Some great ideas above! You can go to youtube.com and type searches for "chair exercise" .. they have some pretty good ones on there to follow. I live in NJ and we are stuck with very cold winter now, however I did invest in a machine for indoors (gazelle edge), it was cheap and fits the level of activity I can do. I also spent a couple extra more on 2 lb dumbells and a stretch band, I use those for upper body exercise. One of our schools in town offer the use of their swimming pool for $4 to the community, so I take advantage of that as well.

Sending good Karma your way........ Keep us updated on your progress (hugs) -
I totally agree with you there! Being overweight does not mean you have to dress sloppy! My family and friends always tell me I have a flair for fashion and always dress very nice! However with saying that, I do miss the 3 inch heels

Jenn, You've lost an amazing 102 pounds! That is alone a HUGE accomplishment, one you should be super proud of! This journey has not be easy on any of us, we still have to struggle and find our own way and paths to success. Yes, life gives us obstacles and hurdles, but in order to boucne back up, we must jump over/around them. You are going to get over this hurdle! We are all here rooting for ya!! (hugs) -
This is how normal people do it...
PattyGirl66 commented on Terry Poperszky's blog entry in Terry Poperszky's Blog
I get it now, eating 'normal'. My habits have changed tremendously since being banded. I know I still struggle and do find myself fighting with the hunger demons. I hope one day that changes so that I don't have to continue the constant battle daily... Well put Terry -

I don't have any tats at all! I am contemplating an ankle tatoo with my daughter and granddaugters name inscribed for my 50th birthday this year. My husband does not have any tatoos either. I guess we are both straight edged, LOL

Long term concerns
PattyGirl66 replied to Want2behealthy's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
From reading past and presents posts here from our veteran bandsters, doing some research on the internet, and speaking with my surgeon, it’s all inconclusive what the longevity of the band is. However, like any hardware/device that is foreign in our bodies maintenance is key. I have a total hip replaced and every year I get that hip looked at/tested/x-rayed by my orthopedic surgeon. Just as the band, I will also have it looked at/tested/x-rayed to make sure everything is fine and still functioning. -
Hi Blondie, Weight gain/stall is very normal during these stages. Just know that this is 'temporary'. Your new stomache is healing, and so is the rest of your body. Stay on track, follow your surgeons instructions and before you know it, you will be shedding off those pounds. Hang in there (hugs)

Hello Lyndz, I first want to say to you personally that there is NO such thing as failure. Failure in my book is when you give up! You are here and back and the one thing you never want to do is give up on yourself. I had this conversation with my surgeon weeks ago.... I asked him about how many patients that he knows off the top of his head that needed no fills and got to their goals. He said two. However those two over time put back on half of their weight. I looked at him and said really, do you know why? He seriously looked me dead in the face, and said ' things happen' life sometimes takes a wrong turn in peoples lives", "the main thing is they are back on track and losing again". My surgeon is the best! He gets it, he really understands us! I don't have a hypocrite for a surgeon, I have a REAL human being for one!
