    Slow Loser :(

Keep working at getting your band in green zone. I'm a slow loser too by choice. I'm taking my fills slow. I get my 3rd fill next week. It can be frustrating but it will come off. Keep measuring & making good choices.
  2. I received my 2nd fill last week and this time I felt the restriction. My 1st fill was 41/2 ccs and I didn't lose any weight. My 2nd fill was .75 and I've lost 2 lbs. I think I'm almost there. I can eat pretty good & I haven't had any stuck issues. I had a appt to get another fill but I think I'll wait to see how this week goes. Glad to be losing again.
  3. Gained a pound after 4 1/2 cc fill a week ago. Wonder if that means I need more? Not going to panic, afterall it was just a pound.
  4. I made the same mistake with choc-covered raisins. Before I knew it the whole bag was gone:). I've been getting a single herseys bar & breaking off a section when I want something sweet. It's worked well for me.

    First Fill 5Cc!

I have a 12cc band & my doc does 5 1/2 for 1st fill. I got 4 1/2 last week. I get to go back next week for 4 more ccs. Dont feel super restricted.

    12 Hours Banded

Congrats. You will feel better soon. The gas pains are the worst part. All your feeling is normal. I was banded May 31st & felt super tight for about 3 days. Keep sleeping & drinking.
  7. Yesterday I received 4-1/2 cc & it wasn't bad at all. Just a little prick & that was it. They normally do 5-1/2 ccs but I wanted a little less to see how I feel. Today I feel a little tight but no issues with food going down. Im going to wait a week & see if I feel restriction. If not I can go in a get more. I posted a few weeks ago that I can seriously feel/see my port & how yucko it makes me feel. The nurse confirmed that it's a little more to the left & not completely flush with my body. I knew I wasn't crazy. That sucka sticks out. She says overtime, I will get more scar tissuetoo form around it & it will flatten out. It better. Weight loss was 11 lbs, which is cool with me 6-weeks post op. its the most I've lost in 6 weeks ever so...yippeee Hope your having a excellent day!

Ist Fill 6 Weels Post Op

Received my 1st fill today. 41/2 cc & it was fine. Just a little prick & that was it. They normally do 51/2 ccs but I wanted a little less to see how I feel. I posted a few weeks ago that I can seriously feel my port & how yucko it makes me feel. The nurse confirmed that it's a little more to the left & not completely flush with my body. I knew I wasn't crazy. Overtime I will get more scar tissue there & it will flatten out. Whew. Weight loss was 11 lbs. I feel a little quisie but not sure if that's from the fill or not eating today. I'm starving:) Hope everyone is doing well. Tina

    1St Fill Next Week

Okay, I'm 5 weeks post-op, 11 lbs down & next week is my 1st fill. I know everyone is different w/ how many ccs, Weight loss goal, tight restriction etc. I've been thinking about this for awhile & I think I will ask for 2ccs. I do not want to gag, get stuck or not be able to drink water. I realize that starting slow may cost me more in the long run (more fills) but I think this is better for me. I am ok with losing my weight slowly & over time. How many ccs did you get for your 1st fill?

    Really Scared To Get Stuck

That is the best explanation ever. I get my 1st fill next week & im a little worried. I don't want any parts of being super restricted. I like being able to swallow my spit, so I think I'm going to go for small fills at a time. I would rather go slow than than being miserable.

    I'm Too Picky For Liquids????

My doc is different as well. I was on liquid post surgery for 3 days & then I could do mushy. I.e, yogurt, cottage cheese, grits, cream of wheat, flaky fish, mashed potatoes, all Soups etc. Day 10 I could start to incorporate solids slowly. I've only had a problem with steak & lettuce. It's temporary but I agree with a earlier post. Check to see if you can do cooked Cereal, cream of wheat, grits & oatmeal saved me:). Good luck
  15. Taking the step to have LapBand surgery does not mean that we are cured. It's a process, a journey. There will be good days & bad days. What counts the most is that we're growing & we are all healthier. We can all play with our kids/grandkids w/out feeling like we're going to die. We can all get of the meds we are on. We can all take a flight of stairs, no problem. & we can all have skinny sex, yes I said it. I see lots of post where we are simply our worst enemy & beat ourselves up for habits we have had for a lifetime. If we eat something were not suppose to, it's okay. We're on a journey & we will make mistakes. Any weight loss is good & we should all Celebrate milestones other than weightloss. Like today I took my blood pressure & it was in the normal range. It hadn't been normal in years. Sweet! I didn't weigh myself & don't care if I'm up or down. There are so many other things we can focus on even if just for a short time. Stay positive & keep moving forward. We can do it! Tina

    Home From Surgery

Congrats. Take it easy you'll feel better real soon. I'm 4 weeks post op & feel good.
  18. 37 pounds in 2 months is huge. I don't understand why your upset? Sounds like you should focus on emotional eating & resetting your expectations. Maybe see a counselor to help you with that. Good luck
  19. About day 9 for me too. Port area just started feeling normal & not sore. I'm 4 weeks post op.

    Have You Tried???

As time goes on you'll be able to eat most of that in moderation. Me, pancakes, yes, waffles yes, tortilla all the time, rice is a no for me, made my tummy hurt. I've stayed away from Pasta. I'm willing to go slow so I don't want my band super tight so I can still eat most foods. If you want your band tight you may have to limit those foods. Don't worry. Good luck

    Fruit

I have a hard time with fresh fruit going down but I had 2 smoothies today & I feel much better. Not dragging like most days. I agree I'm going to have to disagree with the no fruit. I did Greek yogurt, apple juice, 1/2 banana & strawberries.

    Bad Day But Its Ok

Ok, that's 1 of the reasons I never logged my food b/c other than oz I don't have a calorie goal & I found it to be confusing. Less confusion for me the better. That's helps alot. Thanks!
  23. I Promised I would post the good & day. Yesterday & today hadn't been so good. 3 weeks post op & my body feels good but my mind is in I'm hungry mode. It feels like I've been eating non-stop. Some of it is real hunger & some of it is just my mind. I don't think I've allowed myself to feel hungry at all this weekend. I was craving chocolate so i bought some choc covered raisins. I thought that was a better choice. The bag is empty as of tonight. Yep! So I'm just gonna put it out there & keep it movin. Honesty with myself is the best policy. I tried tracking my food but it's really hard for me b/c I'm not quite sure how much I'm eating. I might have 2 bits of meat. No clue how to track that...I'm also not sure how many calories I should eat. My doc said to eat until I'm comfortable & stop. He didn't want to complicate the process so advised to work on making the band my friend & not count calories So the last 2 days have been a eating fest. Small portions but non-stop fullness. So that's my bad 3 weeks post op... Hope everyone is doing well
  24. Heating pad for me & it saved my life...my gas pain was my biggest issue.
