My cousin had the sleeve surgery about 2 years ago and used baby food when she was on soft foods. Did anyone do baby foods during the soft foods portion of the diet after surgery? If so, did they provide enough protein for an adult?

I have 60-65 lbs to lose and I'll be banded on August 23rd. This is definitely NOT the easy way out. I want a permanent solution. I lost 68 lbs two years ago but managed to put back on 40. I need something that will better assist with me not REGAINING. I'm committed to exercise I love running although I am slow but less weight hopefully faster! LOL

Banded July 5Th And I Feel Horrible!
tflemon67 replied to Change704's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thanks for the tips Maegan I'm making my list now. I'll have my band and hernia repair on August 23rd and I must say I'm scared to death! So many have complained about the pain, I'll be sure to do a lot of walking, pain meds and gas x strips! LOL -

Hold on it will get better. Walk to relieve the gas pain. Feel better soon! -
Big dissappointment today but more determined than ever that my lapband surgery is the right choice for me. I didn't make the same pace group for half marathon training that I made last year. I'm 1 minute slower than the minimum. So dissappointed I've gained 20 pounds since last season and hadn't been working out as hard as I should. I'm more determined to get the lapband surgery and continue to do what I love and that's run. Although slow now, I know in time I...

Don't worry about it, everyone doesn't have an understanding. Be thankful for the support of your husband and parents.

Thanks, I'll insist on the liquid pain meds.

What The Do's & Dont's Of A Lap Band?
tflemon67 replied to IamBeauti's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
CentrixBeauti I'm not sure if flavored water is out but it seems carbonated anything is out. Of course I'm driving myself crazy reading all the horror stories related to the band, I'm sure it's normal to be concerned. I want to make sure I'm doing the right thing. -
What The Do's & Dont's Of A Lap Band?
tflemon67 replied to IamBeauti's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
So glad you made this post I was just about to post something similar. I'm scheduled to be banded in August but I'm concerned about failure rate, I definitely want my band to be a success. How do you avoid band slippage? I'm not sure if band erosion can be avoided? -
Wow WLS surgery is for lazy people, too funny. I run 4 miles per day 4-5 days per week in the searing heat in the afternoons or I'll get up at 3:30 am and run. I weigh 195 lbs and I'm 5 foot 1. Nope not lazy at all, need a better tool to get my body to respond to all my hard work. Do what you feel is best for you. Keeping the weight off is more than difficult for a lot of people.

Speak with your physician about this. Sounds like the nurse had a built in prejudice. After my EGD the lady that wheeled me to my car so my husband could pick me up said I didn't need surgery just to pray and take it to God. Well I've prayed and with prayer and hard work I managed to go from 217 to 156 but sadly have gained 40 lbs back. I believe this opportunity to have Lap Band Surgery is a sign from God to get past this and move on to bigger and better things. Weight has consumed the last 20 years of my life and it's time to move on.

I tried the EAS soy protein powder this morning mixed with pineapple juice and ice and it was hard to get down. Extremely chalky, after surgery I'll be limited to my shakes with just water and maybe ice. I think I'll stick to the powder from True Results no chalky taste at all.

So happy all is well, wishing you a speedy recovery!

Sounds like True Results is making it happen for a lot of people. I'll have my surgery as well via the Hiatal hernia repair and only $5500 out of pocket which True Results will finance. I'm not sure why insurers don't embrace weight loss surgery instead of a lifetime of high blood pressure meds, diabetic meds and a host of other obesity related meds.

Took me a while to figure out how to get my ticker to show up, don't know exactly how I did it but it's there! Doing my happy snoopy dance!!

Woohoo Congratulations!! Good luck on your surgery!!

Is Anyone Else Scheduled For August?

I am scheduled to have my band on August 23rd, seems so far away! -
Congratulations on your new journey. Wishing you a speedy recovery!

I had my EGD done a couple of weeks ago at True Results in Houston. Very simple, I was diagnosed with a Hiatal Hernia and I'm now scheduled to have my band August 23rd. Good luck, there shouldn't be any pain or discomfort. Have a great one!

And It All Comes Crashing Down........
tflemon67 commented on Shelleymb's blog entry in Shelleymb's Blog
My insurance does not cover weight loss surgery BUT they do cover Hiatal Hernias which I do have. I'm now being banded via my hernia surgery. My out of pocket will be $5500 which True Results will finance at $235 per month. I was turned down by Care Credit. You may want to try that option. Good luck to you. -
This good to know, I'll be banded in August and I thought you didn't get hungry directly after surgery. Trying to mentally prepare.
