Do you guys eat 3 meals a day no snacks, only liquids between meals.... Or Do you eat your three meals a day an allow for snacks IF you are hungry
-
Thank you Meg, I figure I will. I guess for the most part I wanted to see if there are those out there making it on just 3 meals. With that being said my surgeon wants me to do 3 meals no Snacks, but then my NUT tells me she doesn't want me starving and if i determine i am truly happy she would prefer i have a healthy snack. My sleeve is so small right now I don't see anyway to get all my Protein in on just 3 meals.

One Week Out! Hopefully I'm Not Being Paranoid :/
Tlmiller2971 replied to Mel34's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Ok so I'm back from my doc and I was down 22lbs which means I was worrying for nothing. I talked to him about feeling so hungry and being able to drink a lot. He said the drinking thing is good to keep us from getting dehydrated. As far as the hungry thing it's because liquids don't stay in our tummy long. The pressure in your chest is the feeling of full, but because it is liquid we don't stay full long. -

Hi Mel, I fund your post at the right time because I am feeling the same way. I see my doc tomorrow and can let you know what I find out -
I am looking for info regarding a good facial moisturizer and if it helps tighten all the better. I know there are no magical lotions or potions to get rid of loose skin, but I would like to find something for my face to keep it hydrated. There is soooo much on the market I dont know where to start.

I think I just had my 1st, I don't regret this, moment . First of all I don't regret the surgery, but having been pretty uncomfortable since surgery I have wondered if I have done the right thing. Anyway I woke up this morning did the normal routine, realized I was REALLY thirsty so I went to the fridge and grabbed my G2. Without even thinking I took a big ol' drink, as I started to swaollowmi realized what I did and thought crap this is gonna hurt. Low and behold it didn't! I took a normal drink of cold liquid and it didn't hurt. I'm so excited! Of course that turned to fear that I broke my sleeve, but I doubt that's possible, and I'm going to choose to believe that. It felt so good to be thirsty and take a normal drink quench that thirst I guess it's the little things.

Congrats! I too am a savory person and can't wait for cottage cheese -
They never said anything to me about a HH, but seriously does the gas pain ever go away? I'm assuming that pain that hits me in my rib cage for no reason, or when i take a deep breath is gas pains. I've tried walking, gas ex, tea warm, cinnamon... Everything short of cutting me open again lol. I kno this seems ridiculous but this really hurts, and I'm a baby. Any help or just reassurance that it will go away & I haven't broke something would make me feel better. TYIA Tracy

I am taking gas ex chewables and walking as much as I can around here with the snow and the ice. I do go up and down my apt stairs. Everything seems to be moving now lol

Am I Being Ridiculous?
Tlmiller2971 replied to wondering1's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I know I'm not going to be a super model because of the way I'm built and I'm okay with that because my goal is to be healthy. I do think the lady you met is discouraged bor else she wouldn't have felt the need to share all of that. With that being said my PCP, nut, myself and surgeon all agree onederland is where I want to be and that is as far as I have gotten with my goal. If anything use her story to remind you to not let yourself get complacent and don't think of it as anymore than that... Just my opinion. Tracy -
Thanks Ela, the nausea is better and the pain is apparently gas. Holy cow I never imagined gas this bad and it just won't pass lol so I keep walking and walking
-
Thanks everyone. I am out of the hospital where they monitored my intake & output very closely. Right now I am soooooo thirsty I am taking tiny sips quite often. I am finding after making some camomile tea I am handling warml liquids better than cold. I do have the extreme gas pressure and pain. I'm going thru the omg please don't let me stretch anything fear which I know is unreal considering how much I have drank. I just want to make sure what I know what the new full feels like lol

I am now officially on the losers bench and sleeved. I must be a wimp because I hurt like hell and I'm nauseated. Don't get me wrong i don't regret it at all and I am really excited for the changes to come.

How Did You Pick Your Surgeon?
Tlmiller2971 replied to Tana_Q's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I choose where I went at the recommendation of my PCP and she was right I love my doc. Even at 40 yrs old my mother tries to take control of situations and he never let her lol. I loved that, her not so much but she means well -

Is There Such A Thing As Too Much Protein?
Tlmiller2971 replied to gettingthere's topic in Food and Nutrition
My NUT told us there is such a thing as too much protein and to aim for 60 - 80. If we go over occasionally that's ok But on a regular basis increases ketones and can affect your kidneys
