I go for my first of 3 mos of physician supervised nutrition appointments on Thurs. 1/26. I totally agree that they are scheduled to weed out those who are not going through with the surgery. After reading every post for the past 3 mos. I want to say I am so thankful for this site. Thank you so much to all of you who have shared your experiences and wisdom. I have been trying to get this surgery for 2 years and am so excited that I may actually have the surgery in April. Have moved 3 hours away and have a different job with different insurance (hubby transfer) and am so excited that my insurance will (may?) actually pay for this. I will have to pay approx. $2000, but again, after 2 years I am determined. If I had to pay privately, I would defintely ask what is included with each fee, then make your decision. You are the customer and have the right to know what you are getting for your money! Best of luck and again thanks to all who contribute and share their experiences.

I have only told my best friend, not even my husband. She and I have shared ups and downs for over 30 years and she is so excited for me. I think she will do it if I'm successful. I just don't think it's anyone else's business! I will tell my hubby when it is actually scheduled and he will support me. But this is something I'm doing for my health and I just want to have it be 'mine'.

Just remember, YOU are paying her salary. She is working for you, so you have the right to say,' that's really inappropriate. I am here for advice and support, not for you to be rude to me'. You don't have to be mean when you say it, just matter-of-fact. She has problebly gotten away with this for too, long. I would ask for a different dietician. You can do it!! What's the worst thing that can happen? I would say something to the doctor, too. Again, this is a customer service issue. You are the customer and remember, she works for you. Just think, if it weren't for you, she wouldn't have a job:) Good luck!

Ms. Peanut, I am so very sorry. I hope you have talked with someone about your loss, possibly family or a close friend if not a counselor. I admire your newfound resolve and hope you will keep us updated on your weight loss progress! My consultation with the surgeon is this Friday. I have thought and prayed about lap band for a long time and with my new job and insurance, I am excited to take this step. Am praying for you!

I am so Happy for YOU! I go the 6th to talk with the surgeon and have 50 to 60 lbs to lose. But I have high BP, high cholesterol and have just been diagnosed with diabetes. I am VERY hopeful that I can have this surgery. I will look for you on this forum. Best of luck as I am rooting for you!!!!

My consultation is January 6. I've been thinking about this for a year. My previous insurance would not cover it, but after a move and a new job, my current insurance will. I'm so excited and so proud of all of you who have gone through the process. I am almost afraid to think it might actually happen. Whoo Hoo! Best of luck to you in 2012.
