    Stupid ? I Know

This is just my opinion....but don't sabotage yourself yet!!!! You are doing so good
  2. I'm SO emotional right now too! I'm a week out from surgery (and doesn't help I'm expecting my period in a day or two). I called my best friend yesterday to invite her out to a baseball game on Sunday since I'll be a wreck waiting around all day on Sunday for surgery the next day. She flat out said no...then backtracked with some excuses. It shouldn't have upset me...but it did. I cried on and off for hours. My big annoyance at work was my boss filling up the huge communal candy jar that sits right across from the bathroom I visit 20 times a day with all these damn liquids. Oh well...4 more days of work I hope things start getting easier for you
  3. Enjoying a cup of sugar free jello! Had my "breakfast" shake a little early today as I had a dr appt. Trying to make it to noon before my next shake.

  4. Hey! I wanted to invite all of your June Sleevers to a chat session. As much as I love reading through the message boards each and every day, I thought it'd be fun to get as many of us together in the chat room to bond. Date: May 31 Time: 8:30 Eastern, 7:30 Central, 6:30 Mountain, 5:30 Pacific I don't want to set an ending time, so come and hang out as much as you can! Can't wait to meet you all!

    Pre-Op Diet

My insurance required supervised diet was very similar. Here is a typical day, maybe it will help?! Breakfast- 2 poached eggs, 1 piece of whole wheat toast with 1 tsp butter, handful of spinach, banana Lunch- lean cuisine type meal, 1-1.5 cups broccoli or green Beans, apple saucecup-- or a 6" subway sub with lots of "extra" veggies and an applesauce cup. Afternoon Snack- 8 oz of 1% milk and 1 scoop Protein powder Dinner- 3-4 oz lean meat, 1-1.5 cups broccoli or green beans, some sort of fruit If I felt I needed a snack, I would have 8 oz of milk and it really did help! Good luck!!! You can do it!

    How Much Time Off Work

My surgeon put 4 weeks on my disability papers! I'm hoping that I'll recover much faster of course, and be able to have some "me time" before heading back. I just want to make sure I'm comfortable in my own skin and with my new eating habits before returning.

    Any Seductions On Exercise Monitors.

I love my body bugg!! I found a coupon online for 20% off, so it was under $100. You get 6 months of the management system with the order, then you have to pay (I think $80 for a year or $10/month if you go monthly).
  8. Great question! I'm anxious to find the answer too as my surgeon will be removing my gallbladder as well. I don't currently have issues with gallstones, but it's prevalent in my family, and if I can avoid that pain altogether, I'm in!!

    Clear Liquids Sunday Monday Surgery

You can do this!!! Just make sure you have an approved drink at your side all the way to midnight If you haven't already, I recommend getting a bunch of different flavors of crystal light single service packets. This way you can switch it up quite a bit! If you're allowed sugar free jello or popsicles, chew a couple of those throughout the day!
  10. Stopped dreaming about my sugery....started dreaming about chinese buffet! *smiles*

  11. Ugh...day 2 of liquids :)

  12. Half way through Day 1 of liqui diet....so far so good! Hopefully I''ll have enough strength for ZUMBA tonight

  13. Tried he lemon tea with just water and it's pretty good! I think these with water will be a good lighter drink for later at night.

    June Sleevers Chat Date!

Sorry all...PM I wouldn't dare ask someone on the west coast to be up at 5:30 am. Thanks for catching that Teasha!
  15. Hey all! I got the nectar sample pack the other day. As I was looking at the "instructions" it mentioned to mix with Water and not milk. I wanted to check to see if any of you use the nectar drinks and what you used to mix it with. Just a little scared it'll be too watery! THANKS!!!!
  16. All I know...is you can do it! If you need more support, you know where to reach me!
  17. Yo go girl!!! PEvette, you rocked it today I'm so proud that you stuck to your guns, it shows me that you are going to be so successful with your surgery. They have you started on your liquids early. We have the same date, and I don't officially start until Friday the 1st, although I'm semi starting early. We will have to connect around the 18th to check in on our progresses!!

    Any June Sleevers?

Hey all!! Congrats on your surgery dates I'm so excited for all of us!! So, anyone else having crazy surgery dreams yet?!? Last night I had a dream where I was checking in for surgery, but my mom was walking around in a hospital gown all looped out on pain meds and muscle relaxers (to be fair, she did just have 3 of the vertebra in her neck fused). That's all I remember, but it was pretty funny.
  19. My mom is coming to stay with me for a couple days as well. We will be taking care of each other though. She had three disks in her neck fused. It'll just be nice having her around for company. She's usually one who can't sit still and was planning an deep cleaning my house before she found out she had to have her surgery. This just means I'll have to do it ahead of time so it'll be easy to maintain.
  20. Hey all! I'm sure everyone is curious as to what they will look like when you hit your weight loss goals. I found an awesome website http://makeovr.com/weightmirror/liftupload.php that helps you visualize it. All you need to do is upload your picture, edit your current weight and height, and adjust the weight you want to lose. It's slightly limited, as I want to lose about 150 lbs, but would show me about 100. It's an illusion, but fun to play with Here's an example of what I may look like after losing 100 lbs if the site is correct
  21. Hello all. Had able great day yesterday! I stuck to replacing two meals with shakes and drank 80 oz of fluids besides. My only downfall was I had a lunch date. We went to a local restaurant and I had a huge turkey burger and about half of the homemade chips that came with it....I really want to see Jim again before surgery (which he knows about) but not sure if I can because dates usually revolve around some sort of food. It'll be much easier dating when my sleeve is healed!!

    Bougie Sizes?

My surgeon uses a 34f (sounds like a bra size...lol). I also have a long torso, so this will be interesting.
  23. Going to try to start tweeting my journey...follow me @sara_vb

  24. Hello all! I officially start my pre-op diet on June 1st for a June 11th surgery. My pre-op seems pretty lenient, although I'm not allowed any solid food. I am allowed 5-6 shakes a day, most are to be like slimfast or carnation instant breakfast as they have more nutrients than your typical whey Protein. Then I'm allowed as much Water, 0 calorie liquids, sugar free popsicles and sugar free Jello as needed. My NUT also said I could have sugar free lattes in addition to my shake allowance. The best part, my surgeon just did the 10 day diet as well, so he is more sympathetic as to what I'm going though I've decided to ease my way into the full liquid diet. This week I am replacing my breakfast with a carnation instant breakfast shake, and starting on Saturday I'll be replacing my dinner as well. I feel my co-workers will be happier with me if I eat my solid food at lunch I am having my "last supper" over Memorial Day weekend. We are going to have some awesome chicken enchiladas, chips and salsa....and MARGARITAS!! I haven't drank since starting this journey in January and don't plan on drinking for at least a year after. My family is filled with addicts, and I don't need to tempt myself with a transfer addiction. Love you all! It'll be so great to share this journey. Good luck!!!
