My understanding is that there will be fluid in your lap band but not a "fill"..There are some swelling and the gasses that remain after surgery, you need time to heal!! Your appetite is small with the healing so your lap band is already effective!! I had my surgery Dec 21 and my first fill was Jan11th...

Welcome here Jen!! Plication is very new and is till in study...They stitch the stomach below the lap band to also not make the bigger stomach smaller but too have a less chance on band slippage!! I guess kind of a back up to get the fullness you desire! Where do you live Jen? You might can call Ft. Worth Lap Band and they will explain it all to you! (817-850-1100) I'm sure they will take the time to explain it to you and maybe then you can consult with your surgeon!! Let me know if you have anymore questions!!

On hooo Sissy!!! I eat bread with little or no problems!! I have read of people drinking Dr. Pepper after with no problems!! I myself laid off of the soda a while back (sweet tea) ...I quit the sweet tea just before my band!! Might research and talk more to Dr. Adam's about your 2nd thoughts a see if there is anything he can say to ease your mind!! I think it's a choice to be made and only you can make it!! I will tell you I feel so much better in more ways than one!! I'm more active and like the clothes better but I also feel I have added some time to my life..Happiness is the key!! Let me know what you decide....I go in today and get a deflate I feel a little tight and I have a little congestion I think thats the reason! I had a fill last Thursday and thought it would loosen up but not yet!! It does not hurt just a little uncomfortable!! I hope everyone has a great day!!

As of today I have lost 52 lbs!! Yayy!!

i haven't had any carbination but I saw on some site that people do after about 6 mo. after surgery!! I'm think I'm just going to stay away from that!! I had a fill last wed and it still feels a little tight I think I may need to have a little fluid taken out and then I will prob be in the green zone!! Hope everyone is having a great day!!

That's great a few of us have the same Dr,.!! Every now and then I have problems with bread. The smaller the bite the better!! SIssy, I had my psych appt and she just asked a few questions then she will give you a web site that will instruct you on your evaluation!!There were alot of questions!! You will be able to loose the weight from weight watchers on the 2 weeks pre-op diet!! It took me 2 days for approval after she checked my psych questionaire! I am 50 and my skins seems to be doing fine!! But i'm just getting started!! I'd rather have a little loose skin than be overweight! Hey Tahnee I finally can put a face with your name!!

I've lost 47! It has been easy, I just have to stay away from the junk foods, I still do not eat perfect haha. Having my 3rd fill the 28th!! Dry foods are sometimes hard for me! Like dry chicken but I take a little sip of water if I need too!! I'm so excited for you!!

The dr's office thought I was flying for vacation!! If you fly you do have to have fluid removed!! Your stomach expands in the air~~ Since I was going on cruise I had a fill before we left!!

It's ok to be nervous!! I was too only to find out there was no need..lol The only thing I can think of to be aware is the gas pains after surgery!! This will go away!! My 3rd day after I burped like crazy and all was better!! I had a big burst of energy about 3 weeks after and joined a gym!! The gym seems to be the hardest part for me!! Blah!! But i'm still going!!

Well by the liquids I do mean the shakes, sugar free pudding, low fat cottage cheese, and the soups!! I lost like 20 off doing this! Well I figure the 2 weeks before surgery I did it and lived so I figure i will try to get that extra push!! lol I will try anyway!! Fixing to go on a cruise and so I will start tmrw (we leave Saturday)and then when I get back!!

Sassy, I'm so happy for you. I hope the time passes fast for you until your surgery!! I will be praying for you and your recovery... The doc must have his reasons for this decision, however I was not over 300 lbs, But I think my doc really believes that the plication is effective! Don't be disappointed!! You will do just fine with just the lap band!! The 2 week pre-op was a big weight dropper!! In fact I will be doing the liquid diet every other week!! Do make sure you get plenty of protein after!! If I go a few days my hair begins to fall out, so I am consistent with my protein!!

Fixing to go on a cruise and have to get some fluid taken out of band, so remember if you go on a trip you have to have fluid removed!!

Glad you got some relief. We can all here relate!!

You might call your Dr. and ask I didn't think I had any and there was they removed 2CC and then they did put that back plus some!!

I'm sorry I misread!! It is probably the gas I had gas pains (from the gas they use) until about the 4th day!! At one point making me sick, that night my grandkids said they heard me burping (in my sleep) from the other room. The next day I woke up and felt brand new!! I did have to go in and have a little Fluid removed so that the gas could escape! That seemed to be the trick!!

Sounds like you are taking too big of bites or not chewing good!! I take my first bite and since my stomach is not used to it I also take a tiny sip of Water and it will wet it a little more and it will go down better!! You will loved the banded Plication!!

Shap. have you asked your dr.? I feel full longer because the stomach below the band is not as big as it used to be!! There is no more pain added doing this and is still part of a study to see how this benefits us and so far the outcome is more weight loss!! Let me know when you make your decision!! I hope you really consider this for your journey!! Oh and you will feel like your still eating!! I just ate about 1/4 chicken breast, 3 table spoons of pea salad and 3 tbls. broccoli casserole...and I'm stuffed and very satisfied!! Teri

Thanks, Kels, that's about what I eat and I though I was over eating!! They say 1/2 cup of food should do it!! I guess I'm doing good!! Go for the plication Shap!! it's great!!

Congrats Melinda!!! I've lost 37 lbs. I feel it should go faster but I do remind myself that it has not been that long ago..Impatient I guess.lol.. But I feel great. I had my first fill last week and do not feel as hungry but I feel a little hungry more often. Did you feel this way? I have been walking every day and I also have a spinal stimulator and I can now feel it in the back of my hip and have developed a rash in that area (maybe just an allergy) to something I will watch it for a few day and if it does not get better I will go to Dr, I hope that pains you have go away, I'm lucky that about the 4th day all mine went away!! Thank you friends for supporting me with Mr. Lap Band!! I really like it here and know you all are here for me as I'm here for you!!

We here on this topic are not interested in other weight loss surgeries, that is why the title is for Iband!! I hope my friends will stay on our discussion and not go to a site that does not work!! I feel wee support one another in here not only on the board but in messaging!! Mr. Lap Band if we were wanting on your web site we would already be there!!

I chose the Implication because it is supposed to be more effective and less hunger and feel fuller longer!! I love it so far!!I'm so glad I made this decision!
