  1. Oh man. I ate a little bit of eggs and cottage cheese this morning for the first time since surgery and they went down ok. So I ended up trying a little more of them tonight with cottage cheese and my sleeve rejected it within a minute! I violently vomited all of it up. It was very unpleasant. I am wondering since it went down ok this morning but not tonight, if it was the food or me. I wonder if I ate it too fast. How many bites do you guys normally take? I heard 5-7 good bites is what to eat. I don't know what I did wrong but I think I will figure it out with trial and error.
  2. Hey Capt Derel! I hope everything goes good for you in TJ. I think you will be one tough son of a gun you know? You just strike me as that. You will probably rock the sleeve hardcore. I just know it! Please update when you get a chance.
  3. Feeling pretty good today. Ready to get my stitches taken out. Ate some well chewed eggs and cottage cheese and it tasted good.

    Advise, Help, Assistance

Hey 15.5 pounds in a couple of months is actually not bad! Hold your head up! That is actually a good start. I think you may just be expecting huge numbers but your numbers are actually good and steady. Think about it. 11/29 was just a couple of months and a week or so ago!

I Failed The Lapband - Please Help Me.

Hi. I am curious if you have any room for fills left in your band? Have you considered that? Maybe you don't have enough restriction. Also, I have to say I know a lot of people who got lapband revised to a vsg after either not losing enough weight or having their band erode or slip. Good luck I hope you can figure it out.

    Dont Get A Lapband

Since the band has not been successful for you for a variety of reasons, have you considered revision surgery such as the vertical sleeve? I am sorry it didn't work out
  11. Hey I was hungry on day 5 too. It will get better. Chicken broth will help.

Pregnant 3 Months After Sleeve Surgery

OK, I know someone personally who got pregnant after the sleeve. I met her on a gastric sleeve support group on facebook. She got pregnant several months after the sleeve and hit her 100 pound goal a year and a half after VSG. She had a healthy baby and she continued to lose weight easily after the baby was born! It just took her a little longer to hit goal. She didn't have much to lose either. She is tiny. Many people who need to lose 100 lbs or less take 12-18 months to lose it all.
  13. OK I'm only 5 days post op and I am noticing hunger pangs and feeling hungry and even stomach growling. I thought you weren't supposed to feel physically hungry this early on? I am getting plenty of fluids in. I don't get it! Guys, help me out here. I'm a newly sleeved lady who doesn't understand what I'm going through completely.

    I Cant Belive Im Hungry.....

I am truly sure you are just having a small stall. I have read tons of stall posts on here. Don't get discouraged. Stress makes you hang on to weight ! You will lose again. Wishing you the best!
  16. Went and saw Underworld 3d today. Loved it. Ordered a giant water and didn't even get jealous of the large cokes and popcorns :-)

  17. My tummy is growling less today. Thank you guys for your posts. I know its normal now. I am trying to get used to this tiny tummy lol. I am going to be trying some creamy soups soon and I cannot wait.
  18. Wow, I'm an average American and I have no insurance because my hubby and I are self employed. We have an average income. Definitely couldn't afford U.S. prices. Lucky enough I could even afford Mexico prices to be honest as 4500$ plus airfare is a big chunk of change for me! I only did it to help with weight that never seems to want to go away and diabetes that has been scaring the crap out of me!

    Who Does This Alone?

Congrats Shannon! I am sooo happy for you! I will only be a month ahead. I had my surgery last friday with Almanza and all went well. There were a few hiccups with the travel from the airport to the hospital and some loud noises and overcrowdedness at the recovery house, but, the surgery itself was fine and the doctor did a good job. I wish you all of the best!!
  20. Congratulations and wishing you the best of success in your journey. My date is the same as yours. :-)
  21. Darla, that is so exciting!! Good luck! My surgery is on Friday and I am barely able to contain the nerves and excitement. I think I will be fine once it's over but until then--the butterflies are going crazy!
  22. Congratulations! I am also type 2 diabetic and want to nip this thing in the bud. I am having surgery Friday. Let's keep in touch and see how our diabetes changes after surgery. Hoping it goes into remission for both of us! Hope your surgery goes smoothly!

    Who Does This Alone?

Hi Shannon I leave Thursday and go into Tijuana for surgery on Friday I am going alone. I am lucky to have met a couple of people online who will be having surgery the same day as me! I am so excited and yes a bit nervous. I think I will be honestly fine if all the pre op tests and the surgery go off without a hitch. I'm pretty nervous about all of these tests. LOL. I'm not really nervous about going to Mexico alone at all.

    Diabeties And Pre-Op Surgery

My biggest challenge is not caving in and eating something bad for me. Knowing that this may be the last time I can eat solids for a while after surgery has certainly been mind blogging. I have been craving bad foods! It's hard not to cave in. We just have to remember this is to help us with our weight and our diabetes
