The gas you are experiencing is internal. The only way you are going to get some relief from this is to walk it out. Many say a heating pad can help, however do NOT put the heating pad on your belly. Gas x strips you can try. Um, twirl your arms in circular motions (like a windmill). Walk, walk, move, move around..... wish you luck, it will pass!! Hand in there!!!

Tonks, I am very sorry to hear about this. I would like to know what were your symptoms if you had any? You said you had no previous problems with your band, but find this hard to believe that your band eroded into your stomache with no symptoms,is that even possible? This must be difficult for you, as you have come so far along. Congratulations on reaching your goal, do you have any plans on maintaining your current weight once the band is removed? Take care, -Patty

I Wanna See Pictures Of Your Dinner, Plated.
PattyGirl66 replied to radarluv's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Keep in mind this is MY portion for ME! Everyone is different and can eat differently. If you had a fill, more than likely you would not be able to eat this size, as it may have to be cut in half. It takes me relatively around 30 minutes to eat this. -
I Wanna See Pictures Of Your Dinner, Plated.
PattyGirl66 replied to radarluv's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
This is a typical Breakfast for me. I do not have a fill so my band is empty. I take small bites when I eat, and take my time. As a matter of fact I am eating this while I am posting. It allows me time to take breaks inbetween. Don't be frightened by the size, it could be the picture everything is 'small' size, including the plate. I even tracked all nutrients for my breakfast for you so you can see how much and what I am eatting: 1 Thomas' Mini Whole Wheat Bagel (toasted) 2 Egg whites 3 tsp. smart balance 'lite' butter with flaxseed 1/8 cup of Fat Free shredded cheese **Note, I put 1tsp of the lite butter into a 'non stick' pan** 1tsp of lite butter goes on each bagel side. (I measure everything to a tee) My breakfast total for today: Calories: 204 Protein: 15.2 grams Fat: 6.1 Carbs: 23.2 -
Sooo, I weigh myself once a week. Mostly on Wednesday Mornings, sometimes Thursdays. I got so anxious yesterday and jumped on the scale and it weighed me at 298. I was jumping around screaming with joy and happiness. Okay, that wasn't a dream it really happened. Today is officially my weigh day and i got on the scale and it weighed me at 302. Okay I am not complaining I am happy with the 2 pound lost for the week, really I am. Just that frigging scale!!!!!!!! It tricked me... I am sticking to my own advice, on the scale once a week on the same day, LOL

I Think My Band Is Too Tight....
PattyGirl66 replied to WendyUnBrOkEn's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hi Wendy, you got really great advice and comments from 'experienced' bandsters on here. I know you will do the right thing -
Well, with saying that I think that is the one of the benefits of having the band is that even when we lose track for whatever reason,we can hop right back on that horse and steer in the right direction. Great attitude! I think this time you are heading for success!!!

Hi Lori, I had the same issue, omg I can't even tell you! I cried like a baby for days because I couldn't drink Water the way I wanted too. I drove my poor friend Missy on here crazy with texts, LOL. As long as you are sipping on the water all day you will be fine. NOOO gulping! I also suggest buying gatorade for these early stages, it replenishes any loss of electrolites, including potassium that we lose. Hang in there, you are going to drink normal in no time. Its just now your new stomache is healing and you don't want to traumitize it with so much at one time. Goooo easy, drink all day, but sip! Yes, the color of your urine and also you can grap a piece of your skin (on your lower arm) pull it up and let it go. If it doesn't 'bounce' back you are dehydrated. If it snaps right back, your good! You are going to be just fine, pace yourself and take care,

Getting Sick And Having Lapband
PattyGirl66 replied to ☠carolinagirl☠'s topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
and when you get the 24 hour stomache bug, that sneaks up on you.. how do you prepare and what to get so you don't vomit every half hour! ugh! I had the bug last year in February, don't want to get it again, but if I do I want to be ready!! -
OHH you know I am so anxious to finally be under that 300 mark, I want it sooooo bad! I think that is why I got so impatient, because really I am usually very good to sticking with getting on it once a week. It truly is amazing how a household gadget can really trigger your emotions completely to happy, quickly to sad, sometimes ruining your whole spirit! I know it will happen, I just have to be patient

PattyGirl66 replied to lousianalady's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am glad to hear you are feeling much better!!! Hang in there hon, as your body takes around 4-6 weeks to heal. I felt my best in my 6th week but that is just me and everyone heals at their own pace. Lightheaded is a normal feeling. Don't over exert yourself, take your time, be patient. Before you know it, you will be up and running around, litterally Take care, -Patty -
Did Anyone Get Sick From Anesthesia?
PattyGirl66 replied to corgimom74's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was sick as a dog after surgery! OMG, that was the worst anesthesia ever!! I was got congested in my chest/nose. I was hacking up phelm, my nose got crusted and bled once when I blew into a tissue. It only lasted a few days, but still! I had anesthesia before, my last one when I had my hip replaced I was put under for over 4 hours while the surgeon worked on me consistantly. I had none of these after affects. I was up, alert, drinking Water, talking, etc. With this surgery, I didn't even know where the heck I was, I barely kept my head up. I felt strung out, LOL. Not in a good way of course Like I said, it only lasted a few days,. Everyone experiences are different with anesthesia, just keep in mind its a temporary feeling... -

Gazelle Edge Trainer I swear by this machine! Don't worry about the restricted weight usage, It holds me up and I am wayyyyy over the weight limit! This is the best workout without the heavy duty joint impact you feel on all those other machines used at the gym. I have severe arthritis in my left hip, my right hip was totally replaced years ago. So, I would highly recommend this to anyone with any joint pain, replacements, or is limited to doing exercise. You can find it anywhere, walmart, target, kmart, etc. .. do a google search for it. It can be found on Walmart.com at $99.00 but currently it is all sold out!! Thats because people everywhere are catching on. Don't worry you will get a good full body work out on this, believe me!!! Read the reviews and see why everyone is hooked!
