Do You Buzz Going Through A Metal Detector?
Lovemythreems posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Don't laugh at me but I meant to ask my doctor if I will buzz at the airport going thought the metal detector. For some reason I always get picked to get wanded/violated & if the port is metal won't I buzz? How embarrassing that could be? What would I say if my stomach beeps? Laugh with me not at me. I'm super serious! -

Do You Buzz Going Through A Metal Detector?

Thank goodness. Mine sorta looked like it had a metal ring on the inside but maybe it's plastic. Whew...I've been wondering about that for like 2days...lol -

I Know:). That's how I think. Super funny... -
Great question. I don't get a fill for 3 more weeks. And I think I am more worried about that than losing weight. When I feel my stomach I can feel my port & it makes me quezzie (seriously throw up style). Not sure why. Maybe the idea of a foreign object in my body. So glad to no that a fill is not painful. If I can get a bikini wax I can handle a fill (lol)... Whew

6/8 Banded, Day...4?
Lovemythreems replied to misslock's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi there, I was banded on may 31st & the gas pain in my back was killer too. It even still hurts sometimes at night. A heating pad or those bean bags you put in the microwave helped me a great deal. Something about the heat, it helps distribute the gas. Gas x did not help me at all. My liquid diet was only 4 days so I was able to take my pain pills at night w/ a little yogurt. I'm not a big pain medicine person either but I did take at night to be more comfortable. Congratulations:). It's a big step. Your going to do great. Just take it slow. I'm almost 2 weeks out & I'm feeling pretty good. I have 1 incision that is a little tender but that's it. I can't have a fill for 6 weeks & I am getting hungrier. I'm trying to eat every 3 hours to help with that. My doc is pretty liberal with eating & foods so weightloss hasn't been drastic. I only did clear for a week & in the 4 day post op I could do soft. Which I was grateful for. Good luck & I'm glad your feeling good' -
Hernia Repair? Feeling Good
Lovemythreems replied to Lovemythreems's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thank you. No one mentioned it. I'm going to call the office tomorrow as I'm concerned as I never knew I had one. It's so easy to replace one compulsion (eating) with another (scale) that I have spent most of my time trying to get my mind right for surgery. It's hard as I want to go super fast but I know in the long run that won't be beneficial for me. I'm excited I made the ultimate decision. Good luck to you to. Hope your journey is going well. -
Just A Little Update 5 Days Po

Hi there, I'm glad your feeling well. I was banded on may 31st & my shoulder pain was incredible. I don't have any more & I'm feeling good, Only have lost 6lbs. No fill for 6weeks but I feel good. I'm more of a slow & steady person so I'm going to take my fills slow. I don't want to spend my days throwing up. Sometimes I feel more guilt than regret. I sometimes feel like I took the easy way out but then realize this is what's best for me. You'll do great! & it's worth it to be healthier. I think you'll get over the regret part as time goes on. Good luck -

How To Settle A Nervous Stomach?
Lovemythreems replied to Ready2loseIt's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was super nervous before my surgery too & I get nervous stomach. I kept watching you tube lapband stories. Bad, bad idea (made me crazy). Most important is to stay hydrated. I was banded on may 31st & had my 1st week pre op today. All is well. Surgery wasn't that bad, the worst part for me was the gas pains in back & shoulder. You'll be just fine:). I'm happy to share my experience if you have questions. -
Oh boy, I was approved in 24 hours & tomorrow is the big day. I'm super nervous & hungry as heck right now. Clear diet is a bummer. I hope I'm making the right decision. I've researched & reviewed a million times & I think this will be the best tool for my lifestyle. The idea of throwing up & not being able to eat is what freaks me out the most. I don't have any grandiose visions of being a size 2 or obsessing over my scale, I simply just want to be healthy. No more pills for hbp, no more being uncomfortable on a airplane. I just want to be a average women that's comfortable in her own skin. Wish me luck & say a quite prayer for me.

The only thing that helped me with the gas pains was a heating pad. You can use that or hot Water bottle or those bean bags you can heat up (get that before your surgery, you'll need it) & walking. To be honest the gas pain was the worse part. Still hurts at night. I only had to do the clear for 24 hours before. I did chicken broth w/ Protein powder in it, Jello, Popsicles & hot tea....& repeat:). When are you doing yours? -

Banded Today -Gas Is Killing Me, Help
Lovemythreems replied to Lovemythreems's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Ps, gas x didn't help me b/c the air is in the body from the procedure not in our bowels. Hot water bottle, heating pad & walking helps me the best. -
Banded Today -Gas Is Killing Me, Help
Lovemythreems replied to Lovemythreems's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi all, I'm 6 days post op & still have gas but the heating pad does wonders especially at night & doesn't hurt my incisions. I'm not to fond of peppermint so didn't try that. Walking definitely helps. I'm feeling pretty good otherwise. Just feel pretty tight & want food. I'm so over the liquid stuff. -

How Did You Feel After Surgery
Lovemythreems posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I got approved in a day. I have to get the surgery done before the end of the month. I'm scheduled on the 31st, the same darn day my daughter continuates:(. Wondering how did you feel the day of? My doc is saying I'll be a little sore but should feel fine to sit through a 1hour program later that night. I'm excited but feel overwhelmed at the same time. -
How Did You Feel After Surgery
Lovemythreems replied to Lovemythreems's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yeah, that's what I thought. My husband may have to fill in. -
Im 3 months out & everytime I see the dietician she freaks me out. She told me I'll be on protein shakes after surgery & I should try a few...unmm they are expensive! Don't think I want to buy multiple types, anyone have a good one? Not too yucky or gritty tasting. Mix with water preferred. It also seems like I won't be able to eat anything. Seems like everything can get stuck. Although I would love to lose 80 pds I'm getting scared that I'll basically be starving myself. Thoughts?
