Just Returned From Mexicali... And Still Smiling!
Sleeved&Hopeful replied to SmilinGal's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Congrats! Flying home from San Diego was smooth except when I had to take a small plane from Dallas to the local small airport. Those little planes are so loud and a little scary lol. I am very happy for you. I didn't personally use Dr. Aceves as my budget wouldn't allow it, but I've heard amazing things about him. I am so glad you haven't had many problems or pain. It makes this journey much better when you don't have to stress about being in pain. -
Happy 1 Year Sleeversary To Me!
Sleeved&Hopeful replied to JaspersGirl's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
You know I read on a study that many people continue to lose another 10-15% on average in the second year of surgery. So really there is still hope for sure if you use the stats. Also, just using your own mind and motivation. You still don't have a 60 oz stomach. You still can't eat as much as before surgery and you probably never will. Use that tool and lose that weight. I know you can do it. I am a lower BMI like you and I am only 1 month out and I hope to reach goal by year 1 however, if I don't, I will keep working on it until I get where I need to be. A death in the family is very hard and that can very well explain some of your weight loss stall. I don't know anyone who wouldn't react very hard to something like that. Best of luck to you and yes please stay in touch. Sleevers who are over a year out often stop contributing to the community and that lack of insight is really sad. We need your input more than you know and appreciate it immensely. -

New Feb Sleevers Any Regrets? Best And Worst Thing So Far
Sleeved&Hopeful replied to andi0120's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
So far no regrets. I had horrible acid reflux and heartburn the first 2 weeks but since taking prilosec and antacid tablets I have not had any problems. I only threw up once after eating eggs and cottage cheese. Haven't eaten eggs since then! That is so far the only really unpleasant thing I've had. I have been really lucky in that drinking fluids has been easy for me. I have been drinking more than the recommended amount. -

Nsvs At Reastaurants!
Sleeved&Hopeful replied to Less of Leslie's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am with you on this one! Went to Chili's with hubby one time and got the baked potato soup and just ate the soup and mashed the potatoes in it and ate that. Skipped the bacon bits and chives inside as they were a bit much on the new tummy. Then went to Outback one time and ordered quesadillas and ate the inside of one and was full. No one really said anything to me but I did notice the server was trying to stuff more food down my throat lol. Told him I just wasn't hungry. -
Gaining Weight Right After Surgery
Sleeved&Hopeful replied to DC Smith's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I agree with readyforachange. This happens to some people. I do think it's the IV fluids as well. You get pumped up with them and it takes some time. Plus, also remember that airplane flights can cause fluid retention if you flew anywhere for surgery. So either one or both of those could have contributed! -

Almost Died Fm Vsg Surgery.
Sleeved&Hopeful replied to Kim David's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Kim david- Please consider getting resleeved in Mexico for 4500-5500$. I would be peeved if I had surgery and did not lose the weight. Or consider a resleeve and duodenal switch surgery in Mexico or somewhere it is affordable. If you can afford it in the States, then do it. DON"T let your problems after surgery make you bitter & angry. Consider these options to get the weight off and I guarantee you will not fear as bitter and angry. As far as suing the doctor, keep trying to do what you need to do to get it sorted out. I mean I am sure they didn't even apologize? That would tick me off. Even an apology would probably work. -
Congratulations on your weight loss!

One More Day!
Sleeved&Hopeful replied to Luisa4ever21's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
You are feeling all of the normal things that we all feel. I felt scared, nervous, and worried that I would be one of the few people who didn't lose weight even with surgery. I am only 3 weeks out so I don't know if I will be a success yet, but the restriction is quite helpful so far.The emotions will be better once you are over surgery and you begin to feel somewhat normal. Good luck -

I agree with Pookeyism! Get proof of your 911 call and get a lawyer! A medical review board of doctors are likely going to be skeptical. They are not really objective. -

I Was Sooo Bad Yesterday!
Sleeved&Hopeful replied to upwardfocusedgirl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
One bad day is not the end of the world. Don't beat yourself over it. It's been said a thousand times that people diet their way fat. If you deprive yourself TOO much, you will perhaps binge and overeat and it will be a bad cycle. Just be smart and do what you feel is right. No one is perfect. -
My First Outing And Peer Pressure Rant!
Sleeved&Hopeful replied to Shells's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You just have to ignore these types of people and laugh them off. Tell them you are watching your weight for personal health reasons and it is highly important. They don't have to live in your body. You do.. It's your life. If they don't understand, that is their problem. I think avoiding negative people post op is very important. If I were you, I'd avoid them as much as possible -
Weight Gain In Week 4
Sleeved&Hopeful replied to Tracey37's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The only thing I know is many people stall in week 3 for a week or so. It is really common. Also, is it close to your time of the month? That could be it a little too. -
