I have been on this site 7 months "prior" to be banded. Actually, I started on the 'chat' forum before and had met some really nice people who were tremendously helpful in answering all of my "pre" banding questions. As soon as I started doing more research, asking questions is where I found one of my best friends on this site. She has been my rock through this whole journey. My husband and I wouldn't know what to do without her (Missy). I come here pretty much for the same reason you all do. Support, Motivation, and Inspiration. I love reading about all the success stories, and of course looking at the before /after pictures are GREAT! Every story gives us all inspiration and hope! I am still early on my journey, but I have learned and gained sooo much knowledge from my fellow bandsters! -

Overwhelming feeling of fear of failure
PattyGirl66 replied to ireallywannabthin's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi Jennifer, I think many of us 'subconsciously' think that, or in my case I fear I will never reach my goal because of how long I have been overweight. I do know this time around its different because i have a tool now, that as long as I do my part, I will continue to achieve my dream of losing this weight and keeping it off, and so will you.... -
Ate too much... Oops....
PattyGirl66 replied to CatLady0626's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You said it best hon... Believe me, we all have a lot to learn from our bands Hope you feel better (hugs) -
My granddaughter (she is almost 7) she wanted to name my band, so she did "Bandilla" She doesn't like her very much she says, LOL I really liked what Floridays said about how your Mom carried you for 9 months, and you will carry her always. That was really deep and touching. I am very lucky to have my Mom around, we are very close and only 16 years apart. She is super supportive and couldn't be happier for me having this surgery. She tells me all the time how brave I am to have had it done. I know your Mom would feel the same way....

Weight Loss Challenge at Work - Unfair Advantage??
PattyGirl66 replied to Redesigned_Curves's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I personally agree with the majority here and say go for it! It will be a diet, your band will be empty, and you will be basically doing what everyone else will be doing, is watching what they eat! Best of luck and I hope you win! -

PattyGirl66 replied to Lapbandster's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
That is a tough one! Maybe put yourself in her shoes. If it were you would you want to know? Be kind and sound concerned, like hey there could be something medically wrong going on here. .. If you and her are very close friends, you can have a conversation like this with her. Best of luck, -
What did your doc suggest as a goal weight?
PattyGirl66 replied to Rebecca Cain Salpacka's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi Rebecca, My surgeon like yours asked what goal would I like to set my weight at, I said 190. According to the BMI chart that would still put me in a higher body mass index bracket, ..I am shooting for 'Healthy". He has no problems with this at all, and once I get to my goal we will discuss going lower, but as of right now my goal is 190. Yes, I am certain he would like me to go lower and in due time the subject will come up. -

Really Cheryl?? Not only did you tell her 'what to do" you also called her OBESE, YES YOU said it! Wow, nothing you say ever surprises me on this forum. YOU are really a class act...... I think you need to apologize to Rebecca and maybe next time, THINK before you write! Isn't that what writers do???? -
