Leg Cramps...
PreciousCargo replied to PreciousCargo's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The nurse called me back and told me I am not getting enough fluids or protein. She said seize eating and drink milk all day. That will count as my fluids and protein. ( I cant tolerate the protein shakes. ) She also said start taking two Flinstone complete vitamins twice daily. She informed me that the gummies dont have all the vitamins necessary to meet the requirements. -
Leg Cramps...

Thank you, great suggestions, I heard it could be dehydration but I wasnt sure. I experienced dehydration earlier and was hospitalized 10 days after my surgery. I wish I could get the hang of this. -

2 Wek Post-Op Visit Today...

Since we have the same Doc, I completely understand your dilemma. Dr. Kim is a man of few words, he does always seem to be in a hurry though. He does say not to set a goal weight because they dont want you to feel pressured, allow the process to occur more naturally. Your doing great. -
When To Return To Work
PreciousCargo replied to Nikki613's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My doctor makes you take two weeks... that is everyone. I got an additionally week off because of having to return to the hospital after surgery. Listen to your body though and take care of yourself. -
Hopefully this will past and you will start feeling better soon. It is great you are taking care of yourself and dont regret any choices. In the end it will all be benefit health and life. Like I hear so often sip, walk and rest. good luck

I had to come to the hospital due to nausea and dehydration. This is not what I was looking forward to. I know it will be worth it in the end. However, when it takes four attempts to place an IV, it makes you a little nervous. The news is that they are finding out that depression medication has an effect on our new sleeve. However, it is hard to say what the answer is when you need the medicine. I also am having difficult moving liquids through from the starting point to the ending point. They are needing to give me some medicine to restart my system. When I get the technical terms I will post them for better explanation. It will all work out. I may new to take another week off from work and spend a few days in here. When I get home the plan is start from the beginning, fluids AGAIN. Has anyone notice how hard it is to watch TV and see a hundred food advertisements. Just a random thought.

Yayyy So Tomorrows The Day
PreciousCargo replied to chigga77's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Good luck... I have to say I had horrible hungry pains the first day but it was due to the acid the doctor said. I believe you will do fine... keep us posted -
I am having the opposite problem... I have not went in over a week maybe longer... amazing how we react so different to this surgery.
-
finished grogery shopping, bought some Atkins drinks which seem to be agreeing with me, finally. go to give the liquid diet another day before I try solids again.
-
It has happen to me also. Keep sipping and sipping. They should have given you nausea medicine and if not call them and request it. Things that were helpful to me is either really hot decaf tea or popsicles. Some people can only tolerate room temp liquids. The doctors told me they arent worried about becoming dehydrated right after surgery because they pump so many fluids into us at the hosp. Also, I cant tolerate or even like the same stuff prior to my surgery. I had bought several items I had to return to the store because it makes me gag now. Good luck

Its A Whole New World
PreciousCargo replied to Ann Morales's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
My 11 yr old also didnt want me to have the surgery, he said I wouldnt be his mommy anymore because his mommy is big and round and I was getting to skinny... kids say the darnest things. Anyway, congrats on the sleeve and your family will adjust to your decision. -
yep I still am having trouble and it has been over a week.. just keep sipping... I cant even get in 25 grams of protein in yet or 30 oz of fluid. I had to backtrack from my soft stage back to liquids I was having so much difficulty. good luck, it will get easier

Everything I eat or drink feels like it is lodged in my throat going down. I try to chew, chew, chew and sip, sip, sip, very slowly limiting bites and sips. This is very annoying and discouraging to the point where I dont want to eat or drink anything.

My first trip to the grocery store, I dread it. My son has reminded me he DOES need to eat and he is not on a diet. Everything will look tempting.

I have been on mine since the day after the surgery, and it keeps flowing and flowing...... They say it is from the blood thinners we received. Anytime now it can stop. We are going through enough adjusting to our sleeve and now this also. Sheesh -

Prilosec Tablet On Liquid Phase? Can You Crush?
PreciousCargo replied to Mommadreams's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I just posted a thread similar to your thread, I am experiencing the same problem. However, the doctor prescribed me a medication every morning to take. I dont know what to do. -
As it was told to me we could also die from our health issues related to our weight. I was also scared prior to my surgery and I still have concerns, but I would do it again. There is a lot of websites concerning these surgeries that you should explore and definitely check out the references of doctors and hospitals. You have a lot of stress already with your child's health and it is important to maintain your health also. Stay positive and dont let the negativity from your family and friends hinder your decision. For years I explored this journey and even bypassed surgery once. My boyfriend and son even asked me not to have the surgery, but I did it for me . You need to do this for you, your health matters also.
