First let me give you a little backround about me. I was banded 03/01/12, after surgery I was unable to get any fills due to having to get my gallbladder removed months later, after the gallbladder was removed I had around 4-5 fills total 4cc due to my stomach is super sensitive and only able to get around .5cc at a time. On christmas I also had to get an emergency appendectomy but did not have to remove the liquid from my band. Today I went and received a fill only .2 CC he tried .5 and it seemed to be to much for me. It took him a very long time to find my port this time, at least 15 min. Normally I can tell I received a fill but today it seems like im more hungry, and its not bothering me at all. If he missed the port putting the Fluid back in would I be able to tell besides that im hungry? Im sure its in there and im just being mental about it. Just wanted some feedback from you guys. He measures it everytime, and it was where it was suppose to be, but after he does that he leaves the needle in and has me sit up, so just wondering if it could have slipped out? Idk im sure its all mental in my head, and in time im sure ill overcome, just wondering if it was possible

Mine is also left side , under my ribs

These were my symptoms also and it was my gallbladder , I had chest pain and a lot of it, morphine barely punched it! Feel better!

That sounds yummy! I normally just eat the little circle ones and the wedges are fantastic with tuna! Or the sour cream one is good for veggi spread!

It has been a long time since I've posted here. Everyone seems to be doing so well! 2 of my fellow bandsters are now expecting!!congrats to them! As for me I was banded 02/28/12 I started out 282 and at the time of surgery I was 260. After my surgery I couldn't get a fill due to my gallbladder, I had surgery to remove that may 1st. I've lost 60 lbs all together which I know is great and I can tell a difference but I have my ups and downs. I have 4cc in a 10cc band I can only get 1/2 a cc at at time or my stomach swells and can't get anything down. Christmas this year I had to have my appendix out, I know the surgery didn't cause these things but still I have to wonder sometimes. I'm hoping the new year will bring good health and more weightloss. I have been the same weight 222-223 for around 2 months now. It's almost been 1 yr and its amazing the difference it has made from a size 22-24 to 16-18 I'm hoping my weight just went slower due to all the issues. I'll drop 10-15 lbs after a fill then stall for a while, overall I'm happy with the results. I wish everyone a happy and healthy new year!!

so tomorrow i was suppose to get my first fill, i was so excited. I went to the ER a little over a week ago and apparently was having a gallbladder attack. So now they need to take my gallbladder out, but cant get me in until may 1st, so i cant have a fill until after surgery:( anyone else have to go through this?

I was banded 2/29 and yesterday I had to go to the er my chest and back hurt sooo bad....apparently I have a gallstone and my gallbladder has to be removed. Anyone have this done? How does it compare to the band sugery?

So today I crossed over to the other side and I am banded!!! I had to be here by 830 the surgeon fit me in today so I was his only surgery! Yay! It took a little under 2 hours and idk y, I know I had a hernia fix too. I do not have any gas pains right now *crosses fingers I dont get them* but I did have incision pain but it seems to be good now.my dr made me stay overnight because my oxygen lvl went down I low. Bored and ready to go home. My kitten also had hernia fix today as well. Just ice chips today...ugh lol myopathy and throat are soooooo dry. I have the massagers on my legs for no blood clots and the big ace bandage thing around my tummy which makes it feel better! All in all not a bad day I'd def do it all over again!

Well I'm home now, kitty and I are doing good! I have soreness around my incisions but other then that it's not to bad. Went to arundal mills mall today and we walked for a long while, got a new purse and a couple pandora beads!!! I can only eat a little I'm excited for my new life changes. Hope all the feb bandsters are doing well! And welcome all the march bandsters!!

The kitty is a boy Siamese cat, he is at his kitty hospital and I'm at the people hospital still....lmao I typed that as if I was explaining it to my 4 yo again sorry guess it's a habit now. It 5 am here now. My preop diet was for 4 weeks and I did really good on it besides 3-4 times were major cheats:( it was hard. I really can't see a difference I'm hoping I will soon though! My kitty had to stay for 2 days do I'm hoping when they release me today I can swing by and get him from the animal hospital. His name I jinx. Right now I'm waiting ony dr to come so he can say I can go!

They said kitty came through okay to, hopefully when they send me home we can stop and get him so we can lay around together all day! It's 3am and 77 degrees in this room, they had to call maintanence ugh.....I didn't lose any weight during my 6 month pre op but while waiting for my date I stuck to my preop diet and lost 20 lbs!!!! I started at 282 and now am at 262! Any questions feel free to ask and I can tell you anything about my experience. Woohoo!

How is the preop going??? Only 1 more day!!!! I have to do clear liquids tomorrow. So excited and sooo nervous so far I'm down 18 lbs hoping to get another 2 lbs preop!!!

The same thing happened to me, but I didn't have to wait as long a you besides I had a 6 month diet, but I kept calling the insurance 2 sometimes 3x a day, and the surgeons office every other day. I explained to the nurse how important and life changing this is to me and apologized for calling so much but that if something was that important to her I'm sure she would do the same thing. It only took 1 day after submitting it to the insurance and schedules for feb 29th

Same here they would not schedule me until I was approved. The dr said that way they don't have holes in there OR schedule because something could be denied

Im on a preop diet, I have been on the diet since the 2nd but will not have surgery till the 29th doing well on my preop diet lost around 8lbs so far, but I have anxiety over getting into surgery and my liver being to big and waking up and not having my lb. anyone else have this fear? Or have advise?

Thanks guys I guess I Linda needed the pep talk, I just know someone that went in for surgery from the same dr and came out without a band, and she is at least 60lbs smaller then me

Im 5 days into my preop diet and having surgery on the 29th, I'm an emotional mess, isn't about surgery just overly sensitive about everything. Anyone else had this happen to them?

I love the chocolate gnc whey powder myself, I mix it now with my one cup of milk I'm allowed and some water, day #4 oft preop , 24 more to go......

I feel your pain, I started my preop diet yesterday my surgery date is the 29th, I'm drinking my shake now and I have some chicken broth for later but I'm also allowed 3oz of protien for dinner yay chicken lol
