call your doctor , they might put you on some precautionary meds for infection. kinda gross but does the puss have a nasty smell. if there is a smell then its most likely is infected. keep the wounds dry and wear loose clothing. -
Back Pain Remedies?
JMarshall replied to It's all new's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Ive had a reduction in back pain since surgery , but i have had some increase in back aches and soreness. i have lost almost 190 pounds. my doctor attributes the aches to rapid weight loss and the muscles having to change as my structure changes. i have started physical therapy to strengthen my core and help correct my posture. it has gotten better overall but i still have some general aches. also i have a herniated disk in my back which gives me problems from time to time. i haven't had to use pain meds in a while since i lost all the weight. physical therrapy might help your problems. good luck! -
Kinda blurry, but you get the idea lol

Im Not Ashamed But Need Help Coping With Questions I Dont Want To Answer...
JMarshall replied to LorenaVaca's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am pretty open when people ask questions about my spontaneous weight loss. i tell them i had a surgery to help cure my "fattness". i generally get some laughs but in all honesty i dont care how other people feel about MY decision. most people are supportive and some are negative but at the end of the day you are having this surgery. As far as work the supervisor/work issue. the "Female Surgery" excuse should work. -

My Hubby Doesn't Support Me Spending $15K For Surgery
JMarshall replied to tango16's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Does he not support you having th surgery? or does he not agree with the cost of having the surgery ? -
Most real men won't care about things like stretch marks or a little loose skin. As long as he likes you for who you are, than there should not be a problem.

go to the doc and have them check your blood pressure.

go to the doctor, you might be dehydrated . I spent 2 days out in the sun and had to go to the ER to get fluids for being severly dehydrated.

Wanting To Eat Forbidden Food Before Surgery!
JMarshall replied to ButterflyAngel's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
i recommend having your last meal 2 weeks from surgery. also you should go ahead and clear your house of all bad foods. once you have the sleeve and are put on a liquid diet for 2 weeks you will thank me. head hunger and craving gets pretty strong and if you have the bad food in your house ultimately, it will win. Also by last meal i don't mean go crazy and go on a binge . -

First Week Discouraging Stall
JMarshall replied to vsjb's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I wouldn't worry about the small gain. i don't suggest weighing yourself daily. Weigh yourself maybe 3 times a week. your weight will fluctuate day to day. make sure you are getting your liquid. Do not walk if it is 100 degrees outside. dehydration will set you back and slow the weight loss. give yourself a break you are only a week out. -
Whats Better Sleeve Or Ru En Y?
JMarshall replied to got2bthin's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have been sleeved for 7 months now and have lost 130 pounds. its definitely possible. Also if the sleeve does not work it can be converted to the RNY, but the RNY cannot be switched to being a sleeve. i say get the sleeve and if it is does not work(which im sure it will) then have it converted into the RNY. -
$2,000. Copay...do You Have To Pay It All Upfront?
JMarshall replied to marzee0728's topic in Insurance & Financing
i had 500 bucks to pay until i met the 80/20 ratio. so i had to pay the surgoens office 500 before surgery. the only person who can give you that answer would be your surgeons office. if you need to pay that much im sure they would try some type of payment plan. who has 2000 dollars just sitting around ? Call your doctors office they should be able to let you know what is needed up front. all together i payed about 3500 for my surgery. best money i ever spent. -
Congrats! When i got that letter it was like i won the lottery, and in a way i did .

6 Months Out... How Many Calories Are You All Taking In Daily?
JMarshall replied to SicChl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
im 7 months out and 130 pounds down. im around 1200 calories each day and about 90 grams of protien. Each person is a little different on what they need to sustain the wieght loss. Try increasing your proiten intake to break the stall. That seemed to help me out when i hit a stall. Good job on the 71 pounds that is great. -
I hope all is well. keep us posted. Ill pray for you.

We all fall off every once in a while, the good thing is that you recognize that you fell off and are willing to get back to it. i suggest weighing yourself only once a week. you will drive yourself crazy looking at the scale daily. Stay strong and stay positive.
