    Quacker Factory

no, but I have a quacker factory straw beach bag I don't use.....LOL
  3. I still have a problem with this, I am suppose to wait a whole hour after eatting. However, I can only make it to 30 minutes, sometimes I sip liberally or I might drink a good amount of water right after. I never drink while eating, always after. I feel guilty I can't hold out, but I never had any issues with this. Maybe its because my band is empty., I do always feel full for a long while, and don't experience hunger while doing this, as of yet anyway...

    Yippee!!!!!!!!

    yaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!
  5. I have a realize band put in, and just as Mis73 has indicated this has nothing to do with what type of band you have, in fact it is the personal choice of your surgeon of what food plan to put you on. BTW, I was on liquids for 2 weeks, soft foods on week 3/4 and solids on my 5th week. There are two types of bands.. Allergan and Realize - You can google the difference between both for more info

    Before & After Visual ?

Hi Domika, I developed horrible acid reflux 2 days after surgery. I never had it before, so they put me on nexium and that didn't work either. The surgeon was thinking my band may be tight from air trapped inside the band. There was just a little air trapped and she got it out. Same way you would get a fill, she inserted the needle into my port and drew out air. It didin't hurt at all, infact she numbed my belly first with some numbing gel. I was happy when she located my port in seconds. I still suffer from acid reflux, however I noticed it is subsiding (crossing fingers) it goes away! omg how horrible to have this soon after surgery, I barely could eat and everything possible triggers the acid, such as Protein powders, sugar substitute, dairy. Talk about being limited. My band is empty and I will not have a fill until the acid reflux is completely under control. I am thinking a fill may just make it worse! Best of luck to you -Patty

    Pasta As A Soft Food?

It was actually one of the foods listed on my food plan given to me. Big Pasta, not thin ones. I did try pasta not to long ago and as long as I chewed till minced in my mouth I was fine. I only had it once and I think I ate 4 bites. I do recommend if you are going to eat pasta make sure its whole wheat, you really want to get use to putting good healthy carb complex in your diet and limiting strictly to only 1/4 cup. These types of carbs are actualy essential for ones body if eaten in moderation. My band is empty and I am happy to report I can eat whole wheat bread (toasted) and even a half of a whole wheat bagel. Whole wheat is loaded with Fiber and believe me it is a crucial part of a persons body to have daily. Especially for regulating bm's Don't be afraid to try different healthy foods, just remember to take your time and chew chew chew...

    Before & After Visual ?

I can't visual or even imagine. I have been overweight most of my life. Its been so long I forgot what under 250 lbs would feel like. The lowest I have ever got to was 259 wayyyy back in the day. I always seem to stay so high in the 200's for the last 10 years. So no, I can't wrap my head around it. Even now I am still scared and wonder if I will ever get there...

    Protein.

I still can't make my quota when it comes to Protein, honestly my tracker indicates I am getting in just about 38 grams of protein on good days. I look back on how I dealt with protein pretty much all my life and honestly, I was barely getting in 25 grams a day. Since I track what I eat I am more aware and strive harder to eat more protein, while its still a task... BTW, I can't do Protein shakes since sugery because of my continuous acid reflux issues that seems to be triggered by the protein powders. So, I soley depend on regular food for all my protein intake at this point.

    Help

Hi there, your best bet would be to first contact your healthcare carrier and ask if bariatric surgery is covered under your plan. If so, your next step would be to find a reputable bariatric surgeon that accepts your insurance. You can ask your healthcare agent other questions if they do, such as how much your plan is covered, etc... Best of luck!
  17. Hi Alison, Thanks for sharing your story, you are another inspiration to all of us on here looking for mentors when it comes to success in weight loss! Congratulations you look fabulous!!!
  18. Okay so February was your surgery... Many factors you can look for. Your carb and salt intake? You need to track your calories, fat, Protein daily. You can do that on an app I love to use called 'Loseit" its wonderful and super useful in keeping me on track. Most surgeons allow 1200 calories a day, however if you are exercising a lot you may need to 'up' your calories just a little bit, play around with that and see how that works. According to your body weight and height and age you can find out where you should stand with your fat grams. As you can see I still weigh a lot and I try and get in about 25 grams of healthy fat a day. I watch my carbs very carefully and only eat healthy carbs such as 'whole wheat' only. Keeping my portions with carbs very minimal to about 1/4 cup with a meal. Keep in mind you should be having no more than a cup of food PER meal. Are you snacking in between?? keeping track is the only way you are going to be able to figure out what you need to do or not to do. Best of luck,
  19. sip sip sip......sloooooowly. You are not stretching your pouch on liquids that just streams through the band. However, you are 'rushing' your liquids down too fast and this will cause 'fullness' and 'gas' quickly because you are swallowing too much air when you drink too fast. Your stomache is new and needs lots of time to heal, between 4-6 weeks
  20. Everyone is different and everyone loses at their own pace. You didn't say when you had surgey. Healing your new stomache takes about 4-6 weeks. Are you following your surgeon's food plan? In any case, 40 pounds is a pretty big weight loss and you should be very proud of yourself for that. Keep up the great work and don't worry the weight will come off, sometimes we have to be patient... Best of luck,
  21. chicken broth (low sodium). Gatorade is great it it puts back all the electrolites in your body you lose. Apple juice .. Remember your healing and your body takes 4-6 weeks to do this.. Best of luck,
  22. You are very early out and still healing. Every surgeon is different with their food plan that you must follow. At 3 weeks I was just starting soft 'mushy' foods. Did your surgeon give you a food plan to follow? You should be worrying more about healing at this point like everyone has stated, it takes normally 4-6 weeks for your new stomache to heal. Best of luck,

    Gained Weight Since Surgery

Hi Princess, This is quite normal! Your body is in the healing process so you should be worried about that instead of losing weight right now. Many factors, body Fluid, that time of the month, salty foods, etc. The weight will come off, just be patient! Best of luck you are doing great
