December 2011 Sleevers Update
Itsanewdaycassandra replied to ChunkyAndFluffy75's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
3 years ago I brought a pair of GAP Long & Lean jeans in size 20 without trying them on because I hated trying on stuff and going to the fitting room, I was so disappointed when I got home and I couldn’t get them ½ up. This was a turning point for me; this is when I started thinking of WLS. Today 10 weeks post op I am wearing them to work. I am so happy for this NSV! DOS 12/1/12 287 CW 2/10/12 249 Down 38lbs -

Telling People How Much I've Lost...means Admitting I Had That Much To Lose.

Wow this really hit home for me. I know what you mean, somehow when I was 300 I just felt like a big girl. I knew that I was large but still did not fully accept how the weight shaped my life. It saddens me that for years I would not take photos or go to the park and play with my son or even really look in the mirror at my body and not just my face. But, here I am now, so thankful to be on the other side and now I know that I have to adopt the things that I dropped from my life back. No matter what you should be proud! And you never have to give out full disclosure on how much you have lost if you don’t want to. Sending you loving thoughts! -

I think we are all going tohave tese kinda of days, its nice that it's not everyday as it may have been in the past. And yes Superbowl was hrd for me also all the finger foods. -
Guess what Yoga was fun!!! Could I do most of the poses…? No…but there was an open atmosphere and almost everyone in the class came across as non judgmental which was nice, so I think I’m going to put down becoming a Yoga chick but 2013 as a goal. My vote is that everyone gives it a try, its much less stressful then other gym experiences.

I'll post how the class went. I could really use it now, I'm having 1 heck of a work day, before sleevie this would have been an eating day.
-
LOL really!!! Thank you for that and maybe I’ll take a gasX this afternoon….

I felt the same way, but it got better after I added the PPI to my routine and also SF Jello is good you and kind of chew it, I saw on some site the you can make Jello with chicken stock and I thought of doing it but never did instead I mixed unflavored unjury with chicken stock and it helped. Hang in there; it will get better... you are only 5 days out. -

December 2011 Sleevers Update
Itsanewdaycassandra replied to ChunkyAndFluffy75's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am doing well, I know I am down more than 30lbs but I don’t know exactly because I only weigh with my doctors, but I should know more after Friday because I have a visit then. I am down 2-3 sizes, I can get into most 20’s without much pulling and pinching. I am slowly working on the exercise. I started water aerobics this weekend and I will be doing yoga as well. I feel amazing like I am coming back to life again. My eating is going well during the week but on the weekends I find that there is too much down time for me to want to graze so I have to work on a plan to keep me in place, other than that I am thankful that I can’t over do it, and really happy with my sleeve. -

Month Six And Feeling Very Emotional.. It's All Over The Place

No you are not alone at all, I hear you loud and clear, I have said this before and now I have to remind myself again that obesity is a complex disease and currently the world at large only treats it as a minor inconvenience or vanity. The only advice that can offer is that you allow yourself to feel the way that you do and to find someone that you can talk it over with. You have done something life changing and so all aspects of your life are changing now. -
I know that must be tough but I think that it’s important for me and you and everyone to remember that this is a personal journey and not to compare the awesome progress that you have mad to that of another person. I am guilty of this also but it’s not the way to go if you ask me. Feel proud and take time to notice all the small changes in your body. You will get to the point where you can buy new stuff for now work your sleeve and celebrate every small victory that you have made on this journey!

That completely sucks about your boyfriend, but if you want to look on the brighter side(?) it is good practice to do something outside of food, my suggestion is try something that you always wanted to but didn’t. We will all struggle with finding a replacement for food, and so we might as well start now. Happy birthday!

My 1St Dinner Party And I Am Nervous.
Itsanewdaycassandra replied to Itsanewdaycassandra's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I did really well, I had an appetizer of fried smoked oysters and caviar and 2 sips of champagne and 2 very small bites of cake this all took place over 4 hours and I had no issues at all. I nice social treat and I feel good about the choices I made. Thanks everyone for the support. -

Today is my Mom’s birthday and she is having a party at a nice bistro, there are a few people who do not know about my surgery and a few others who do know that will be there, but I’m nervous about what to eat and drink any advice? -

Thanks So Cal Kurt and MegInNOLA, all very helpful, I’ll let you both know what happens. I looked at the menu and they have small plate items listed so I’m not sure what that is, maybe something larger than an appetizer? You are right it’s about the celebration so I’ll enjoy the company and as for the people who don’t know you are right again I am proud of my sleeve so I can share if they ask. -

I was sleeved 12/1/11 so I am 8 weeks out and I’m on regular foods. I haven’t done well with most refine cabs like rice and bread (I haven’t tried pasta but I want to hold off). I’m really concerned with drinking, I had a few sip of champagne for New years but outside of that no alcohol and I know that there will be drinking which isn’t usually a problem for me. I would like one drink, not to make it a habit but what if any should I consider. -
I am 8 weeks out and I had a similar pain and I have spotting on and off even now but it is beginning to regulate. This is a major surgery so just take it day by day.
