Honesty Vs. Lying About The Surgery
SpaceyCasey replied to Lovely's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I've kept mine a secret as well. my husband and my mother know. Not even my father or my 4 siblings know. Keeping it a secret for me has been easy when people ask what I'm doing to lose weight I just tell them I eat small portions through out the day which is not a lie. -
No I make it in a pot on the stove. There no sauce I don't drain the corn so there's some liquid in there but it ends up being pretty thick.

I'm 4 1/2 months post op and meat smells so bad I can't even eat it. Ive had serious issues since sugery with the way food smells and taste. Meat smells, dairy products smell and noodles even smell bad. It's the strangest thing I can't figure out what's in those things that smell and taste bad to me.

Wear sexy things for my husband without looking like a popped open biscuit can in it!

I have the numbness in my legs too so that might be unrelated to your other symptoms but it is a weird feeling. -
My Hair Falling Out; Weight Loss And Drawing Unwanted Attention To Self
SpaceyCasey replied to paperbacknovel's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Im a hair dresser at an aveda salon and I love the invanti it's a little expensive for the set but so worth it. -
The only people that know about my sugery are my husband because he went to Mexico with me and my mom I didn't tell anyone else and I've had no issues keeping my secret. I yo yo diet all the time so nobody really thinks twice about me losing weight. I thought I would tell people when they ask how I've lost the weight but surprisingly nobody asked how they just say I look great and move on.

So I Had A Bezoar? Anybody Know About These
SpaceyCasey replied to SpaceyCasey's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
So I think I figured out how I got a bezoar. Edamame beans!! I ate them all the time on my puréed phase and that about when my problems started. I had some last night and today I felt all clogged and couldn't keep any thing down so I went and got a coca cola and sipped on it and I think I broke it up I feel much better now. I guess the skin on the beans don't digest very well! -
So I Had A Bezoar? Anybody Know About These
SpaceyCasey posted a topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
If you don't know I've been dealing with vomiting, dry heaving, sliming everyday. I had my endoscopy yesterday( not with my sugern) and he said its a bezoar and they are very rare. He couldn't tell me why or what causes it besides chewing on your hair which I don't and he hopes it doesn't come back. He told me the best way to keep them broke up is soda. Pre op I would of loved a reason to drink soda for my health but that not really an option now. If any body knows a little more or has had one and got information about how to prevent it please let me know. -
Today Is my 3 month post op i started at 305 and im 238 now down 67 pounds. The last couple months I couldn't really eat I vomited all the time I went for a endoscopy and they found a bezoar blocking my stomach. Well that was taken out last week and I can eat food now!!!! Yay everything is starting to get better. I'm looking forward to the next 3 months and hoping they go a little easier now that I can eat.

3 Months Today Its Going Better!

I think I figured out what caused me to have a bezoar I'm pretty sure it was edamame beans!! I had some last night and today I just felt like something was stuck and nothing would stay down. So I went and got a coca cola and sipped on it and I think I broke it up I feel better now. I guess the skin on the beans don't digest or go down very easily. So edamame lovers Watch out! -
I recently had a bezoar( fiber blockage) taken out and the doctor told me soda would break up anything that's not digesting. I sip on soda every day (with no problem)to prevent that from happening again it's was a horrible couple months.

Well I'm three months post op now and it's really the first time I've been able to eat with out vomiting. If you don't know already I had a bezoar (blockage) thats why I havnt been able to eat and it was taken out last week. Ever since I have been so happy I can eat and keep it down I havnt cared what I was eating. It doesn't help it's my period week either. I'm hoping after my monthly visitor my hunger will not be as bad and I will care more about what I'm eating.

I Can Eat! But I Can't Stop!
SpaceyCasey replied to SpaceyCasey's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I know it can't be real hunger. Its just been 3 months since I've been able to eat so I'm just thrilled I'm able to do it. Im not really eating to bad just lots of carbs I eat watermelon like all day! It's my new addiction. One good thing is I havnt felt this normal since sugery I have my energy back I don't need naps I dont feel like I'm going to pass out at work. I think I'm going to enjoy the rest of my journey even though the first 3 months were hell. -
I'm three months and things still taste like crap. I can't eat any thing with oil all I taste is grease. And there is something in dairy that I can not tolerate. I do hope this gets better.

3 Months Today Its Going Better!
SpaceyCasey replied to SpaceyCasey's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Well the dr that took the bezoar out told me soda breaks them up. So if I start to feel a little clogged again I'm gonna sip on a soda to try and break it up before it gets big. -

That's funny because he asked me if I chew on my hair! He didn't think it was my hair ball because I'm blonde and the bezoar was black. I told him I have a black dog though so I might need make sure I'm not swollowing his hair. Lol -

Lol a bezoar is a mass of some sort that doesn't get digested and apparently they are common in Wls patients. I've never heard of it before either. It was terrible It got so bad the last 3 weeks I couldn't eat or drink anything I was so exhausted and tired! But now it's out I'm so much happier! -
So I Had A Bezoar? Anybody Know About These
SpaceyCasey replied to SpaceyCasey's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
He took it out yesterday which i was so happy about. I dont eat celery or coconut so it has to be something else. He wasn't any help on telling me what it was. After sugery he asked my husband if I chew on my hair and my husband said no. I have a dog and I'm a hairstyliest but I'm pretty sure I don't consume that much hair to cause a bezoar. Im almost 3 months post op and havnt tried soda yet but if I try 1 a week or so maybe it will prevent this from happening again. -
Well I'm 2 month post op down 50 pounds I'm really happy with everything but I still throw up every day. I'm taking my acid reducer 2 times a day. It's not like the food gets stuck it goes down and then like 15 minutes later i cough up a slim ball sometimes with food sometimes not then it's over. I feel like I produce a lot of that slimy stuff and my stomach is filled with it. Is my stomach just super sensitive did anybody else go threw this and does it get better.

SpaceyCasey replied to SpaceyCasey's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm in constant communication with my doc he thinks it's acid just seeing if anybody else went threw this also. -
I'm 8 weeks now and around my 5 week mark I started throwing up(sliming) when I ate. I'm still having that problem. I was told to get an acid reducer which it helped with nausea but not the slimy stuff. It is very frustrating. I eat things that won't be that bad coming back up. hopefully it get better for the both of us!
