Dehydration can contribute to constipation. After surgery the biggest problem that most people experience is constipation/dehydration. water is very important. for occasional constipation senna is a good laxative for when you are seriously backed up. Senna comes in pill form and also in a tea. for staying normal i take probiotics and colace.

Subconsciously Changing My Mind About Surgery
JMarshall replied to Tiffany D's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
i was 70 % sure that i wanted to have surgery. we all have our doubts and have second thoughts about the decisions we make. The thing that pushed me to have surgery is that i was 100 % sure that i did not want to keep living the way i had lived for years. you have to weight the pros and cons of the surgery and then make you own decision. I am almost a year out and have lost 160 pounds since surgery and 200 pounds overall. best decision of my life. I can only give you my story and my experience. Good luck with your decision. -

You need to go back to the basics, Cut carbs out completely and stick to protein and vegetables also when you are about to slip, think about the reason that you had the surgery. Remember that you only fail when you give up. Stay strong and stay positive.

A relationship built on a partners frailties will crumble with any type of personal changes. Its not that WLS destroys relationships, its that WLS removes the veil that kept the sinking boat a float.

I received a letter in the mail stating that he was leaving Jewish hospital for a medical director job at Johnson and Johnson so unfortunately he is no longer performing surgery at all. sorry for the bad news. My surgery was done through the Jewish Weight loss center. im not sure if there surgeons perform the sleeve surgery at different locations. for more information check the link. http://www.morethanadiet.com/

Why Super Extra Vitamins?
JMarshall replied to Pinky Green's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
you guys should try the Bariatric fusion vitamins. Its a complete chew-able multivitamin made for Sleeve, Bypass, and band patients. i have been taking them since surgery and all my blood work comes back normal. Not bad tasting at all and i dont have to have 8 different pills to take. http://www.bariatricchoice.com/bariatric-fusion-gastric-bypass-vitamins-supplements.html?gclid=CKbpnPDR9LICFUud4Aod_1sA7A#.UHR3GpgxAxo -

Doubt that you are sabotaging your success, just falling back into old habits. Breaking habits it the hardest thing we face, we all spent years building bad habits, it will take years breaking them also. Dont beat yourself up, every day is a battle, some days you win and some days you lose. Stay strong and stay positive.

I like Dr Fegelman and i prefer him over other surgeons because he is the chief surgeon at Jewish hospital. He is a straight shooter and the care that i received from him and his team was great. as far as prices im not sure. insurance paid for most of the surgery and hospital. i paid 3000 dollars total after everything was said and done. I don't know doctor Curry so i cant speak to his merits but i will say that i would not want anyone else performing surgery on me except Dr. Fegelman. They were more worried about me fitting onto the operating table and being able to position the laparoscopic tools correctly than my height or weight. i am one of his largest patients.

Question For Vet Sleevers...
JMarshall replied to Curvy Girl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
i dont know if i can consider myself a vet but i am 11 months out and 200 pounds down. i have normal meals but i do have to take it slowly. I can eat about half of a burger and a few fries. i still have the pressure feeling sometimes when eating but it does not hurt. the pressure i feel is the new way that i know im full and its time to stop. i stopped getting the pain portion about 5 months out. so yes it does get better. hopefully this helps. -
