Someone Noticed!!!!!!
Jerseygirl82 replied to feb27bandwoman's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Such an awesome feeling! -
What an awesome couple of days I have had! First< i cut about 5 inches off of my hair and got some nice light blonde highlights. I think it has really changed my face and has given me a boost. Second, I am down another few pounds to make 27lbs lost! And my biggest achievement is that I finally went to Old Navy for some new jeans. I went in and grabbed the biggest size they carry, a 20. In Lane Bryant I had been a 22/24 so I was a little nervous about the 20's but I tried them on anyway. They Fit!! Plus I got some really cute tops to make some nice new summer outfits. Well I get home and put the pants on and notice they are a little loose! I can pull them off without unbuttoning them. Holy Cow. The thought never entered my head to try on an 18 but that is what I need now. Such a different mind set this is. I used to be so happy when something fit I never would have thought about going smaller. Another added bonus is that Lane Bryant can be pricey and all of my stuff from Old Navy was wayyyyy cheaper! So, new hair and new smaller clothes to go with the new me. Yeah, I could get used to this.

I was banded April 6, 2012 and have already been to several amusement parks and gone on all the rides without a problem.

Advise On 2Nd Fill Needed
Jerseygirl82 replied to waitingpatiently's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
First off, congrats on the weight loss so far! That is awesome! I would say definitely bring all of these concerns to your surgeons attention. He or she are probably used to these questions and may have some insight on what they see happen when people are in your situation. Hoepfully you have a doctor that you are able to discuss things with. I have 5cc in an 11cc band and go in a few weeks and hope to get a little more added because I know its not enough. Your doc may advise you to add a small amount like .5cc and see what that does. Good luck, please post what the outcome is! -
I feel like I have a lot of free time lately and when I stopped to think about it I rea Used it was because I'm not snacking all of the time!

Hey its a massage! yay! At the very least it will be relaxing. And since its with a chiropractor he will definitely know what hes doing. Good Luck!

Banded For Over 4 Years And I Have Struggled Since Day 1...it's Time For This Band To Be Removed!
Jerseygirl82 replied to Lyse8432's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
First let me say how sorry I am that you had such a difficult time with everything. It sounds like who ever did your surgery did not prepare you very well for life with the band. Carbonation is a big no-no, so that alka-seltzer you took is definitely not good since it can inflate you stomach and create all sorts of problems. Also the amount of vomiting it sounds like you have done is bound to damage your band as well. Did you take any prep classes prior to your surgery? it is absolutely crucial to learn "the rules" of banded life in order to be successful with the band. Even if you have the band removed they are good healthy guidelines to live by so it may be worth looking into. Good luck, I hope everything works out for you. -
Make sure you are taking little sips and not gulps, it is hard to change habits we have had for so many years. Also, get up and walk that will help you feel normal again so much faster. Just do little trips around your house, once every commercial break. Doing that will really help you move the gas out and help you recover better.

Anyone From April Had Banded Filled?
Jerseygirl82 replied to newme0617's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Banded on April 6 and got my first fill on May 10. He put 5cc in an 11cc band and I can tell the difference but still able to eat more than I should or would like to eat. -
Some of the crystal lights have energy stuff in them. Not sure if it's caffeine or not but it might help.

Am I Crazy?
Jerseygirl82 replied to lolitawantsaband's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Wow! That is awesome. Good for you. My process started on December 6, 2011 and my surgery was April 6, 2012. Not too bad considering some people wait years! -
Thanks Alot World News Tonight! And That Is Sarcasm
Jerseygirl82 replied to kbliss78's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
That sucks. I'm sorry that they aren't being more supportive for you. I think in there own weird way they think they are but maybe just let them know that you made an informed decision and now all you are asking for is there positive support, not horror stories. Good luck. -
I got my first fill today! He put 5cc in an 11cc band so I am curious as to how much difference this will make for me. I am hoping to now start making some serious headway and start losing a good amount. Very excited. 20 lost already but looking for a few big weeks to really pump me up.

Banded May 4 And Dying!
Jerseygirl82 replied to Tawni's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
get up and walk, as much as possible! Seriously, this helped me a great deal. Just short little trips around the house then sit for a few minutes and get up and do it again. It helps move the gas through a lot better. -
Well, I joined lose it! And have started to track my calories and protein. It is a very good app/website so far. Easy to use and has a lot to it. I am hoping this helps me succeed! And I also went to the gym today! And kicked butt if I do say so myself! I jogged on the treadmill for the first time ever!!!

If you are really worried about the hernia, call your doctor. But as far as the fill goes it could take a few weeks to adjust to it, so if you are eating properly and not vomiting it sounds ok. However go with your instincts and if you are not comfortable then get a little taken out. Good luck.

Are You Your Own Worst Enemy?
Jerseygirl82 replied to Jean McMillan's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Magazine
Absolutely true. I am my own worst enemy. I am so mad that I have not lost more than I have but I know that it is me failing and not the band. I need more help. I need.....? -
No worries. You will be out for the procedure and when you wake up the only thing you should notice is a slightly scratchy throat. Good luck.

Having Second Thoughts
Jerseygirl82 replied to hopingtobebandedsoon's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
People tend to complain more than say good stuff so take it with a grain of salt. If it helps I really freaked out right before surgery but now I am almost a month post op and love it. -
I was banded on 4/6/12 and have lost 19lbs so far.

I am in Salem county very near the Cumberland county border.
