  1. Happy 42nd Birthday Lilygirl40!

  2. has anyone experienced their gall bladder going wonky after lap banding? April 4th my gall bladder went bad and i had to spend three days in the hospital fighting the infection/recovering from surgery and then another five days fighting the pnuemonia it caused. Now, my stomach only feels better when there is food in it. Like it is digesting all the time and only feels better when I eat, which defeats the whole purpose of having a lap band!!! Any thoughts/suggestions?

How Often Do You Weigh Yourself?

I admit, I am a scale junkie. Everytime I walk into my closet I weigh my self. I can't help it. I should throw the damn thing away but just can't. Waiting for first fill on the 15th then maybe after that I will be able to get rid of it.
  5. That is so fabulous!!!! I can't wait for that time. Hopefully right around December I will be announcing my own 100lbs loss. Stuck at 26 right now and waiting for my first fill. Enjoying eating for now because I know that soon I will be limited which is a great thing!!!

How Long Did "bandster Hell" Last For You??

In bandster hell since beginning of year. Cannot wait to see the "light" and get some fills behind me.
  7. I cannot wait for my first fill. I have lost 26 lbs since Dec 12th and at this point I can eat anything. I can't eat as much as I used to so I am bouncing back and forth on the scale. I feel I need a fill to help with the "grazing" if I can just stay not hungry enough then I won't think so much about food. I envy you your will power.

    Chocolate Is My Demon Lover

Between the Kids' Birthdays and valentine's day there has been a surplus of chocolate in the house. Now it is all gone, cuz I ate it!!! But, now I am going to get back on track. I haven't had a fill yet, and I am trying to do this on my own and it is hard. Hopefully I will be getting a fill next month, in the mean time there won't be anymore chocolate in the house!!!!
  9. I am a chocoholic. Damn Valentine's Day!!!! Been eating a couple of pieces a day. BAD ME!!!

    Did My Band Slip?

@Lapbandbarbie, first....LOVE THE NAME!!! hahahaha That is great!!! I believe the meat digested at some point. it was the digesting that was hard for the tummy. It got swollen and irritated. Finally woke up this morning without much pain at all so all seems to be good. These first couple of months sure are a learning process. Lesson number 1...don't get cocky about you can eat. Follow the protocol.

    Did My Band Slip?

WOW 10 hours. That's good to know. I tend to be a little paranoid about stuff. Warm fluids do help. I just wish it would heal faster!! I am so exhausted from not eating. All I want to do is sleep and I HAVE to go to work. ggggrrrr....

    Did My Band Slip?

You should call your doctor. Also, go to liquids completely for a few days. If you irritated your tummy then it is probably swollen and angry. Finally after 4 days the tightness and pain are starting to ease up. I haven't even had a fill yet. If I am doing good by next week maybe then, but you should for sure go to straight liquids and wait a few days to see if that helps, but in the meantime, call your doc.

    So Frustrated...

I still have to cook for my stepkids or they would be eating out all the time. It is hard and it seems like it will never get easier, but I have learned that the people on this forum are the best people to come to for advice. they are just like everyone else, struggling to create a better lifestyle for themselves. When your family eats in front of you, leave the room. Until you can eat with them, it is just going to make you cry. And you may not be able to eat what they do for a long time.

    Did My Band Slip?

Talked to my doc. She says to go liquid for a few days. More than likely it's not a slip. Probably that steak has irritated my tummy. So, will do liquids for a while and see what happens. She said it takes alot for the band to slip so I should be okay as I haven't been vomiting. Jiust have to be nice to the tummy for a bit. Lortab every 6 hours is helping with pain so I should be good. No more steak for me!!!
