    Nervous About 2Nd Fill

My doctor has me to put my hands behind my head and pull up just a little as if I am doing a crunch. Sticks the needle and the whole process takes about a minute.

    December Bandsters!! How Ya Feeling??

Hi gang, I went for my first fill earlier this week. found out I had gained 4 lbs since my post op visit on the 4th. Doctor said that this was perfectly normal and do not panic. Received a 3.5 cc fill (she told me that she put 2 in when I had my surgery). Took a sip of water, could not hold it down. She removed .5 and it made me feel much better. She told me after fills, 2 days liquid, 2 days mushies, then food. The first 2 days following my fill, the only thing I could do is sip water and hot herbal tea (could not drink any protein shakes without feel nauseous). Day 3, sipped hot tea, water an it took me all day to get in on protein shake. Just placing emphasis on getting the water in my system. Today, still sipping water and protein drinks. Gas and gurgling, otherwise, I am feeling pretty good. Because it is taking so long to drink, I am not even in the mood to try mushies. Has anyone else had this experience? Do I have to wait for my band to :"loosen up" before going to the next phase?

    December Bandsters!! How Ya Feeling??

I had my surgery on 12/22 and went for my post op exam on last week. So far so go. I have lost 22 lbs (including pre-op diet). Back at work, other than the gas I feel fine. I used to weigh myself every day, but I had to stop (the reason my other diets failed is because when I followed them to the letter if I did not see immediate feedback from the scale, I felt as if I was failing and would get into a "what's the use, this is not going to work mentality). I will be having my first fill on 1/25 a little over a month after my surgery. I am celebrating all of the small victories; like having the bottom of my pants under my shoes, because they are getting bigger. I like the fact that I had a coat that I could not button, that now I can put on with a heavy sweater underneath! I was talking to my daughter on yesterday about how I could easily drink a liter of pepsi a day (had to give us soda for pre-op and subsequent surgery). Now I do not even miss it. I love, love, love the sugar free Hawaiian punch and crystal light pure. I drink a protein shake every morning (chocolate flavored protein powder, fat free milk, 1/2 banana and ice) and I feel as if I am having a treat. Trying new things (like those green giant veggies in szechuan sauce). Overall, taking it one day at a time.
  7. Hello All, Another new kid in the class. I just got banded on Thursday. Checked in at 8:30 am Had surgery about 10 was in recovery about 12 and went home at 10pm. So far, so goo. At first my stomach was feeling so empty, but I began doing a little more sipping and now it is better. Not in any real pain, doing some walking, but a lot of sleeping yesterday,. I was scared and excited at the same time. I am glad that I am not on this journey alone.
