  1. I saw Kuhn once and that's all it took for me to cross him off my list. Disliked him intensely but did love his PA, George, and others. Among the many dislikes I had is his office is supposed to be a Center of Excellence, and I couldn't get my wheelchair through the door. Kuhn got hot under he collar when I complained & he snapped back at me. Re: Fills. Most good doctors do the 1st fill a month post-op and will decide, with your input, when you need another. It's not up to you to decide to fill or unfill. Dr. Provost told me that there wouldn't be any problems because he would know about it .... long before the problem reared its ugly head. He's a great surgeon and does a lot of complex revisions and help for people with problems. Few can come close to his expertise. If you live North of Dallas and can handle the drive, Dr. Provost is the clear choice! I give him 5 stars. Others get 4 stars, and the rest 3 or lower. Dr. Benavides is a 4, but from what I read he outsources all post-surgery. Not good enof for me. Dr. Cribben and his partner, Dr. Hamm are both 4's as well, but I heard follow-up was lacking.

    Frustrated With Slow Weight Loss

If you're still hungry, there are 2 reasons: 1) You need a fill 2) Band was not inserted properly. Have it checked with a fluoroscope.

    "we Don't Do Hand Holding"

If that's a potential weight loss surgeons office, they just did you a big favor. I'd get the heck out of there and never return. I've already been to 3 dr's offices and still searching for the right one. This is too big a decision to handle lightly. Treat me even a little bad, and it's adiós.I'm a big girl and tough enough, but as a patient I deserve to be handled with kid gloves. We all do.

    Just Banded 12/27!!!

I've been researching WLS for 10 years, and the is the first time I heard of a 3-week liquid diet. Certainly, you'll lose weight, but my suggestion is stop if it gets to be too much and move on to the puree stage. Doctors are not God, and personally, I usually make up my own mind, after carefully considering what they recommend. I've run across posts from patients who did the liquid diet for only 1 week. Congrats & best of luck.
  5. Thank you for replying and making such an effort to help me. Interestingly, I posted this in a new Texas group, and no one replied. I did get a couple of replies in the Lap Band Surgeons and Hospitals. Two doctors were highly recommended; one works for True Results. I dislike franchise health facilities, so I had avoided this one initially. But I am sooo tired of looking, I'm going to check these two docs out, and hopefully, pick one of them. Dr. Louis Fox and Dr. Marsden. I did originally choose a great surgeon, reportedly the best in the Southwest. His office is 35 miles away, and I dislike his support staff. So that's why I'm looking to change. Congrats on your weight loss. That terrific! I can only imagine how much better my life would be if I dropped that much weight. Hugs, Kate
