    6Days Post Op Food Recommendation

I would really recommend waiting for you appointment tomorrow and asking the doctor. I really urge you to follow their plan.

    Time?

About 5 months! I took my first seminar at the end of December and had my first set of appointments in February. I had about a month that I couldn't do anything as I was waiting for my new insurance to kick in, and then there was a mix up if it was really going to cover it. I had my first block of appointments in February, then had to do 3 months of a supervised diet. It was only about a month from getting my approval letter to my surgery date.
  3. Mom is here...and already taking a nap. Who's going to be taking care of who here?!?! *smiles*

    Last Chance Eating

I had a pretty simple last meal with my friends about a week before I officially started my liquid diet. We had awesome mexican and margaritas! But, then I stuck to my diet plan of replacing 2 meals a day with shakes...and dove right into my full liquid diet on time and haven't looked back. Good luck all!
  9. Starting to make my lists of things to do before surgery! I mostly just want to keep myself busy the next few days/

    Need Therapy

Let me preface I'm not trying to scare you out of surgery, but I want you to be successful!! One of my friends had WLS about 5 yeas ago as a self pay and wasn't psychologically ready. She turned into a sex addict, and then once she got over that she became bulimic. There are SO many crazy things that you will go through as you get ready for surgery...I'm really thankful that my psych saw something in me that made her say she wanted to see me a couple more times. Those follow-up visits were great and i came out with so much more confidence that I will be successful. Please take the recommendation for more help seriously!

    Enchiladas

One of my fav meals on my pre-op supervised diet was a taco bowl. I layered refried beans, beef or turkey meat with taco seasoning, cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, green peppers, salsa and lean sour cream. Gave me all the flavors I was craving. I think this will be a staple again through mushies and soft foods post op!

    Tomorrow Is The Big Day!

I'm NOT looking forward to clear liquid day on Sunday. Looking for things to do to keep me busy! Good luck tomorrow, I know you'll do great!
  17. Made it to the 320s!! I always have a hard time moving between the "decade" pounds...but 329 this morning!!!!

  18. Since surgery is next week, I'll stick to lower impact workouts that don't cause me so much pain and do a proper fitting when I go shopping for my new work staples closer to returning to work. I've lost 50 lbs this year pre-op, all of my current clothes are already falling off but I'm just TOO cheap to really buy anything before surgery. The only thing I HAD to buy were some smaller undies for under skirts/dresses. My current ones ended up around my knees one day walking out of my last NUT appt
  19. They brought it up during my pre-op consultation, and was a 2 min discussion. My Nurse asked if there was a history of gallbladder issues, I said yes, then she said the dr will probably just decide to remove it as well. I said, Ok and she just marked it on the orders and away we went. My surgery is scheduled for Monday the 11th! My overly large belly is swimming in Protein Shakes and other Clear Liquids. I'm currently trying to choke down my nectar pink grapefruit in crystal light lemonade. Do you have your date yet?
  20. I don't know what happened to the FB function to send a note along with the friend request...but I just added you. I'm Sara and going in on June 11 Can't wait to see our super secret page
  21. Hey all!! Just checking in! I am officially half way through my pre-op diet!!!!!!!!!! Today has been a great day I heard from most people I talk with that day 3/4 are the hardest, and so far that is true, but not in the same way I was expecting. I was thinking it was going to be that those were the day where I'd want to cheat the most, but they were the days where I could barely choke down my shakes. Yesterday I even skipped my last shake because I just couldn't do it. I've learned that last shake has to be something lighter...I've been using the nectar sample packets I bought and mixing them with Crystal Light Lemonade. Just can't do that 5th milk based shake. I also tried the Ensure Clear premade drinks, and they are decent. I think they may be good while I'm on clears to get some nutrients and Protein in! Hope you all are doing awesome on your pre-ops. Love you all!
  22. I submitted my disability insurance weeks ago and I go in for surgery next week. I wanted to make sure they had all the paperwork while I was thinking clearly. Good luck!!!
  23. My surgeon is also removing my gallbladder at the time of surgery. My ultrasound did not show any current gallstones, nor do I have symptoms...but I have a family history of gallstones. Since gallstones can be more prevalent with rapid weight loss, we decided the best course of action was to remove it as well. For me it was an easy decision, I would much rather avoid any complications and need for additional surgery in the future. Good luck with your decision
  24. I have never had a proper "bra fitting", so I think that's my first step! I'm a big girl, I've been wearing 48Ds. I have lost 70 lbs, and they still seem to fit alright (which seems WAY odd to me). The worst is when I work out....I was on the elliptical and thought the girls were going to detach from my body and fly across the room. I'm also thinking of buying a band size small and get some extenders, and try out the genie bras as well!! You all rock
