Had my band nearly 6 months ago and still get stuck after every "first bite". Once it goes down ( which usually requires me going to the bathroom and throwing up) then I can continue my meal. Thus happens to me on a daily basis. The vomitting happens maybe 3-4 times a week. By vomitting I mean that i just let out that one piece that won't go down and then i'm fine. I'm worried about slippage. Anyone living the same thing?

Hi. I had my surgery on Dec. 7th 2011 and lost 40 lbs. It was fairly easy until about a month ago and i constantly get stuck and vomit I haven't lost much in the past month but then again I haven't been always following the rules because I'm fed up of getting stuck. So I eat more slider foods. Things that go down easily. Don't know what else to do ???”. But I see you are doing great!! Keep up the good work!!

I was banded on December 7th and since mid-february I have had significant hair loss. Now I'm at post op week 17. My doctor said that I'm probably not getting enough protein in my body. I do eat protein, maybe not always the amount I should but my meals are predominently made up of protein. Is there anything I can take other than the b12 and multivits I'm already taking?

I too was banded in december and have had 2 fills (Total of 6cc so far). It's been 2 weeks since my last fill and I still eat way too much. I've lost 10 lbs since my last fill (30lbs total weight loss) but now find myself maintaining that weight....no extra loss....no gain either. So I think I need another fill and this might be your case too. I always get told by my doctor that even though I can eat more doesn't mean I have to. This is something I struggle with because when I eat that 1 cup of food I find myself extremely hungry and munching all day long....which is wrong. So I eat a bigger portion of protein during the meal and it helps me get to the next meal without cheating, I don't think this is working anymore. Remember, he operated your stomach, not your brain. Most of the work had to come from you. This is what I'm starting to realize. But hang in there!! You'll be able to get to goal weight.

Vitamins & Calcium

I had the same exact problem! I switched to One-a-Day chewables for adults and Calcium+Vit D soft chews (chocolate) and things are much better! -
Hello Everyone! I just wanted to ask you all what brand of protein shakes is recommended by your doctor and by you of course! I can't for the life of me drink the protein shake powders I bought so far. I just keep spending money and then wasting it because I cannot stand the taste they have. Can anyone recommend a good tasting shake? Thanks

i too just had my first fill yesterday. I have to eat liquids for the next 3 days and it's hard because i really hated this part of the process. How long do you need to eat liquids only (if any) before going back to solids?

I'm in post op day 19 and right now I should be wating no more than 3/4 cup of pureed food. Somehow I can eat more!!! why is this so?

ok, so I had my lapband 5 weeks ago on Dec.7 and right now I am eating a regular diet. Although I've been told I'm in bandster hell right now because I have no restriction and I'm eating a lot more than I'm supposed to, I feel like it isn't right! Could it be that I can eat almost as much as I did before the band??? I've been told by my support leader that even though I feel I could eat more, that I really shouldn't. But that's why I got the band!! To use this tool to help me feel fuller faster!!!!! I haven't lost any weight since dec.19. I keep fluctuating by a pound or so (depending on how constipated I am...I know...TMI) but I haven't lost much and I'm not really eating the quantity I'm supposed to. Anyone have some wise words for me?

thanks for your feedback everyone. I am incorporating lots of protein in my meals. What I am not good at is eating fruits...I eat the veggies though. I have 3 meals a day and 2 snacks. The issue isn"t that I'm always hungry but that when I do sit down for my meal, I tend to eat more than told because I don't 'feel full' as fast as I'd like to...I start to feel full after about 4 oz of protein instead of at 2 oz of protein. I guess I do have to be patient and wait for my first fill which is in 3 weeks time. In the meantime, I do eat only 3 meals and 2 snacks a day and I do not "graze" anymore like I used to. I eat significantly less than I did before I was banded. like they say....patience is a virtue!

I'm taking chewable vitamin Centrum 50+ and chewable calcium tablets and cannot, for the life of me, chew them nor swallow them!! They make me gag! Any suggestions for alternatives?

i was banded on the 7th of december and my port site is quite prominent. I'm not sure if it's just swelling or if it's going to stay that way. i was told that normally you can't see the port but if this lump remains the way it is, then it really shows! What's going to happen when I lose weight...will it stick out more!?? ( help

Ok, so I'm on post op day 19 and it's been 5 days that I don't experience any nausea!! Yeah!!! The minute I ate the quantity I was supposed to eat (and not less) I felt better. So in the end, I needed to eat!!! Thanks again everyone for your precious advice!

Hello everyone, I just got banded about 11 days ago and I'm having a hard time eating the things I need to eat. I feel a lot of nausea, especially when I wake up in the morning. Any suggestions as to what I can take/do?? I'm getting desparate

When i do eat something it does goes away in that moment but 30 minutes after eating, it comes right back ( I just can't wait to eat normal food, no more mush...it's really getting tough to find things that I'm not fed up of already. Thanks a lot for your replies!!! )
