The Gastric Sleeve Helped Me Avoid Treats At Work!
runner replied to MoonSiren's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Y|es I have to lose 10% of my weight to get the sleeve so in a round about way -
I'm not telling anyone. My husband knows and that's where it ends. And even he has told me I'm taking the easy way out. I do feel shame but I also want to save my life, live to see my grandchildren and not have to have my knees replaced in 10 Years

Why Oh Why Can't I Lose Weight!
runner replied to Felicia's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
In another post you said that you have cheated a few times. Have you stopped cheating? (I'm trying to be helpful not critical so don't be offended) Are you getting enough Protein? That is really important My dr has cheese on the list of things I can never eat again I'm not sure why he thinks it's so bad, I will have to ask him at my appointment I'm sure it will start to fall off soon. It could be the 3 week stall. -

Made up my mind on surgeons
runner replied to Glendaaus's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Good to hear Glenda! I am living in red deer now, I used to live in Lethbridge. How did your appointment go? -
Hello Canadians! I'm in red deer, AB and I will be getting the sleeve from dr. Farries or one of the other 2 doctors working with him now. I was on the waiting list, started seeing dr.gregg in jan 2011 but then for some reason I got an overwhelming feeling that I was going to die. I just knew if I went thru with it that would be the end for me. Sooooo I hired a personal trainer, worked with a nutritionist, worked my butt off for months, started running, tried body by vi and here I am a year later back on the waiting list. I would have my sleeve by now if I stuck to it. But I'm glad I gave it my alll one more time so that I could really say I tried! I have learned valuable information over the last year and continued researching the sleeve. All of these things will help me out when its my turn and hopefully I won't have to wait too long!

Congrats!

I've read it's a reaction caused from the shock and stress of the surgery and has nothing to do with protein or anything else. I have had a few surgeries and always lose hair a few months after so I tend to agree with this.

I was raised being told it was rude to bring it up and that has stuck with me.If someone brings it up themselves then I will say something but otherwise I never say a peep. Im sure they noticed and Im sure you look wonderful! 47 pounds is huge, congratulations -
I found a link somebody has posted to figure out my reccommended weight. Thanks everybody!

I want to run my first 10k and start training for a half marathon. I just started running this year and I LOVE it. I have done 3 5ks and new years eve will be my 4th. I also want to learn to love myself, it will take longer then a year but I have to start somewhere.
