At the age of 18, I found myself in college and pregnant. Being that young I did not have any type of healthy eating habits nor sense that my weight gain was not just 'baby fat'. During the pregnancy I gained over 100 pounds, not realizing that this weight would effect me for the rest of my life, I adapted because my fiancee did not mind the weight gain.

Fast forward 3 years later, my fiancee passes away and now I am left in a state of confusion and depression at the age of 21. My weight never was an issue, especially with the opposite sex, but then again I was 21. It wasnt until I was 27 that I began to see that my weight was an issue and started trying to lose by using pills and LA Weight Loss. With a lot of hard work, I lost 75 pounds and gained my confidence back.

Eventually, I gained all the weight back and then some. In 2011 I said enough is enough and sought out a doctor to look at my options. Since Georgia does not offer the weight loss surgery under medicaid, I moved back to Ohio and began my journey. Now, I have had the surgery lost 54 pounds and feel great!!! I am setting an example for my daughter, my mother and my friends and family. I am flawed and fall off the wagon, but I get back up and start again.
