I'm 1/2Way To Goal. Where Are You?
windycitymom replied to carbgrl's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I'm about 50% of the way there and I still can't believe it. I am really frightened that I will gain it all back. I am trying to excercise but havne't found a routine yet so my loss is mostly based upon decreased calories. What are you going to lose the weight? -
I am in my third month post op and have had my period for almost 3 weeks. I didn't have an irregular cycle prior to surgery. Anyone every have this happen? What does it mean? what should I do?

What kind of multi do you use? Is there really a big difference between a regular and baritric multi? What's your opinion? and why?

just do the best you can. You can put in .1 or .05 servings. You'll have to wing it weight it. IF you can weight the food before you eat it that is best. Don't worry about the amount of weight you have to lose, soon enough you'll be able to eat half portions and enough to keep better track after you get offl liquids/mushees. -

Congrats on both of your massive accomplishments! Nice to see a woman in the HVAC industry. I was in it for 10 yrs then left to sell real estate. Best of luck to you in both of our new ventures. The business and wonderland ! -
I'm having a hard time "holding it all together" today. Has anyone every had this? I am also wanting to graze magnificently throughout the day but can't. Last night, I bought a pint of Ben and Jerrys and had about 20% of it and then had a terrible stomach ache... I guess I learned my lesson. however I don't know what to do with all this angered that is rearing it's ugly head. HELP!

Great idea but I am swamped with work and kids and taking care of my disabled mother. I am already so busy that I think that is some of the problem...

Wise And Successful Sleevers Please Give Me Your Input
windycitymom posted a topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I am currently 6.5 wks post op and trying to find my way in terms of what will be successful for me. I believe that my weight issue has been a result of food abuse. In the past, I learned that deprivation will not work. I learned that receipes will not work since I have very little time working and with two small kids. I am happy to have a meal with my family much less cook three different meals - also I don't cook much to begin with.... My question is has anyone had long term succes or reached their goal by merely decreasing or restricting the volume of food they eat in addition to a commited excercise plan? -

You all are so inspiring, thank you. I guess I am mourning my old 'friend' which is food abuse and I fear that I wont learn new habits during my honeymoon phase. -

Hi I am just wondering if it is possible to escape this part of the process or if I am destined to have it happen to me. If you've missed this fun portion, can you let me know what you think made the different for you? I tried taking zinc the other day and spent the day on the lu I have been getting in 65-80g protein/day and hoping to keep that up. I am only 5 wks post op.

To Tell Or Not To Tell?
windycitymom replied to gettinthinner's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I think this is a very personal topic. My husband knows and my best friend knows. That is it. I know myself well enough to know that I wouldn't like to discuss the details. Because one I tell someone there will be a flood of questions For me, I was uncomfortable being asked questions and talking about it so I figured better to not share that. I contemplated telling everyone since I am a terrible liar however I agree with Vance since I am taking in a ton less calories and trying to stay away from carbs and sugar and successfully keeping my protein up. You should really look inside to find your own answer. You know the answers, listen to your self. Besides remember that we are always here if you need to chat about anything should you decide to keep it to yourself Best of luck and keep us posted what you decide. -

Too funny I just bought 2 ramekins at Target and they had a plastic cover so that I can make something in them and only eat half and put the rest in the fridge for later. I love my new ramekins, thanks for reminding me how great they are!! Great idea!! -
