Hey There Everyone, Glad To Be Here!
Krystyneh replied to Uniqueladybug's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Welcome I know how it feels to all of a sudden change course lol I was going for the lap band but where I'm going (Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Hanover, NH and I live in Vermont lol) they no longer do the lap band so it was either gastric bypass or the sleeve. Well my insurance doesn't cover the sleeve so I'm now going for gastric bypass. I got my approval Tuesday and I'm scheduled for surgery for Friday August 3rd -
Things You Don't Have To Worry About When Your Not Fat
Krystyneh replied to Monique5005's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Being able to run after my daughter and keep up to her and not have to hear the kids in her class make fun of her because she had a fat mom -
Oh I'm glad I don't have to do that lol even tho after surgery will be a huge wake up call with nothing but all Clear liquids lol I just hope my 4 1/2 year old daughter starts to understand that for awhile mommy won't be able to eat the same things that she can since she always loves to share her food with me lol

I Got My Surgery Date!
Krystyneh replied to Krystyneh's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Thanks I've been trying my hardest lol I hope you find out your date soon my husband is going to be shocked with my weight loss because he's an over the road truck driver and I only see him 2-3 times a month so he's definitely going to notice the weight loss after surgery -
oh no doesn't she understand that you're smaller now?

Okay so I'm a little frustrated right now. Friday I had scheduled my surgery date for July 18th but then the woman called me back and told me that the woman in charge of getting approval from insurances emailed her to tell her that they need to cancel my surgery date because I have VT Medicaid and it could take 1 week to 1 1/2 months to get approval and they don't want to have to reschedule my surgery at the last minute if they still hadn't gotten approval. Once she gets the approval from my insurance company I have to schedule my surgery date again. Anyone with state insurance, how long did it take before you were approved?

You're in my thoughts and prayers

Wow that's a great Pc I can't wait until I have some of those pics I can't wait until I have surgery

They gave u pain pills? I haven't had surgery yet. I should be finding out on Thursday when I meet with my surgeon but where I'm going they give u a prescription for liquid pain medication because they said u aren't supposed to swallow anything bigger then a baby aspirin for the first month of surgery and all Vitamins u have to cut. Huh I guess each place is different. I'm glad ur surgery went good

Hi everyone!!! My name is Krystyne and I started my weight loss journey back in September/October time at 315 pounds. I'm currently 268 pounds as of this morning. I started out on the lap band talk website because my heart was set on going for lap band surgery until I met with the dietician and nurse practitioner at DHMC. I have been overweight since age 12 that's when my PCOS kicked in. PCOS is the number one leading cause of infertility in women. I found out that gastric bypass can help reduce your PCOS symptoms and in some women it gets rid of it all together. So at age 12 I went from 110 pounds to 289 pounds in 1 1/2 years. I never changed my eating habits to gain the weight until at like age 16. I was getting picked on at school and the children would "MOO" at me and push me down the stairs so I've had 3 knee surgeries due to that. My husband and I have one child together and last year I suffered 2 miscarriages and even my OBGYN recommended me for bariatric surgery. He wanted me to go for gastric bypass but didn't know if I was big enough and thursday they confirmed that my BMI still qualifies me for it WOOHOO lol. I go on June 14th for my second appointment with the dietician and the nurse practitioner and then I meet with my surgeon afterwards because I got the bright green light to go from the nurse practitioner. Usually at DHMC you don't get to see your surgeon until the 4th or 5th appointment. They said that on June 14th, that after my appointments that they will be sending a request for my insurance to cover my surgery and that could take up to a month. I'm excited because they said that I should have my surgery hopefully by the beginning of August but I'm hoping that it's sooner My HUGE reason for the surgery besides getting healthy and to be around longer for my family is to add to our family my husband wants 4-5 more (OMG I don't know if I could handle that many lol) but we do want a big family but he's a truck driver that is only home every 1-2 weeks for a few days lol. But that's basically my story. (The pic is of my husband, daughter and I)
