    Zumba And Lapband

I just started Zumba this past week. I will let you know how it goes. Between journaling my food intake and Zumba, I'm hoping to see a drop in lbs.

    "we Don't Do Hand Holding"

My surgeon is married to my "weigh-in" doctor so when I meet with one doctor and they type in my comments to the computer, the other doctor can see it. I went over my food journal on one visit and totally did some calorie cheating. When my surgeon saw me on the next visit, to my surprise, he said something about it. Shocked, I looked at him and said "how did you find out about that?" He said, "because my wife and I care about you and you're not getting away with anything". So my response was "you mean you're not just working for me because I pay you to? You really CARE?" We both had a great laugh...and then he filled my band. LOL!
  3. I woke up this morning with a renewed source of strength! Looking in the mirror, I see in my eyes the spark of change. It's about making a plan that works for me in my day, not a plan that's unrealisitc. I can do this. I can walk the treadmill for 30 min. a day. I can avoid all of the disgusting holiday food. No one else is in control of me but ME!

Hello You, Great To See You Again!

Ok so...I "pimped out" my treadmill. I took a stretchy band with handles and wrapped it through the handles of my treadmill. Now when I walk I hold onto the handles of the band and now I have a resistance workout for my upper body while I walk. I have to laugh cuz it really is kind of cool! Try it!!! A therapy band works too.

Vomiting With My Lap Band ??

I was told by my surgeon that if you get the flu while have the LapBand you need to take an anti-vomit med. You don't necessarily need to have fluid removed.
  6. I had a check up and weigh-in this afternoon and in one month I managed to not lose any weight. Of course, I haven't been journaling or exercising. So...my doctor challenged me to walk 20 min. on the treadmill before I allow myself to turn on my new laptop. It worked! I turned on an episode on Seinfeld and hopped on the treadmill and before I knew it...my 20 min. was up!!!

  7. I am 16 months post surgery and I've lost all motivation. I'm tired of thinking about food. Everytime I visit my doctor we discuss ways to get back on track but the minute I get home I can't get it together. Help! I'm only down 29 lbs. and I'm nowhere near where I'd ever thought I would be.
