Day 15 Post-Op - Icky Vitamins And Calcium Citrate...
JMarshall commented on CAsleeve's blog entry in CAsleeve's Blog
i take the Bariatric Fusion Vitamins. Its a Multi vitamin made specificly for bariatric patients. It has everything that is needed in 1 pill so you dont have to have a cabinet full of vitamins. i had my blood work done 2 months after surgery and everything came back normal. Price is not bad either. the reason i like them so much is because its chewable, great taste for a vitamin, and no chalkiness or after taste. http://www.bariatricchoice.com/bariatric-fusion-gastric-bypass-vitamins-supplements.html -

Has Anyone Been Approved Without Having To Do The 6Mos Supervised Diet......
JMarshall replied to krenee's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
i have BCBS and all i needed was the 5 year history , pysch eval and physical. also my BMI was 59 and i had hypertension and severe back pain. from start to finish everything took about three months -
yea i heard those too " you not that big man" or " just try to diet and exercise" and the worst " i heard of people that gain all the weight back after surgery" . bottom line is that the only people that understand being overweight is overweight people. my decisions for surgery was based on feeling better. not really worried about my looks.

2 Days After Surgery! Just Got Home.
JMarshall commented on Shesgotstyle's blog entry in Shesgotstyle's Blog
i used the gasx strips to ease my gas pains after surgery. it really helped. i also spit up some blood. the doctor stated that it comes mostly from the throat being irritated from the tubes that help you breath during the surgery. walk as much as possible it really helps with the gas discomfort also. welcome to the "losers" side. -
i have been taking Bariactric Fusion chew-able vitamins. taste is not bad at all and there is no chalkiness or after taste. i also had blood work done last week and everything came back normal so i would say that they definitely work . My first month i also suffered from lack of energy. Gatorade helped , i had an electrolyte problem. http://www.bariatricchoice.com/bariatric-fusion-gastric-bypass-vitamins-supplements.html?gclid=CMTM0u7A8K0CFYXd4Aodm3F8sA

I feel your pain. i too find myself doing a whole lot of nothing sometimes which was apart of my problem before surgery. i find that keeping myself busy keeps my mind off some of the negative things. i have made the commitment to myself to remove some of the negative influences in my life. I also find myself listening to a lot more music to keep my mind stimulated. we all are going to have good and bad days. the good thing is that my psychiatrist stated that most people in our situation have " situational depression" . Which means that as we lose weight we will naturally start to feel better mentally. i didnt get my energy back until about 1.5 months post op.

It sounds like head hunger more than anything. Try to drink some protein every time you feel " hungry" . i know i had some crazy head hunger for the first three weeks after surgery. i messed up and tried to eat normal food. i threw up and had a bad case of the slime's. i learned my lesson. good luck and feel better.

my surgeon performs the 3 major WLS and when i had my first visit he was really gunning for me to get the sleeve. i have a high BMI and when i went in i was only looking at getting the band. after talking with him and going through the pro's and cons of each surgery he advised me to go home and do more research before making my decision. that was the best advise that anyone has given me. he gave his recommendation and then told me to do some homework. well i am sleeve and doing good. knowledge is power. i am so glad that i didnt have the band, it would have been a complete waste of money.

Bmi Over 60 I Am 4'11 Questions
JMarshall replied to newgrandmother11's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
At my highest weight i was 540 pounds. i was sleeved at 490 pounds on 11/8/11 and i am now at 414 pounds. i have been taken off blood pressure medicine and i am not longer borderline diabetic. back pain has subsided also. so far so good for me. good luck with your decision. the main reason i chose the sleeve is because there is no mal-absorption and it can be always be revised to the Rny if needed. -
Congrats and good luck.

So Nervous And Need Some Positive Words!
JMarshall commented on tiffanye's blog entry in My surgery is TOMORROW!
i know i went through all of what you just explained. i was nervous even while i was getting wheeled into operation room. It was my first surgery so i was even more anxious. i was also sad about not being able to eat the same foods. i had my surgery before thanksgiving so i missed out on thanksgiving and Christmas dinner. it was worth it though. a little over 2 months out and i can now start testing out normal food. ive lost 74 pounds since the surgery. its definitely worth it. stay strong and stay positive.
