Thank you all for your kind words. Actually I work for a hospital and our insurance covers the surgery for us. They are self insured and use Anthem BC for authorizations. I am still doing well and trying very hard to do the "montra" I was told by others on this site. Sip, Rest, Walk. So far so good. My prayers are with all the future sleevers and I am proud of us all to make a decsion that will make us healthier and so we can live very full and fun lives. Patti :woot:

I am so excited, I was scheduled for 1/17 but my surgeon had to change the date and he moved it up to 1/10/12. Wow it is time now. I am doing and feeling great so I am ready ( I think) I am so happy it is almost here. I have one question. My sister is taking me for my surgery. Can someone tell me how long the surgery takes? It is something I forgot to ask my surgeon. Patti

I too just received my surgery date, it is January 17th. I now know the feeling everyone has when all is set to go. Good Luck to all the January sleevers!

Phillip I work in Medical insurance billing and the birthday rule you noted is only for children dependants of two adults with insurance. As the employee your insurance will be primary and you wife's insurance secondary for you and for her it would be her insurance prime and yours as her secondary. If you are getting a statement from a hospital or doctor listing your UHC as secondary, I would call them and let them know it is listed backwards. Hope this helps and good luck Patti

I too am waiting for the insurance approval and surgery date. I thought it was just me with these feelings. So greatful to have the encouragement of everyone on this site. I also have gained about 5 pounds and I know that I need to lose that and more. I think I will be very serious about it when I have a date. I just want to have a goal date.
