i do the exact same as you. Learning on the way. I either share a meal with hubby or my two sons or if there is something i REALLY want i order it an i know one of the boys will eat it (they are teenage boys afterall) lol As far as the cars my surgeons office gave it to me in a gift bag after my surgery as a congrats present

Carisa i understand ive been banded 7months an i am only down 23 lbs. But i figure thats better than no lose or even a gain. I try to walk i would like to join a gym with a pool that is supposed to help but no extra $$ right now. Hang in there

Lap-Band Caused Me To Get Turned Down For Private Insurance!
tym4me replied to Toddy's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Sorry if i sound ignorant but what health ins covered your lapband surgery in the first place. Do they have a private plan? Thats outrageous for one insurer to cover the procedure but others to deny you bacause of that same procedure. Thats just wrong -
Thank you HB i do take cybalta, flexeril, an now they want me to take gabapentin. But really im tired of taking meds. I had sleep study done which confirm CFS too but i opted to not take the med for it. I really really hope some of this will just go away with weight loss. At least today i am in a better state of mind than i was the past few days.

Beat The Band Syndrome...need Help
tym4me replied to weightandsee's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
If anyone one ever thought this would be a quick fix they are absolutely wrong. Do we all have bad habits make poor decisions sure but this is a learning processess I too CAN dri k with my meals and i have pretty good restriction but i choose not to. I have even gotten the help feom my husband aNd sons to help remind me of certain things Like last night we were at a large gathering an i SO BADLY wanted the bread with butter. But dear husband said thats not a good idea did i listen sure did i mention the bread again OFCOURCE (im a carb addict) then he said "do you want to ruin the rest of your night by that?". I got the point an left the bread alone. Sometimes we just need friendly remnders -
For my "soft" sign is a little pressure i get when eating. An i have learned the hard way to listen cuz if i dont i get over full an either get stuck or stuff just has to come up.

Dont worry hon 800 cals wont make u go into starvation mode. Im not a big believer in it anyways but my body has enough fat to convert to energy that i could LIVE in starvation mode.
